I need to remove the KOTR TLL Lesnar head and the R3 billy gunn head.
Now, Ive taken an RA head off before and seen the tutorial on TTL head removal in the FAQ, but has anyone got any tips/info on removing these heads that i should be aware of? Im asking because I heard that TTLs can have different pegs or something along the lines of that.

The TTL peg is actually molded to the body so there is no way to take the peg out with the head. However if you put a TTL head on an RA or R3 body you have to hollow it out first. The easiest way would be with a dremmel (sp) tool

Right. Im not fussed about using the head as its for someone else nor do i need the peg, just id rather the body not be cracked so will the head come off okay without cracking the neck/torso?

I would always put the heads into hot water first then pop them off. I found TTL heads would break the peg off the body more often than not if it wasn't placed in warm water first. I used to boil the kettle, put the water in a bowl and hold the figure upside down in it for 20-30 seconds. Made it much easier to pop the head off and prevented damage.
If the head isn't coming of easily, warm it up more.
I think the R3 Gunn is the same as an RA style head and can just be popped off, although I know some of the early R3's were TTL head joints.

Exactly what I do, works everytime.

Like I told ya a while back Kaney. There are a lot of ways to pop off a head by the easiest by far is to use boiling water. Its a 100% that you wont break the peg or crack the neck by doing it that way

You could just heat it with a hairdryer. It's safer and half the time. By the time it takes you to heat the water in a mirowave you could have just used a hairdryer on it. Just hold it about 6-10 inches away from the figure and keep rotating the figure for 1-2 minutes and it'll be soft enough to pop off without damaging the figure. I find it safer than boiling, because when boiling the figure if the figure touches the sides or bottom of the pan/glass you are boiling it in the figure runs the risk of melting.
