I'm not talking about a show on TV currently. I'm talking about one you picked up on DVD, maybe based on your own interest, by a friend's recommendation, whatever the case may be.
Then you find yourself so into it that you end up plowing through the series quickly?
The reason I ask is because I'm currently in that situation with Alias. My friend has been pushing it on me for years now, given our common interest in Lost. I had very little to watch during Spring Break so I finally took him up on his offer and now I'm entirely hooked. In the last two weeks, I've watched the entire first and second seasons and am now starting the third.
I'm not exactly proud to say that I've dedicated so much time to a show recently, but i have to admit if i'm not at school, at work, or with friends, I'm probably watching this show.
Has this ever happened to any of you?

This happend to me with The Office. My best friend was telling me for a while how funny it was, and then we all went on vacation one weekend in May and she brought the first season on DVD to watch. We watched episodes all night, and ended up watching all the seasons when we got back home. Now we watch it every week when its on TV, I love it lol.

Probably alot of the shows on Nick At Night.
Like Fresh Prince. When i seen commercials about how theyre bring it to N@N, i was like "wow this show looks like the dumbest thing ever".
And now, a couple years later ive seen every episode.

I watched one episode of House...Then I finished watching the season (which ever was last) and then Thanksgiving came around and Amazon had this HUGE sale...I bought seasons 1-3...Watched them one after the other...Soooo good!
Another one was King of Queens. I went on my first cruise ship in 2003 I think and that was constantly on tv. And then I began to watch it every Monday...And then bought the season dvds and watched as I got them!

Probably Scrubs when it came to Comedy Central. Watching two episodes at seven, and talking about them with my buddy who had seen them all already.
Good times.

Entourage - Started getting the box sets in the middle of season 3 and fell in love.
Frisky Dingo - Picked up the first season because a friend told me I would dig it, and he was right.
Scrubs - Started before season 6 with the box sets, become utterly hooked.
Dexter - My friend Sean was always talking about it, and when I found a killer deal on the first season I took it. One of my all time favorites now.
Rescue Me - My mom told me to watch it, then she went and bought me the first season, the rest is history.
Right now I'm watching Six Feet Under, the same friend that convinced me to get Frisky Dingo told me to check this out, and I'm loving it.

I recently had a crack-like addiction to PEEP SHOW. And in '07 my life revolved around Flight of the Conchords.

To be honest, no.
I barely watch TV even, except for The Office and Raw, but I'm not 'hooked' on either.

Same here, one of my best friend kept on bragging how funny the show was. I never really bothered to check it out until one day I was really bored. I watched an episode of The Office on the internet..fell in love and now I watch it all the time.
