I haven't watched wrestling properly for like the longest time so I have no idea. I just came across this as I was reading some comments to a WWE video on YouTube. Help appreciated.

...Back when Hornswoggle was revealed to be Vince's son (which later turned out to be a hoax), Vickie Guerrero told him that being both a McMahon and the Cruiserweight Champion put him at too much risk, so she took the belt off him. It hasn't been seen since.

It's gone.
Big mistake on WWE's part IMO.
If done correctly (like it was early on in WWE) it could have been one of WWE's saving graces now.

Can't argue with you there JCF, but I think Hornswoggle ruins WWE altogether.....WWE was amazing when it had the Cruiserweight Division. I remember when there was like a 10 person cruiser match, blew me away tbh.

I think they should bring it back, but they dont have the talent to get it really going at the moment if you ask me.

Hornswoggle ruined it. Yup. Right after he ruined the Vince's son angle, but just before he ruined Finlay. Now he's ruining the credibility of RAW's midcard scene. I think WWE has moved on from the cruiserweight title to the point where it doesn't belong. There's no viable division on any brand. Besides, guys like Kendrick and Bourne deserve to be solid uppermidcarders one day, but that would never happen with the cruiserweight title to drag them to the small guy stigma. It's better off buried. |

Well, taking it away ruins the talent you can have there if you bring it back 'cause you end up having to push them. Some people who could form it now IMO the most exciting:
-Bourne
-Mysterio
-Guerrero
-Ryder
-Primo
-Kendrick
-Noble
-Helms
-Funaki
-Hawkins

wwe never used it properly. you'd think they were trying to help it, one sd! there'd be two cruiserweight matches, and then the next week it was gonezo.
it'd be great if wwe got their tag division back together like it was in 1998-2002. then bring back the cruiserweight.

Honestly the second Mysterio won the WHC, the CW title became pointless. I mean if a guy who is like 5'2'' and 180lbs soaking wet can be the WHC, why lower your standards and be the CW champ.....Eddie Guerrero killed the Cruiserweight Division

I don't know why people think bringing back the CW division will "save" the WWE, as if they're anywhere NEAR dying. Vince does not care about smaller wrestlers and a cruiserweight division. He didn't then, he won't now. Leave it dead.

The Cruiserweight division should remain dead. Like The Ripper said, you don't want to be labeled with the small guy tag. It will trap guys like Evan Bourne & Kendrick forever.
