WWA News & Notes WWA would like to announce the official signing of John Morrison and Chavo Guerrero, Jr. to the WWA roster. Chavo will be joining the Light heavyweight division while John Morrison has added a few pounds to his fight weight to compete in the Welterweight division.
Look for WWA's next episode, #6, to go live tomorrow night. Jack Swagger has announced that he will react to the arrival of Brock Lesnar in WWA. Additionally, William Regal is said to be running hot after losing to Edge last week, and he has not been happy with anyone -- even Paul Burchill, who may have inadvertently cost him the title!
WWA has aligned itself with the United Text Feds of WF and will now represent the midwest territory stretching from the Dakotas to Michigan as well as south to Kentucky. WWA is proud to join the UTF and hopes to represent it well.
Combined with WWA joining the UTF, preliminary plans have been put into action for a name change. The new name will be revealed with Episode #8, the final episode before End of the Line.

Finished up the planning for my fed through the end of the month. I really like how the pay-per-view is planned, and I am excited to see how everyone takes to it. Hopefully, WWA #7 will be up by the end of the week. Then, next week, we debut the new name and logo with Eps. #8 and that's the final lead in to "End of the Line." So, stay tuned!

News & Notes
The new website will debut at midnight tonight, and WWA #8 will air tomorrow under the brand's new name. World Wrestling Athletics will stay in tact as the company name, but the show will be re-branded and we will focus mainly on the new name more than WWA. Titles will not be re-named.
Preliminary discussions have been made with three new talents: Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder, and Ezekiel Jackson. All three will hopefully be signed by the start of the new year.
One new athlete has been signed, and he is a former WWF superstar and champion. He should debut, as well, in the new year.

Thanks for the reply, Luke. Yeah, I had always wondered how that would work, and I think it turned out OK. I think I am gonna add like 2-3 house shows a month to my schedule in a similar fashion. WWA-NC News & Notes- End of the Line is live on WF free-per-view. Click here to view the show, and please, leave a reply! - WWA-NC will be taking a short break from regular programming, but returning again on Jan. 6 with the debut of Northern Combat on Fox Sports North. The show will be of a similar format to our current shows, but the new channel will help with our movement to a regional broadcast. - This Thursday, I will be posting the "Best of WWA 2009" special which will feature a very special announcement by Commissioner Malenko about WWA-NC's return to PPV next month. I'll put that in THIS thread, because it's not going to be anything too special. - Preliminary work on Wrestlympics has begun.

A little more news and notes:
- We can now confirm that former SLAM! Wrestling and FCW star Jay Roclass and his valet, Maryse Ouellet have signed official contracts with WWA-NC. Apparently, a debut promo was filmed to air with WWA-NC #8, but was scrapped at the last minute. After a positive reaction to his debut at the WWA-NC house show last week, WWA officials offered them both official deals. When he will debut on television is to be determined.
- D'Angelo Dinero will be given some time off following his match with Christian at End of the Line. Apparently, he tweaked his knee in the match and the training staff wants to play it safe.
- Contract discussion with previously mentioned Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder, and Ezekiel Jackson continue, and it appears Ziggler is the farthest along after appearing at WWA-NC's house show last week. Nothing is set in stone as of yet with any of these athletes.
- Rumors swirl that WWA-NC's debut on Fox Sports North well feature the debuts of two major stars. What is known at this time is that WWA President, Shane McMahon, will be making a special appearance.
- WWA officials continue to work on the posibility of adding another brand to the company alongside Northern Combat. Stay tuned for that.
I've started working on some preliminary work for January's storylines and shows. It should be good stuff.

I feel like things are going to be a little rushed in January, storyline-wise, because I am trying to do things in a short period of time, but I think it will all work out once I'm through with Wrestylmpics. Hopefully, it works out okay. I've started preliminary work on all storylines through Wrestlympics, which will include some non-tournament WWA action on Nights 3 and 4. Stay tuned for more announcements on that. And I'll be posting the WWA Best of 09 show in this thread some time tomorrow.

Here is the final WWA-NC show of 2009. There's no (new) matches, so I'll just post it in here. It's supposed to air tomorrow night at midnight, but I'll be busy the next few days, so you get it early.
The most important part of this show is the announcement of the WWA Tag Team Championship tournament that will be held in just over two weeks at our January PPV, Numbers Game. Enjoy, and once again, thanks for the support of WWA.
WWA-NC End of the Year Special
Brent Musberger welcomes everyone to the show from a studio in Minneapolis, Minn. He is first joined by Lance Storm for a sit-down interview. The winner of the End of the Line gauntlet is humble but proud of his accomplishments, saying he came back to Northern Combat because he saw the focus on the sports aspect and wanted to prove that he still had what it took. He said he would not be jumping to cash in his title shot right away. He was going to let it soak in, but he did want to see someone other than a heavyweight compete for the WWA Championship. When they were done with the interview, Brent presented Storm with a plaque as the winner of the WWA Comeback Athlete of the Year as voted for by Northern Combat's fans. Storm said it was an honor, and he hoped next year will be even better.
While Brent sits back at the studio, Anthony LaPanta of Fox Sports North is at an NC live event in downtown Minneapolis, and he catches up with Hurricane, fresh off a victory. LaPanta announces that Hurricane has been named WWA Light Heavyweight of the Year. The champion says he isn't surprised, because he is the best the company has -- and will ever -- see.
Brent Musberger welcomes everyone back to the studio, and he segways into a video package highlighting the greatest matches in 2009 from WWA, including: Jack Swagger vs. Shelton Benjamin, Time Limit Draw (WWA 1), William Regal def. MVP (WWA 3), Jack Swagger def. Paul Burchill (WWA 5), Lance Storm wins End of the Line Gauntlet (EotL PPV), and Brock Lesnar def. Edge & Jack Swagger (EotL PPV).
Paul Burchill joins Brent in the studio and they announce that Swagger vs. Burchill from WWA 5 was named the Match of the Year in WWA. Musberger says it was almost a tie between that and the triple threat from End of the Line, but the highly competitive mat clinic won out. Musberger congratulates Burchill, who says that whenever Swagger wants a rematch, he's ready. Musberger then announces that we will be seeing the Match of the Year, in its entirety right now:
WWA MATCH OF THE YEAR: Jack Swagger def. Paul Burchill (WWA 5) In an effort to prevent any further matches having to be re-done, Commissioner Malenko sent C.M. Punk, Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, Lance Storm, Matt Hardy, and John Cena out to the ringside area, preventing anyone from entering from backstage, including William Regal, who tried to accompany his partner to the ring. The security detail proved to be only a momentary distraction for Burchill, who also had the crowd to deal with as they heavily favored the champion. While both men battled it out, hitting their opponent with heavy offense, neither could lock in a finishing maneuver until the very final minutes of regulated time. Burchill seemed to be in firm control as he placed Swagger on the top rope, setting up for an elevated C-4, but the "All-American American" reversed the situation into an elevated Swagger Bomb! The champ rolled over and pinned Burchill for the three count and the victory. (13:12)
Back at the NC live event in Minneapolis, Anthony LaPanta catches up with Christian, the Welterweight champion. He congratulates Christian on being named the Welterweight Athlete of the Year. Christian says it is a real honor to be named that, and he takes pride in it, but he knows that WWA did not start at the beginning of the year, and he wants to have a full year under his belt before he calls himself anything. LaPanta again congratulates the humble champion before sending it back to Brent.
John Cena & M.V.P. are with Brent Musberger as we return to the studio. Brent announces that Commissioner Malenko is in the house and he has an announcement that effects Cena & MVP. Malenko walks out from backstage with a pair of matching title belts draped over his shoulders, the WWA's Tag Team Championship. He makes the official announcement: "While WWA's singles comeptitors are preparing for the Wrestlympics in the first week of Februrary, our tag teams will be preparing for the tag team title tournament. Northern Combat and World Wrestling Athletics return to pay-per-view on Jan. 17 with Numbers Game, where we crown the first ever WWA Tag Team Champions." Malenko announces the first teams to join the bracket: Cena & MVP, the Hart Dynasty, and the World's Greatest Tag Team.
Brent tries to send the show back to Anthony LaPanta, but Chris Jericho has hijacked the show downtown, and he is in the ring, demanding that LaPanta award him the Athlete of the Year honors. LaPanta says he does not have the authority to do that, especially considering Jack Swagger was voted the Athlete of the Year! This brings out Edge, who demands a recount -- he should be Athlete of the Year. LaPanta says Edge will have to settle for a different honor, Heavyweight of the Year! This brings out Jack Swagger, who says he defeated Edge and should be both Heavyweight and Athlete of the Year. The two stare each other down, but then turn their attention to the pouting Jericho. Edge hits him with a spear, and Swagger adds a Swagger Bomb for good measure. As they push Jericho from the ring, the clock hits midnight in the central time zone, and confetti falls in the arena as Edge and Swagger celebrate.
We go back to the studio, where Brent Musberger thanks everyone for watching. One final video package highlights the 2009 year for Northern Combat.
