Yeah man I really enjoyed Benoit in that period of time. One of my favorite fueds was when it was Austin vs. Jericho vs. Benoit-KOR 01. I thought it was classic when they would put the Walls of Jericho and the Crossface on him.

what i mostly remember about that time/period of matches rolling up austin and grabbing the tights so we all saw austin's pale ass. and then william regal noted on the next show that not only did benoit cheat, but he promoted nudity as well.

Wasn't the KOTR '01 match the one where Benoit injured his neck further?
Regardless, some solid matches there, and proof positive that Benoit was truly in his element when wrestling.

I am gonna watch those later. I remember loving them at the time but never went back and watched any of the Austin/Benoit matches since.

Benoit for doing what he did because he ruined his entire body of work for me, personally. I just don't have any interest in watching Benoit wrestle anymore because it just takes the fun out of it for me. With that said, those were some great matches indeed. This was around Austin's transition to his more mat based style that would be amped up with Angle later on. As a giant Austin mark, this was awesome to behold because it was Austin saying to Angle, Benoit, and Jericho and everyone else that HE could still GO and he was still THE MAN. Austin had a hell of a 2001 that's for sure.

Austin and Benoit had some great chemistry and it's a shame that they bailed out on the Jericho/Benoit push in favor of the Invasion (of course, it didn't help that Benoit got injured, so who knows what would have come from that).

Any combination of Benoit, Jericho and Austin made for great matches in '01.
