It seems unfair that Hasbros are getting all the love now. I also rec'd a WCW sticker album that has the UK figures pictured, including the never before seen carded pre-ring Sting & robed Luger tag team. I've heard about this pair on a tag card, but have never seen one for sale or in anyone's collection:

I loved my WCW ring as a kid I remember how the ring bell was a real pain in the ass as when ever you slammed someone on the mat it would ring. in the end I got my old man to take it off.
I had some great WCW vs WWE feuds with my figures. A local market sold both the US and our own UK versions cheap of course at the time I didn't know that the other ones were USA ones. I had great feuds with the Freebirds against the LOD and Brian Pillman against Bret Hart.
One Xmas I bugged my folks for the Brian Pillman with tiger knee pads. I had the orange Pillman figure but I just thought the tiger knee pads were cool.

this catalogue was inside the official wcw magazine in the uk, i ordered some jogging bottoms with the wcw logo on the side size medium, they sent a small size and i cut the legs off jusat below the wcw sign and wore them as shorts all summer of 91. i must have looked so stupid.

Love the scan! Thanks!
Also, anyone know the reason why the UK exclusives were UK exclusives? I actually have the Freebirds and found them at retail in 1991 with the sound module at Lionel Kiddie City, along with Sting in entrance gear, but from talking to other collectors, it sounds like I found an accidental shipment or something.

I remember Argos sold a selection of WCW figures that was where I got my cage ring and Freebirds from.

I have the steiners as above and also have them on single cards.
I have noticed a lot of people who have the robed figures have both of them which could be an indication that they did indeed come in this double pack. I'd love to see one of them come on ebay.

I'd just like to add that the Freebirds also came on singles cards.

Was the UK exclusive set originally scheduled to be Series 2 in the US?
If not were Rhodes, Freebirds, El Gigante and Big Josh planned to be in Series 2?
Also why was there no Series 2 released when Series 1 sold well and WCW was doing well?

Has to be something like that. I really miss the Lionel stores (Play Word was also Lionel). They were better overall stores than KB and TRU and had stuff I never saw anywhere else, like blister packs of the black-bordered WCW trading cards. I also got my Habro Hogan #3 there and never saw it anywhere else around here.

I also got my Habro Hogan #3 there and never saw it anywhere else around here. Kiddie City was great. They just had SO MANY of the toys, ya know? When they got Hasbros in, they seem to have gotten them in by the 100s. I remember digging and digging and digging and digging through racks upon racks of figures to finally find an Akeem and an Andre even after Series 2 had just come out. Dusty was a major shelf warmer; I have two loose Dusty's because that's how common he was at Lionel (my mom's rationale was if he has THIS many figures for sale, he must be important, not knowing she had already bought me one). But the atmosphere was ridiculous; it was a really amazing place. And about the Freebirds: there wasn't just one, there were probably between 10 and 20 and I had to beg and beg and beg my parents to buy me it (I was 4, no birthdays or holidays in sight). The packaging is big and it was on an end cap, coincidentally, across from an end cap of Bill and Ted action figures who used sound module technology of their own. Such a mind/time warp.
