I got a 160GB WD External Hard Drive about a year and a half ago to transfer all of my files from my old computer. For some reason that I can't figure out, it stopped working for me about a month ago. Until yesterday, I couldn't see any file inside of it on my computer, though it remained connected to the computer. I bought a new hard drive today to try and get the files out of the old one, but it keeps freezing anytime I try to move a big folder (I need to move about 140GB of files to the new one). Anyone with advice on how I can possibly get this done without having to take it to a computer store?
Any help is truly appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure, if you've already done this (Sorry if you have), but transfer in chunks... So transfer all your music. Then your videos, then your photos, then some more stuff, then some more, untill everything has been transfered.
