Monday 2nd April 2001
[21:00-21:05] - A full video package airs to Limp Bizkit's "My Way", recapping last night's epic WrestleMania X-Seven spectacular! It shows us everything, from the WWF Womens Championship match to the fantastic WWF Tag Team Championship TLC II match; from the Gimmick Battle Royal to the brutal bout Triple H and The Undertaker had; The eight-man tag team match to the Father vs Son Street Fight, and last but not least, the WWF Championship match with Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock, as Austin shockingly sided with Vince McMahon, celebrating with their hands held high as the package finished. The opening RAW is WAR video package aired, signalling the beginning of this program. Following the video package, we cut to the arena as pyrotechnics go off and Jim Ross and Paul Heyman are here to welcome us to Monday Night RAW! And it's time for what appears to be the start of a new dawn in the World Wrestling Federation as WrestleMania X-Seven turned out to be a great phenomenon! We are then cut off by the theme of the Chairman.
[21:05-21:17] - The theme of Vince McMahon plays throughout the Arena here in Ft Worth, as the crowd erupt in boos as the Chairman of the World Wrestling Federation and master manipulator, Vincent Kennedy McMahon began to strut down the rampway, a grin on his face tonight, and for obvious reasons. McMahon climbs into the ring as the crowd boo louder, the fans beginning to chant 'assh*le' in McMahon's direction whilst Vince takes a microphone from the ring announcer, Lilian Garcia. Vince laughs at the audience, saying that they can't get him down with their insulting chants of spite, because last night, he may of lost to his son, Shane McMahon, but the fact is that his son will not be able to make WCW as big a threat to the World Wrestling Federation as Eric Bischoff or Ted Turner once made it, Shane will treat WCW like it was a toy, he will get bored of it in time, and only the father will be laughing then! Vince goes on to talk about how he has caused a great echo throughout the wrestling world by becoming the business partner of one, Stone Cold Steve Austin! The crowd boo extremely loud as McMahon mentions Austin, introducing our new WWF Champion out to the ring for the first time! "Glass Shattered" by Disturbed plays as the 'Texas Rattlesnake' storms out to the ring wearing his normal attire, entering the ring and wasting no time in shaking McMahon's hand and taking the microphone from him. Austin begins to talk about how he doesn't need to explain himself to the audience, calling them all jackasses who didn't see it coming! Austin begins to talk about how he's walked in and out of this ring time after time, and god damn he's sick of arrogant little snot-nosed bastards whining like Steve is their best friend. Austin tells us all that he's in a giving mood, so he's willing to give The Rock his rematch whenever the hell he wants it, he doesn't really give a damn, personally. The Rock's theme then plays as the crowd begin to pop loudly, Rock walking out to the entranceway and telling Austin that he can come out here, he can yell, he can sing or dance, but The Rock wants to kick Stone Cold and Vince's ass in one night and take back his WWF Championship! The crowd pop enormously as Austin tells Rock in a buzzkill moment that he can't have everything! Vince takes the microphone from Stone Cold, telling Rock that he's in a giving mood aswell, and he's willing to make a match for tonight; if Rock can find himself a partner, he can meet Austin and the Chairman himself in a tag team match tonight, and if Rock is to pin either of them, he can have his WWF Championship rematch at Backlash! The crowd roar as Rock nods his head in response! It's The Rock and a partner of his choosing to fight Steve Austin and Vince McMahon tonight!
[21:17-21:21] -
Commercial Break #1
[21:21-21:22] - We cut to the backstage hallway as The Rock is seen sipping on a bottle of water as Billy Gunn slowly approaches Rock. He goes to ask Rock something, presumably to be his partner for tonight, but Rock puts his hand out in Billy's face. He tells Gunn that he's sorry, but this didn't work two years ago, so why would it work out now. Gunn looks dissappointed as the crowd laugh.
[21:22-21:29] -
The APA and Test with Jacqueline defeated Right To Censor with Steven Richards This was a quick opening contest here, to kick off WWF RAW is WAR in the ring as Test was coming off of a loss last night against Eddie Guerrero, whereas the APA were resuming their feuding with the not-very-popular Right To Censor members, The Goodfather, Bull Buchanan and Val. Bradshaw and Buchanan started things off as Buchanan managed to take Bradshaw down after Bradshaw hammered away at Bull a few times. The Goodfather got the tag as he came in and wore down Bradshaw, hitting the popularized [thanks to Bradshaw] Fallaway slam, but that got a near fall. Val got a tag as he nailed the Russian legsweep and attempted to end it with the Money Shot, but Bradshaw got his knees up and tagged in Test who went in there, knocked Steven Richards off of the apron and the APA began to fend off the illegal Goodfather and Buchanan! Val blocked a punch from Test, but walked right into Test's trap, and the Pumphandle Slam from Test finished Val off for the three!
**1/4
[21:29-21:30] - Test celebrated in the ring as the WWF European Champion, Eddie Guerrero was shown standing on the rampway, Test signalling that he wants his title back and he wants it back quickly! Eddie looked concerned. Meanwhile, the APA continued to trade blows at ringside with Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather.
[21:30-21:30] - We go to the backstage area as Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley is shown walking down a corridor, as Trish Stratus is seen also wandering down a corridor, and Jim Ross and Paul Heyman hype up a match between the two being up next!
[21:30-21:34] -
Commercial Break #2
[21:34-21:38] - The theme of the wife of one Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley plays into the arena as the crowd begin to boo. Stephanie McMahon comes out wearing a rather expensive attire, which seems pretty daring considering that Stephanie is supposed to be fighting Trish Stratus in just a few moments. Stephanie says that she refuses to participate in a match with the biggest skank on the block! The crowd boos immediately upon hearing that, then finding cheat heat, insulting the Texas audience here, before saying that she has found somebody who would be very happy to take her place in competing tonight. The Commissioner of the World Wrestling Federation, William Regal then walks out to his jolly old music, a grin on his face and wearing wrestling attire, as Regal tells Stephanie that it'd be his honor to wrestle tonight, even if it is in the town of bumbling idiots. Trish Stratus' theme then plays as Trish tells Regal point blank that she isn't stepping into the ring with a pervert! The crowd pops at that as Trish tells Stephanie that she has also found a replacement for this match, before the theme of Chris Benoit plays into the arena loudly!
[21:38-21:45] -
Chris Benoit with Trish Stratus defeated William Regal with Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley This was a great match here between two superstars who must have competeed all over the world. They have had many good matches in the past, and this was no real exception as Chris Benoit brought damage to William Regal, giving the Commissioner some hard knife-edged chops to the pale chest! Regal cowered out of the ring, but Stephanie comedically slapped him on the previously chopped chest, ordering he get back in the ring! Regal began to fire back, snapmaring Benoit and then delivering a knee to the spine of Chris. Regal further roughed Benoit up with a series of submission moves, trying to weaken Benoit up so he can trap the 'Rabid Wolverine' in the Regal Stretch submission. But when it came around for Regal to attempt it, Benoit tossed Regal into the turnbuckle, and he rebounded backwards to get nailed with a German suplex, bridged for the win!
***1/4
[21:45-21:46] - Chris Benoit begins to celebrate his victory as William Regal rolls out of the ring. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley looks pissed off as Trish Stratus smirks, laughing at McMahon throwing a fit on the opposite side of the ring.
[21:46-21:50] -
Commercial Break #3
[21:50-21:51] - The Rock is shown again as he's this time reading his autobiography, 'The Rock Says' as he is interrupted by Crash Holly, as he innocently taps on Rock's shoulder. Crash asks Rock if he's looking for a partner before being cut off by his cousin, Hardcore Holly! The two shove each other before fighting on the floor over who's going to team with Rock! Molly then appears, apologizing to Rock for her cousins' behavior. Rock then smiles and says it's okay. Rock whispers to the screen about Molly being one hot momma. The crowd get a laugh out of that.
[21:51-21:58] -
Chris Jericho defeated Perry Saturn with Terri to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship This was a pretty solid match here, as Chris Jericho was defending his WWF Intercontinental Championship against Perry Saturn, as Saturn started off with some clubbing blows to the upper body of Y2J, but Jericho began to fire back as he rediscovered his momentum, knocking Saturn down several flying forearms and shoulder blocks, Saturn trying to keep up with the hyperactive champion, getting nailed with a dropkick whilst on the apron. Jericho kept on top of Saturn for a pretty long time before Saturn managed to deliver a stiff forearm to the nose of Jericho, and Saturn went to work on the facial area of Jericho for the rest of the match. Saturn delivered the Fisherman-Suplex, but Y2J managed to kick out still, then when Saturn was arguing with the official, Jericho rolled Saturn up, stood up and turned the pinfall attempt into the Walls of Jericho! Saturn would then tap out!
**3/4
[21:58-21:59] - Chris Jericho begins to celebrate his win over Perry Saturn as Terri attends to Saturn. Jericho takes his WWF Intercontinental Championship and heads up the rampway, but when about to leave, he is taken down by a clothesline from a spiteful William Regal! Regal kneels over Jericho and delivers several stiff forearms to the face of Jericho, eventually cutting him open! William stomps on Jericho before leaving.
[21:59-22:03] -
Commercial Break #4
[22:03-22:08] -
Kane defeated Haku to retain the WWF Hardcore Championship This was actually a pretty cool match here, for what it was. Haku brought out the WCW World Hardcore Championship with him, to which Paul Heyman cleverly noted that Haku was under a WCW contract and won the title before the contract expired and Haku appeared in the WWF for the first time at the Royal Rumble. That WCW World Hardcore Championship looked so much more prestigious than the WWF version. Haku managed to try and stay on top of Kane, delivering some hard shots to Kane and using a mop and chrome bucket on the 'Big Red Machine'. Haku then went for the Tonga Death Grip, but Kane grabbed a steel chair and slammed it into the skull of Haku! That's when Raven tried rushing down the rampway to attack Kane, taking advantage of the 24/7 rule, but Kane delivered a big boot to Raven, then hitting a Chokeslam on Haku for the win!
**1/2
[22:08-22:09] - The 'Big Red Machine' set off his pyrotechnics as Kane grabbed his WWF Hardcore Championship. Raven was seen at ringside, his hands gripping a singapore cane, hiding from Kane! Kane rolled over the top rope, landing on his feet, then getting slammed in the cranium with the cane! Raven tackled Kane with a clothesline and covered as the official counted, but Kane tossed Raven backwards, causing the opportunist to run for the hills!
[22:09-22:12] - The Undertaker was shown pulling up on his motorcycle at the arena, as the crowd go nuts for the 'American Badass'! Undertaker steps off of his motorcycle, asking a nearby road agent, Pat Patterson if he has seen Triple H. Patterson tells 'Taker that he strangely hasn't appeared for the show, tonight. 'Taker grins in laughter, telling Pat to keep up the good work back here, while he can keep up the good work in the ring. Patterson laughs and scurries along, 'Taker then removing his shades. "Well would you look who it is..." 'Taker grins as Stone Cold Steve Austin, the WWF Champion walks up to him. Austin asks 'Taker how things are going as 'Taker asks Austin why he's being so nice all of a sudden, then complimenting on the WWF Championship hanging from his shoulder. Undertaker tells Austin to quit the chit-chat, demanding a shot at his belt. Austin tells 'Taker that he can have one, but only on the terms that he does not team with The Rock tonight if Rock asks him. 'Taker looks confused, accepting, then telling Austin that he will meet him in the ring!
[22:12-22:13] - Edge and Christian head down the rampway with the WWF Tag Team Championships, as they will be joining commentary with Jim Ross and Paul Heyman up next!
[22:13-22:17] -
Commercial Break #5
[22:17-22:23] -
The Dudley Boyz with Spike Dudley defeated X-Factor with Albert by disqualification This was actually a nice match though it was pretty short. The Dudley Boyz were on their way to the ring as we returned from the commercial break, and X-Factor were already in the ring, the talented duo of X-Pac and Justin Credible. Unfortunately for X-Pac, he started things off with Bubba Ray Dudley and was bombarded by 'X-Pac Sucks' chants from this Ft Worth crowd here, in Texas. D-Von Dudley got the tag as Bubba seemed to dominate X-Pac in the early moments of the match, but that soon changed as Justin Credible got the tag and D-Von was double-teamed by X-Factor, getting nailed with stereo super kicks, and D-Von never thoroughly recovered after that. Bubba got the tag after a few minutes of X-Factor dominating, as he went in there only to be derailed by the big man, Albert!
**1/2
[22:23-22:25] - Bubba Ray Dudley walked right into Albert as the big man climbed into the ring and delivered a chokebomb on the larger member of the Dudley Boyz. The official got tossed out of the ring by X-Pac as Justin Credible delivered a super kick knocking D-Von Dudley's head almost clean off! X-Factor stood tall in the ring as Edge and Christian congratulated them from the announce position, entering the ring with their WWF Tag Team Championships. That's when Spike Dudley courageously attempted to make somewhat of a rescue, delivering one shot to X-Pac, then Justin but got gorilla press slammed up onto the ringside area by big Albert! The crowd booed before the Hardy Boyz rushed down to the ring, causing Edge and Christian to flee and taking X-Pac and Justin Credible down! A double dropkick to Albert sent Albert down, through the ropes! The Hardys attended to their rivals from last night's TLC II, the Dudleys as we cut away!
[22:25-22:27] - We cut to the backstage hallway as Kurt Angle was shown in the locker room, just pretty much hanging out before Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley found him, asking Angle what the hell he was doing tonight. Angle tells Stephanie in description, saying he drank some milk, went for a jog, went to the gym, then came here. Stephanie takes the pint of milk out of Angle's hand, telling Kurt he's a former WWF Champion, and he should of been here to see how embarrassed she was as Chris Benoit defeated her representative earlier tonight! Kurt tells Stephanie not to worry and that he'll take care of Chris on SmackDown. Angle reaches for his milk, but Stephanie walks away with it!
[22:27-22:30] - We go to Jonathan Coachman as he is standing by with the former WWF Champion, The Rock! Rock gets his usual ovation, the 'Rocky' chant and all, as Coach asks Rock about how things have been the last few days. Rock questions Coach and mimmicks him, asking him how he thinks Rock has been the last few days. Rock saves Coach the thought as he says he's been ran down by the boss and his new kissass, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he's about to give Coach a treat but Coach has looked at the floor, cover his eyes and count to twenty! Coach gullibly follows Rock's orders, Rock delivering Coach a good kick up the rear! Rock takes the microphone for himself, talking about how he's been looking for a partner to team with, and there's no man who's been smart enough for his liking! He goes through a random list of WWF failed gimmicks, like Sgt Slaughter, Diesel, Razor Ramon, not even the Shockmaster or Glacier! Rock tells us he's dissappointed before Essa Rios suddenly walks past the screen. Rock looks at him, thinks for a moment before shaking his head and turning back to the camera, cutting his signature catchphrase!
[22:30-22:34] -
Commercial Break #6
[22:34-22:38] - The theme of Vince McMahon plays throughout the arena again as the Chairman of the World Wrestling Federation struts out, in similar fashion to earlier on, wearing his wrestling attire. The Chairman confidently grabs a microphone as he approaches ringside, telling Lilian Garcia that he's taking care of this one. He introduces the WWF Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin as he walks down the rampway and taunts on each turnbuckle corner of the ring. McMahon tells us all that it doesn't appear as though The Rock has found a partner, so in the event of this, the match will now be a handicap match. But at that point, the theme of Shane McMahon plays throughout the arena, and he dances out to the rampway where the theme of The Rock plays! The Rock and Shane McMahon rush down to the ring as we cut away!
[22:38-22:42] -
Commercial Break #7
[22:42-22:55] -
The Rock and Shane McMahon defeated Vince McMahon and Steve Austin This was a superb main event here, as it put together two of the more larger matches from last night's great WrestleMania X-Seven encounter, in The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shane McMahon vs Vince McMahon, then combined it into one big bout. Shane and Vince of the McMahons started off, trading blows as Shane kept in the fight with his father, Vince using power and Shane using speed! Shane would eventually knock Vince down with a clothesline, but Stone Cold Steve Austin, the sadistic rattlesnake knocked Shane's head off almost with a clothesline! Vince McMahon began to choke away at his soon, Shane soon beginning to bleed from the mouth as Rock struggled, trying to reach in to Shane to make a tag and make the save! Austin almost nailed the Stunner, but Shane slid backwards and fell into Rock! Rock rushed into the ring and took out both Austin and spinebustered Vince! Austin tried to go for the Stunner at this point, but Rock shoved him into the ropes, and then Rock nailed the Rock Bottom on Austin for one..two...three!
***
[22:55-22:57] - The Rock began to celebrate his victory as Stone Cold Steve Austin rolled out of the ring! Austin collected his WWF Championship and a steel chair as Shane McMahon tried to reach his feet, only for Vince to drag him out to the floor! Austin slammed a steel chair into the skull of Rock as Austin then joined Vince on the outside, with the Chairman delivering ruthless shot after ruthless shot on Shane! Austin grabbed his chair and bounced it off the skull of Shane as Vince placed the chair seat around the neck of Shane, Austin whipping Shane into the ring post! Shane was left struggling for air, coughing up blood as Stone Cold and Vince McMahon stood their arms in the air as RAW is WAR went off the air!
