After watching the awesomeness that his Peyton Hillis on youtube, it got me thinking about this...
Can anyone name a white RB or WR who actually matter?
Obviously Welker is a pretty good player, but c'mon... who's gonna cover the 'lil guy when "I don't know why I was eva scared of a guy named" Randy Moss is running 40's play in and play out... Stokley is/wasn't too bad, but again, he had Harrison and Wayne. McCaffrey was a complete player, better than Wayne Chrebet ( less injury prone is a better word for it)... Jordy Nelson could be something to watch for, but you see where I'm going.
Hillis will find a place this year, just not as the featured back, Hester's got the heart, but he's also got a very fast and a very old guy in front of him... And the recently traded Brian Leonard is making the move from Fullback to Scat-back will probably catch 30-40 balls and maybe rush for 300 yards... while valuable role players, none of these guys are "elite" backs...
Of course, the color of skin is irrelevant, however this is a good topic...
So who's going to be the Doug Williams of the white RB/WR?

There are plenty of decent WR's who are white.
Wes Welker, NE Anthony Gonzalez, IND Kevin Walter, HOU Matt Jones, (FA) Brian Robiskie, CLE Brandon Stokley, DEN
White RB's? Not so much. Peyton Hillis isn't anything special and wasn't even technically a running back.

Kevin Curtis, word.
And this is the perfect thread to remember Drew Bennett's monster 2004 where he had 1200 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The only white RB I can think of not mentioned is Jesse Lumsden in the CFL.

Brian Leonard was a beast in college. And i thought Robiskie was black? He is. My friends and I always joke, though, because some games he looks white and some games he looks black. Brian Leonard is more of a fullback than a running back, but he's a good example.

he is more of a fullback but he's battling for the second rb spot in Bengals camp this year, and i feel mostly because of a lack of depth, age and injuries (i mean, behind Cedric Benson, you have Kenny Watson, DeDe Dorsey, and rookies Bernard Scott and Marlon Lucky) he'll more than likely get the second nod, if not some starting time if Benson returns to the Benson we all knew and despised.

Like I said before this got deleted and moved. Steve Largent. And I think the UW QB will probably play WR in the NFL.

I think Sam McGuffie has plenty of talent, and potential. I can't wait to see what happens to him.
Also, I gotta say Wes Welker is the best white WR in the league at the moment.

I agree with Kody about Wes Welker being the best white WR in the league.
I also have to add that I think Anthony Gonzalez is a very good fit in Indy. He might not have amazing stats but it seemed like every time they needed a big play last year he was there making them.

No, he's talking about the very talented former Quarterback of the Arkansas Razorbacks... Also - Watch Peyton's last play of the season and tell me he's not special...

Also - Watch Peyton's last play of the season and tell me he's not special... The fact that the Broncos brought in about 20 running backs this off-seasons tells me about all I need to know about their thoughts on Peyton Hillis as a feature back.

Hey, did I say feature back? Read man... it's not hard Apparently being a 3rd-4th string RB means you're "special" now? Duhr...

Hey, did I say feature back? Read man... it's not hard Apparently being a 3rd-4th string RB means you're "special" now? Duhr... I don't think there is a single thing settled in Denver right now. Last I heard Josh McDaniels speak, LaMont Jordan was the front runner to start this year, and that won't happen. But he's a former Patriot so I guess he knows the offense. But they drafted Knowshon Moreno for a reason, and he WILL be an every down back eventually. Hillis will be relegated to fullback, which is his natural position, and maybe some goal line carries.
