in 1999, I bought a mint on damaged card (typical, bent corners, bottom of bubble was a little skewed) for $75 at a comic book store. I held on to it until November 2007, when I sold it for $315 shipped. Ended up using the $300 to buy Christmas for my family that year

That is nuts! Looks like 2 bidders battled it out there. I'd be surprised if the winning bidder pays though. I think this may have been a case of one-up-manship.

Crazy money and the card looks bent from the picture...!? Yeah it looks warped or bowed to say the least. A bit much IMO for a Hasbro not in mint shape.

Hi everyone and thanks for the comments. I was pleasantly surprised with the final bid on the Dusty. There were 3 bidders involved until around the $300 mark and then it was just a battle between 2 people that really wanted the figure. Both of them were very serious bidders and the payment came through fine. I think Hasbro's in general are starting to become very popular again and rightfully so, they are an awesome line.

sweet man, cool for you to drop in and let us know. That is AMAZING, you are incredibly lucky. I buy and sell, and i think your auction could be an INCREDIBLE turning point for the hobby. I am really glad you got your money. I've sold many rares and variants over the years, but i have NEVER seen anything like this. I'm more surprised by this than the kamala with moon. you expect high prices for the kamala. Ive seen 300, 325, even 350 for dusty. BUT 475! WOW! I've never seen even 400. I think ive seen 500, but it was for 2 dusty's! Im not saying well see 475 again per say, but what its going to do is set a nice benchmark for the next couple of dusty's. It will be a bench mark particularly for "buy it now" and best offers. Plus, there are a lot of seller on ebay, that have RIDICULOUSLY high buy it now prices for other figures also. warrior 3 (xx-steve) - $500, Lee's green cards - $85-125, a couple of red takers - 80-100. Lees demolition - 160. Good times! thanks BK
