During 1997, I believe. He had weekly segments like this where he would shoot on both the WWF and WCW, they mention it on the Monday Night Wars DVD.

i've always loved cornette and the words he spouts, but i don't think anyone takes him too seriously.

Yeah these were great then and are still great to watch today. He had maybe three or four of these "shoots". He had one about the Piper/Hogan cage match in 1997 that was billed as "the greatest cage match of all time" I believe. Which is funny because it was actually the slowest and worst. The last 5 mins of the show was basically the nWo taking out a fan that tried to help Piper.
There was also one (or it was the same) where he was talking about how the word "Icon" is overused in wrestling. I think that was his best.
It did lead to the NWA Angle...which went no where. But those few little skits he did got big reactions from the WWF Crowd.
