Hey guys I'm new to the forum but certainly not new to WWF Hasbros. I've been collecting since they were originally released. Over the years I've come across a few variants and I'd like to show you guys and see what you think. First up is the Funskool Rowdy Roddy Piper. As you can see there are many differences, including all black boots with no white socks, and completely different plastics and paint used. The Funskool version is on the left. As you can see the Funskool Rowdy Roddy Piper features an inferior paint job, and utilizes cheaper material, but I think it's an interesting variation on the Piper figure. Next up is one of my favorite variations and an extremely rare piece. It's a Macho King Randy Savage figure without his mustache. It really is a unique figure and I know there has been similar figures out there without their mustache such as Akeem and Slaughter, but this is the first Savage I have ever seen like this. if anyone else has one, please let me know. The last variant I have is a Yokozuna with a head variation. Not only does the head appear to be made with a different quality of plastic, but the hair tie on the back of his head is black instead of the usual white. My best guess is that this is the Funskool version of Yokozuna, but I have never seen another one out of card, so I'm curious if anyone else has one like this so I can confirm that this is, or is not the Funskool version. Thanks for looking and if anyone has any of these I'd like to know, because i'm always curious to see the different production variants that pop up from time to time.

great varients there, id love the funskools on good quality cards but they usually come battered and torn.

that Macho Man is pretty cool - what's the story behind it? where did you get it from etc?

I'll check on the Yoko to see if it's the Funskool version.
Very nice Savage error, never saw that one before either.

I have a Luger like that and a few others. I have been trying to get to the tote since Maniac posted the color variant on Warrior. I think its fading on the Yoko head though. Its pretty common with Bigelows too maybe the red series tried a different plastic for that run ?

Yep the yoko head definitely goes light if left in sunlight. Not sure how the hair tie is explained though. The funskools seem to slightly vary, Razor has a red necklace, warriors pants are slightly different etc.
Shame that savage isn't carded. Now that I would pay a lot of money for.

Thanks for all the comments guys, and thanks to Hasbromaniac for going on the case to see what's up with the Yokozuna, I'm curious to hear the verdict.
To answer a few questions, the Macho King figure I got back in 1992 at a now defunct store called "Toys for All" in Irvington, New Jersey. I immediately noticed the missing mustache when i opened it, and eventually got a new one. Thankfully I never got rid of it. Unfortunately that was 17 years ago and I had no intentions of keeping my Macho King carded, nor did I even notice the missing stache until i opened it. I never really had an outlet to show the figure, so when I found this place I was happy to see there were many knowledgeable Hasbro collectors.
Meatybat, I as well have a Lugar with a lighter head, which appears to be color fading due to age, I'll post pics of it compared to a normal one soon. Over the years many figures have begun the slow process of discoloration and I think some figures are mistaken as variants because of this.
As for the Yokozuna, it does appear that the head has been discolored due to age. However, the thing that really intrigues me about it is not the color of the head, but the color of the hair tie, which is not painted its usual white. My best guess is that it's a Funskool due to many of them featuring inferior painting and material. This could explain the easily faded plastic in the head, and the short cut taken to exclude the white hair tie. Although if people are saying they have US Yokozuna's with faded heads, than this could just be a factory error that did not receive the proper white spray application to the head. Either way I suggest some of you guys check your Yokos to see what's up with them.

Maniac had a bunch of the paint app mistakes and I have a few also . The paint jobs are usually just horrible on the Funskool for the most part. All this has made me start digging for mine now , LOL.

Not a Funskool Yoko, as mine has the white tie and the paint is inferior, way inferior to the 2 pictured pieces.
Unfortunately the white could have worn off or it's a factory error. The fading on the head is probably a plastic deterioration though.
