Yep, well I'm getting bored of listening to the same songs on my iPod, and haven't really added anything new in a few weeks, so can anyone reccomend some songs for me?
Here's a list of what I like;
Rise Against Thursday Cancer Bats Pearl Jam Foo Fighters Nirvana Alter Bridge Shinedown KoRn
Yeah, just really any sort of Rock music, Punk aswell but I do hate Heavy Metal.
Thanks to anyone that can help

Listen and love. It's the song that turned me on to what is now my favorite band.

Hmm, you listen to stuff that I find pretty much dull. Here are some bands that should wake up your musical experience.
I'd have to say this is Porcupine Tree's darkest feeling album. This album was released a year or two ago and I fell in love with it...with most of their stuff actually. It's all different, interesting and fresh. I'd check out the song "Arriving somewhere but now here" it's quite a long song, messed up and beautiful.
This band took me forever to get into. I HATeD this band for the longest time. It wasn't until I was walking around at night in this small town that it completely hooked me. Also, it inspired me to write a small script for a friend.

If you really want to get into Alkaline Trio I suggest starting off with their "Goddamnit" Album. It still holds up as one of my top 5 to this day.

I also have to add "Maybe I'll Catch Fire", and the "Remains" and self titled compiliations to that list. Really, check anything out from them except for their latest "Agony & Irony". That album wasn't very good. But nonetheless, I love Alkaline Trio. -CMD

Try A Day to Remember and get back at me. Their OK, but there's just something that I don't like, I don't know if its that they sound a little too pop for me, or something, but they are O.K, and I'm sure I'd like atleast one of their songs, I'll keep checking them out

I don't get how people can love rock but hate metal, they are in reality almost the same.

A Day To Remember is not for you, they are very heavy/screamo. Personally I love them!
My suggestion to you, is Anti-flag they are very similar to Rise Against.
In fact, they had some joint songs with Rise Against not too long ago.

I think they might be a bit of an acquired taste, but I really like NOFX. Some might find Fat Mike's whiney voice offputting. Best thing to start off with would be "Punk in Drublic", then maybe one of their more recent albums. Aswell, if you have the patience for it, listen to "The Decline", it's 18 minutes long, but doesn't get boring or repetitive one bit. On the punk note, I would recommend the Descendents, aswell as the related, yet very underrated band ALL. -CMD

Breaking Benjamin. Hard rock/melodic band with lots of memorable dark/hard songs and even ballads. Amazing singer, amazing band.
