So long story short. I sold an old iPod on ebay, and the guy who bought it never paid for it. I contacted eBay, relisted the item, and sold it to a young lady who actually just lives a few towns away.
Anyways, everytime I log into eBay now, it prompts me to leave feedback on the Original transaction AKA the one where the guy didn't pay. The only problem is that the only 2 options given are:
Leave Positive Feedback
Leave Feedback Later
Now I've already contacted eBay about the seller and the transaction, hince why I was allowed to do the Second Chance offer thing. I wait the 7 days required, and it's been almost 2 weeks since that.
Any ideas why I'm only allowed to leave positive feedback on this transaction? Surely it can't be because I'm the seller, because I've given negative feedback as a seller before.

What the is the point of that? The dude didn't pay, didn't attempt to pay, and didn't attempt to contact me after trying to contact him. He has done absolutly nothing to deserve a positive rating. Screw this......I'll wait this one out.

Screw this......I'll wait this one out. It's listed there because he won the auction from you. It doesn't matter if they paid you or not. The leave feedback option will be there. You can always delete the listing from the leave feedback list.

Yeah only buyers can leave negative and neutral feedback in addition to positive. Personally I hate it as I'm sure more people have bid and never bought/paid as a result. Pisses the sh*t outta me to tell the truth.

Give him the posotive feedback, just leave him a really bad comment about his parents or something.

I know why the feedback feature is there. I'm not debating that. I'm simply trying to figure out the logic behind requring sellers to leave positive feedback only.

I imagine sellers abused the system by leaving bad feedback for buyers who did their part within the allowed timeframe (including what was mentioned in the auction) but not what the seller preferred. That or the only reasonable thing for sellers to leave bad feedback for was the buyer not paying, like in your situation. However, I would think that the option to leave feedback at all would have been removed in cases like yours where you reported the buyer.

I just went into my settings and turned off any Feedback notifications. Out of sight, out of mind.
Still kind of pointless.

That sucks. That person deserves 1 * and you should be able to give it to him for not paying!

Not having negative feedback as a seller if totally ridiculous. I can't wait until the next site that is better than ebay comes along.
