Lee's Toy Review #202 Price Guide News Mentions WWF Hasbro
The latest issue of Lee's Toy Review (#202) has mentioned the WWF Hasbro line. The section of the magazine called 'price guide news' mentions the fact that some years after the line was on the shelves the figures are still popular. It also mentions the fact that some of the key pieces have gone up in value in particular -
Series 1 - Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, Smash Series 2 - Dusty Rhodes, Honky Tonk Man, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Demolition Tag Team, The Rockers Tag Team Series 3 - Earthquake, Typhoon, The Ultimate Warrior Series 4 - Legion of Doom, The Undertaker Series 6 - Papa Shango Series 8 - Bret Hart, The Undertaker Mail Away - Hulk Hogan Red Tights
More good news on the Hasbro collecting front!
I saw this on the awesome web site the wrestling collector. I have to say I have noticed a lot of activity as of late with the Hasbro line. On certain sites I have seen Hasbro figures selling out with very large prices tags, its not really shocking since the Hasbro fan base is so strong but its still kind of like whoa, its been like 15 years since Hasbro ended and its still so popular.
could you guys imagine if WWE signed with Hasbro over Mattel and they just picked up right with series 12, WOW. I bet every figure would go up in price, all the non-hasbro fans would probably start a collection right away.

I assume Lee's is talking MOC/MIB prices.
Can't fully agree with them.
Series 1: Andre and for some reason Akeem always demanded a higher price. Lee's others are quite regular figs. Series 2: We all know Dusty demands a higher price, again the others are regular figs. Series 3: Warrior always was the price fetcher from this series. Earthquake's might have risen after John Tenta's dead, Typhoon is regular methinks. Series 4: LOD never was cheap (nor were Nasty Boys), Undertaker once again is a regular fig. Series 6: Papa Shango; not sure there... Series 8: again; not sure. Mail-away: Hogan was very different and demanded a high price, but I always thought Undertaker was the most expensive.
I wonder why these are missing: Akeem, Rude, Hogan 4, Macho 4, black/silver Michaels, purple Razor and the entire green cards?

maybe ruby, lee's guide has listed the ones which have gone up the most in price. I think Typhoon on english card is quite hard to find.

I read the Lee's Toy Review article and they certainly do focus on the above Series 1 thru 8 MOC. Its in the section price guide news, no mention of the green card series - unless they are just presuming people know that they are in demand.... Still good to see that WWF Hasbro is getting coverage in magazines like this...... it does feel like the last few months have seen another surge in Hasbro collecting! I'm hoping one of the toy magazines decides to do another guide to Hasbro soon - i'm sure we'd all have a read!

Yeah I agree, Hasbro are definately more popular at the moment. It seems to go through changes every couple of months, it all go's quiet for a while and you pick some up fairly cheap, and then it go's mad again and the prices rocket.
Some of the above are geting harder to find in my opinion, like Typhoon/earthquake and Hogan 2.
Then there's others which don't seem as hard to find but are rising in price, such as both Brets for example.

I'm surprised the Dustys hold their value. There is always quite a few on ebay where say the Warrior 3 will only be on there rarely.

Undertaker mail away is probably the rarest. The Hulk Hogan is always on ebay.

Over the last couple of years, in my opinion, i have seen far more Dustys than Warrior #3..
Not saying this is right, and i know certain go for MORE than others, but this is HOW I HAVE seen it PERSONALLY (roughly) over the last year or two, excluding Mailaways etc..
1.Warrior 3 2.Dusty (NON S/S) 3.Dusty (S/S) 4.Demolition (S/S) 5.Demolition (NON S/S) 6.Andre The Giant 7.Evil Crush 8.Million Dollar Man (S/S) 9.Bret Hart 2 10.Typhoon 11.Shawn Michaels (White on Blue Card) 12.Undertaker 2
I'm Sure everyone wont agree with some of these, but as i said since i started collecting again these have been the ones I have seen the least off.
Cheers

I have to say, reading this board over the last couple of days has peaked my interest in hasbro figures again. I think i'll pull my collection out tomorrow and have a look for the ones I need.

Theres no doubt Dustys are going for more money than Warrior 3s at the moment, but you also definately see more of them. Anyone agree?

i definitely agree, and i think you see more dusty's because all the foreign carded warrior 3's are cheap alternatives to the US/English card. If there were foreign carded dustys, i doubt even he would break 2 bills. bk
