So I recently recieved a shipping notification from Ringside Collectables, along with a tracking number. Checked on the tracking number Thursday night, when I recieved the notification. The status was "Electrionic Shipping Information Recieved". I checked it again on Friday, Friday Night, Saturday, Saturday Night, Sunday, Sunday Night, and now finally Monday. The status is now: "Electronic Shipping Information Recieved" Now, I know RC shipped my stuff out on Thursday. So it's not a matter of the shipping label being created, but not shipped. This is also not the first time this has happened. The last 3 packages I've purchased on eBay have had a tracking number have had similar experiences. I've even signed up for "email notifications", which are even less helpful. 2 of those 3 packages actually arrived an entire day before the tracking information got updated to "Delivered". So here's my question. What's the ing point of having a tracking system if they never update it to the point where you can.....oh I don't know.....actually track the package?

is it through USPS? if so, they don't update tracking until you actually receive the parcel. That's why Amazon pisses the poop out of me sometimes. But the USPS are having a lot of lay-offs and budget cuts so you can't really blame them.
UPS is the way to go, as their tracking system is much more reliable (which of course means it's more expensive)

It is though USPS. I'm a much bigger fan of Fed EX, as their tracking is usually pretty up to date.

Stop checking it so much. That's what's pissing you off.
Next time, go with FedEx.

Stop checking it so much. That's what's pissing you off. Next time, go with FedEx. First off, if I had the option of FedEx, I would have used it. Since as I stated previously, I purchased this from someone else, I had limited options to choose from. Second, it's not that I'm "pissed off" as much as I am just confused on the point of a tracking number that isn't used for tracking purposes. I'd understand if it was "Delivery Confirmation", as it would simply be a confirmation that it was delivered. But since USPS offers a separate feature called Delivery Confirmation, it would make sense to be that this number would be used to track the package. I've recieved packages via USPS previously, outside of the 3 I mentioned earlier, in which it actually did track the package. I was able to see when it hit my local center, and when it was on the truck. So I know the service has the capability of working, it just doesn't.

Delivery confirmation through USPS is cheap, so sellers can claim there's a "tracking number," but all it really does is say you got it, which from a seller's POV is useful, but not useful at all from a buyer's POV.

Depending on where you are getting the tracking number from it let's you know that their delivery personal need to be punched in the face. Thank you DHL man...
