What sort of metalcore Parkway Drive or Motionless In White? Nah they both suck big thumbs up on that one. Too much poser metal now days being passed off in all the sub genres. I just stick to Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza. Best metal band ever.

I've been into metal since i was about 8 yrs old. Got my first tape for christmas, Megadeth - Rust In Peace. Got into death metal a few years later when I first heard Obituary. Then came extreme metal with all the blast beats like Cryptopsy and Brodequin. I've heard it all. I gotta say, I hate, absolutely hate all the subgenre crap in metal. It was always Heavy Metal or Death Metal, maybe Thrash but that kinda fell into the Heavy Metal. Now there are so many people using all these sub genres and saying they only do metalcore or whatever other stupid names. I just say metal. Done and done. But then there is always poser metal like Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold lol

I am a nu-metal fan through and through, but I venture out to hardcore a little bit. I respect all metal subgenres and closely related offshoots, but most just aren't for me.

We're fixing to have another Queensryche all over. Yesterday, news broke of the new Ill Nino single. Laz Pina posted on FB that Shattered Sun singer Marcus Leal was the new vocalist of Ill Nino, and Sal Dominguez - formerly of Upon A Burning Body - was the new rhythm guitarist, and lead was now handled by Jess Dehoyos. Today, Ahrue Luster posted a screencap from Cristian Machado saying the following: [Edit added to emulate the screen cap ]

Haven't thought about them in a new capacity in a while, but did listen to "what comes around" the other day. I do not particularly like a band being called the same name with a different singer...I grew up on a certain voice, and that name will always ring with it.

So I'm currently having to copy all of my music to my computer because my phone somehow duplicated every song I had and filled up my memory to where I couldn't even use apps.

I checked them out on YouTube. They're all my kinda thing to be honest. I like stuff like Thy Art Is Murder and Suicide Silence, 'old' Asking Alexandria too. Very mixed bag as far as taste goes. If you're into female metal vocalists Arch Enemy and Jinjer are also really good.

Anyone else think we need a nu-metal type subgenre to reintroduce these kids to rock, bridging that rap and rock gap?

Anyone else think we need a nu-metal type subgenre to reintroduce these kids to rock, bridging that rap and rock gap? I really miss the nu-metal genre. I do too, but there are a couple options for us fans of the genre. We can do the nu-metalcore route, or some of the new wave of Nu-metal, or we can explore the genre and discover new bands that were killing it back then and we didn't even know it. I am hoping to one day finish making my database of all the nu metal american and canadian bands that I can track down, so I can have more to listen too.
