Well, the thing is, does real life tension between two fueding stars help the matches/build-up?
For me, I think it does, I mean look at a few past examples;
Rock/Austin in 1998/99 This helped their match at WM15 and the build-up IMO, which had both come out looking great
HBK/Bret Is there more to say, when ever these two got together, it was great, and had that added feeling of genuine hate between the two
So yeah, does it help do you think?

I didn't know that Rock and Austin had heat. Interesting. I think real life heat between superstars (i.e. Edge and Matt Hardy) can help. It adds a little something to the feud.

I was thinking about the Edge/Matt Hardy feud that went on after Lita cheated on Matt with Edge in real life. That was a really great feud.

Yeah, it was after the WM15 match between the two that they started to actually like eachother, if you watch the match at 'Mania, you see Rock calling Austin a "mother er" and a "piece of crap" lol

That was just Rock being a good heel No, but on the Documentary "Mania Of WM" Rock even says himself that he and Austin didn't get along, and I saw this video on YouTube, I think from Backyard Wrsetling or something, and it had abit about the RR match between Rock and Mankind, and backstage, when Rock and Foley are talking, and Austin came across, both were just so un-natural and looked quite awkward

it helped with HHH vs Rock and Undertaker vs HBK (97/98) for sure.
I never knew Austin and Rock had heat.as far as I knew Austin and Taker helped him out when HBK and HHH were on their begging missions for HHH elelvation to Vince in late 98 early 99.
ah well you live and learn

Neither one acknowledges the other. I was found it strange and just assumed it had to do with the heat that Rock had mentioned on the Mania of Mania special. As far as heat between wrestlers could work at a disadvantage but I've never worked a match so it's hard for me to speculate really.

It could always carry the risk of a guy shooting on the other, but to be honest that would just be a lack of professionalism on the offender's part

I think what helps even more than that is real life closeness and friendship, along with respect.
Think about feuds like Jericho/HBK. It was brilliant. Triple H and Michaels is another brilliant feud. HBK and Flair was incredible, too. HBK and Diesel had a nice run as well.
Edge and Christian had a great feud as well, and they had no heat with one another. Right before that The Hardyz and Edge and Christian were all real life friends, and put on tag matches mid way through the card, and stole the show.

Firstly, for the fan watching, yes it can be a great thing to see, for the people involved it could potentially lead to 'A' getting fired because of his probs with 'B'. Injuries caused intentionally could be possible.
This leads me on to something else. People always say 'Its a shame wrestling has been let out of the bag', 'theres no secrets, 'the internet has destroyed the magic'. A counter point is usually somthing along the lines of, 'everyone knows its not real, whats the point of pretending it is'. The smarks know that if WWE or TNA etc let out a press release, or publically announce somthing like a bust up, its generally a work.
Ive often wondered if there was away around this, a way to get the smarks to believe there is a rift when in reality its a work..... Bring on the shoot interview. I wonder if anyone has ever shooted on tape and had us all believing when in fact its just a work.
To me, that would be the only way to confuse the know it all's and quite frankly, i would love it. Every shoot i have seen i have always presumed it to be fact, or factual enough as the person in question is talking about something with experience. I wonder if anyone has ever shooted on a real life friend 'with the friends concent' just for shlts and giggles.
This concept would have everyone questioning and could create a clasic feud if done properly. Not something done all of the time and nothing obviously over the top.

I personally always thought Matt and Edge was a work Sadly, it was not. Ironically, Matt and Edge are not friends....but Matt and Lita are now close friends again. So sad. Matt is desperate.
