Getting this soon, I'll get Game's special edition for £5 more with a free sports car (In game unfortunately) and £5 at The Sims store as well as a tips book, the soundtrack (The Sims has a soundtrack?!) and a 2GB memory stick. Here's the link to the Sims 3 store, theres some cool free stuff like a Fanta fridge and a second town, plus some other stuff that costs, but you get $10 free for it when you register your game, which takes about 2 minutes. store.thesims3.com/

It looks fantastic. I love that you can go to town without any loading screens. I'm really considering buying this.

Here's a workaround to turning Story Progression off since the toggle in the game DOESN'T work.
For PC: 1) Find your game executable. It should be here: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin 2) Create a shortcut on your desktop to the TS3.exe. 3) Right-Click on the shortcut and choose “Properties” 4) In the top line “Target:” go to the end of the line and add this tag –disablestoryprogression **You need to make sure there is a space BEFORE the dash in your target line. 5) From this point on you will need to run your game from this shortcut and NOT through your launcher.
Turning SP off will make sure Sims wont randomly move out and disappear from town.

Is story priogression promotions e.t.c? Or is it just Sims randomly moving away?

Is story priogression promotions e.t.c? Or is it just Sims randomly moving away? They'll still age, get job promotions and have babies. Story Progression is messed up because it'll move in randomly generated families and delete existing ones to make room for them, even ones you've created. Single Sims will even have babies which makes no sense at all. Apparently this stops all that but still has some sort of "progression."

This is why I ownt be able to play it, myself. I only have 500MBs of RAM and thats maxed out with all the sticks i can put in it plus my processor sucks. My old comp that crashed would have played this no problem as i had it soley for video editing and such. Oh well, I'll end up getting a new comp sometime, i really need one for my editing projects.

My older brother bought it and it doesn't work on any computer in my house, which is odd because my other brother has a human flesh-powered, soul devouring Alienware supercomputer.

For anyone not sure if The Sims will run on their computer this website scans your computer and tells you how good it will run the game. Some people may be surprised with how well the Sims 3 runs on a not so good computer. www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtestAlso this game is great and a lot of fun but I hate that we now have to wait for all the good features from the Sims 2 Expansion Packs to come out in all new expansion packs.
