O.K, well I know that there's an 360 thread, but I didn't want to fill that up as these are pretty basic q's, and didn't want to plugg the thread with them.
So, I've been a PS2 user for years, and before that I had a PS1 so I've always had a PlayStation console, and I was planning on getting a PS3 this past Christmas but then that fell thorugh, really due to the cost. Now, I've played the 360 quite a few times, and tbh the controls really aren't that dfferent, so I started looking at the prices for 360s and was amazed at how low they were.
So, I was looking at getting the 60Gb, which I understand is the Pro console. However, is it worth gettin the Pro one if all I want to do is use the console, without any Internet use on the console, should I just get the Arcade one?
Also, which console is most prone to the Ring Of Death?
Oh, and thirdly, how hard is it to actually connect to the Internet and set it up to a TV?

But I've heard the 60g models have new hardware that supposed to eliminate the "RRoD" Hope this helped.

There is no console less prone to the RRoD. All of the new hardware has had changes made to make it less likely, but it's still possible. The Arcade system comes with only 512 MB of built in memory, and the cost of a hard drive is $100. You're better off buying a Pro, even if you're not going to play online, but to be honest, half of what makes the 360 the console it is, is the online.

If you buy the console brand new then there is a very slim chance of you getting the ring of death as new measures have been brought into the manufacturing of the newer consoles. As for what console to get, I would go with the 60GB one. This would allow you plenty of space for game demo's, music and saved games. As internet connection goes, it's very simple. All you need to do is simply connect the 360 to the computer by an ethernet cable. When linking to a TV it is done the same way as the PS2 would be, unless of course you have a HCMI cable. That cable will link into the back of the TV quite simply.

Yeah I personally would get the 60GB Pro system. Though Mole, the Arcade has 256MB internal, not 512MB. Also, you can get a Wireless Network Adapter, and that would connect the same way a computer would, to an unsecured network, although that is really frowned upon.

Also, which console is most prone to the Ring Of Death? Oh, and thirdly, how hard is it to actually connect to the Internet and set it up to a TV? It's almost scary how alike our stories are. I too had a PS1, upgraded to a PS2, and wanted to upgrade to a PS3 but couldn't due to price. I also played the 360 several times before buying it. My best advice for you is to buy one new, since new ones have less chance of breaking down (supposedly) and buying it new usually means you can shelve out a bit more to get some sort of extended warranty, dependent on where you choose to purchase the thing. I could go on for weeks about the hell I went through to get a working 360, but in the end I'll just sum it up as such: after a prolonged and incredibly frustrating battle from an online vendor, I went to my local Wal-Mart and bought an arcade system, having kept a 20GB HD, a wireless controller, and a headset from the online vendor due to a shipping error. If you have no plans to take the thing online, the Arcade version will do just fine. If you feel you need to invest in a HD, try and find one that suits your needs. If you intend the 360 to be a media hub housing all your favorite movies, games, music, etc. etc. etc., get a big one like the 60 GB or buy a Pro System. Also, hooking up to the internet is pretty simple. Just plug in an ethernet cable into the thing and hook it up to whatever it is that's managing your internet connection and you're good to go. You'll need to set up an Xbox LIVE account, and pay for it if you want a Gold account. It's pretty much a given that you'll need a Gold account because the things you're able to do with it far outweight the cost of a one-year subscription. All in all, the 360 really is the way to go for next-gen gaming IMO. As I said before, our stories are very similar, so I've got no problem saying that the 360 is well worth it.

Thanks man, I've actually got a place where I'm liking the price of it, (non-online) the 60Gb with 2 games for £200 which, atleast IMO is a ing good bargin, and one of the games is LOWM which I was going to buy anyway so its win win.
