The Rock thinks Cena's challenge is some kind of joke. Its not. Why cant he give him a proper answer and do what all his fans want him to do - step in the ring for one more match. The Rock is not Ric Flair's age so there is no excuse for him to back down. He still got what it takes. So come on people, lets start wanting Cena vs. Rock WM 26.

The Rock doesnt take Cena seriously because well, its petty to continue to beat a dead horse about Rock coming back.
Rock doesnt wanna come back. Leave him alone. hes hate you

there's a perfectly acceptable excuse: he doesn't want to do it.

Because the Rock is DONE with wrestling. He's moved on. He has no ties into it anymore. He's got a very successful career where he can support himself better than he did with wrestling, and put his body in less harm.
Every fan always wants "one more match" from a superstar that's not there anymore. We're lucky we had Rock and Sock vs. Evolution at Wrestlemania 20. He had no obligation to do that match, which was very entertaining, and one of my favorite 'Mania matches. But he is not going to give one more match. He's done with that part of his life and I'm sure he's grateful for it but he owes NOTHING to the fans anymore.
Simply put, you will not see the Rock step foot into a wrestling ring again to have a match. People need to stop expecting it, or holding onto a desire that won't happen.

the rock is always looking out the window at disney headquarters, and he seems to have a far away look in his eye. disney always asks "what are you looking at? you're not still thinking about wrestling, are you? i thought we were done that, agreed this is whats best for you...whats best for us. you said you were ready to leave it behind." and rock answers back "no, don't worry darling, i'm done with wrestling. i promised you and i won't go back." and disney says "don't lie to me, i see you watching clips of weekly shows, you still cut promos in your sleep for god sake. dwayne...think of the kids (buyers), think about whats best for us (your celebrity status)." and rock always answers "i left wrestling behind me forever. it was a troubling part of my life but i love what we have now." and disney answers back "good, because if you ever were to go back, i don't know if i could still be with you (contract you for kid's movies). i just don't know.." and that always makes dwayne realize his priorities, think of his kids (celebrity status) and buckle down and continue. because dwayne realizes to be a man, he has to sacrifice what he wants to do, for what he has to do. basically what i'm saying is, rock has found other things and wrestling runs more risk than benefit for him now.

Perhaps if the Rock never went on his little rant on Raw a few years ago about how WWE is "home" to him, and how he's so passionate abut the business people would stop expecting him to give us one more match.

I accept that the Rock is done with wrestling, but the only bone I have to pick with him is his obligation to tease the fans and still talk highly of wrestling. If you follow Dwayne's interviews he still talks highly of the business. Yet if he "loves" the business so much What stops him from coming back? he's yet to answer that question besides saying he's retired. retired to what? Dressing up as Hannah Montana? What he needs to do is just come out and talk smack about the business like I know he wants to. I know he wants to just have an interview and say " Off WWE", but he's holding it back for some reason. If he were to do that maybe it would open some eyes on who he really is. And the only man to step forward and prove that is John Cena. He proved his point. He said Dwayne left on a bad note, and questioned his loyalty to WWE. He then gave Dwayne a chance to redeem himself, by Challenging him. Then Dwayne called is Laughable. Thats a spit in the face to John Cena and the WWE. Its just crazy to see how many people still defend Dwayne Johnson. Like I said before though, its because John Cena is who challenged him. If it were Edge, everyone would be supportive and call Dwayne a pu$$y for backing down

You do realize that wrestling is fake, right? Cena's "challenge" is inherently a joke, considering that there isn't any real competition. You guys need to realize that, if John Cena could make a better living as a full-time actor, he would probably do it; too... But quite frankly, John Cena is a crapty actor and only has appeal because he's a wrestler. The Rock hasn't wrestled in years and is still pulling in big movies.

Just because he doesn't come back every so often doesn't mean he hates it. Yeah, Rock not coming back makes him a pro wrestling "p**y".

He is done with wrestling. He is done with wrestling. He is done with wrestling. He is not coming back. That does not mean he didn't love the business. It does not mean that he still doesn't love the business. It means he has moved on with his life. He accomplished everything he wanted to accomplish. He could have stuck around and still would have been competing to this day, in which case he'd be bashed for being completely stale or another one of WF's favorite words, overrated. Instead, he moved on to something new that he wanted to do that he obviously finds a lot more comfort in doing, rather than doing 'one more match' to please fickle, unappreciative fans.

If I'm The Rock and I've busted my butt for years, suffering injurys, getting worn down, and being on the road. If a time comes where I can make MORE money, with little chance of injury, not being on the road every single day. I'm taking the movie gig - it's not that The Rock hates us, or wrestling in general. He's over it. Much like others.

I love how some of you blindly attatch some malicious intent to Rock's motives... he can't love the business AND respect his legacy enough to leave it alone? Certainly it's possible. He gave his answer quite clearly whether you think it's proper or not. Edge could've made the challenge and it wouldn't have mattered. Respecting Rock's decision is accepting that the man is in control of his own life. Get over these feelings of self-entitlement because they won't change diddly squat.
