With both World Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling going out of business in early 2001, the World Wrestling Federation has been going on for over a year without any competition. However, that will all change on June 19th, 2002. The National Wrestling Alliance has teamed up with Total Non-Stop Action, founded by Jeff and Jerry Jarrett. Total Non-Stop Action will be a company that consists of wrestling and not whacky story telling. NWA-TNA will be broadcasted live on pay per view every Wednesday starting a 8pm ET for only $9.95.
All championships are vacant and new champions will be crowned in the coming weeks. The current NWA World Champion Dan Severn is unable to attend the debut show, thus a eight man tournament for that belt and the NWA World Tag Team Championships will start on the first show.
Many people have been wondering as to who would be apart of the upstart NWA-TNA promotion. Jeff Jarrett said that many guys from WCW, ECW and all over the independent scene would get their chance to shine in NWA-TNA. He also noted that perhaps WWE wrestlers would jump ship to his company. When asked for some names Jarrett revealed the following wrestlers.
Himself, AJ Styles, Buff Bagwell, Brian Lawler, Jerry Lynn, Ken Shamrock, Steve Corino and Scott Hall. Jarrett noted that in NWA-TNA There is the best talent and that people will realize that and the WWE should take notice that NWA-TNA is here for the long run.
Make sure to tune in June 19th, 2002 for NWA-TNA live on pay per view!

National Wrestling Alliance and Total Non-Stop Action present Weekly PPV #1 Date: 6/19/2002 From: Huntsville, Alabama Announcers: Mike Tenay, Don West, and Ed Ferrera
NWA-TNA opening video package
Mike Tenay, Don West and Ed Ferrera welcome everyone to the first ever NWA-TNA pay per view broadcast. Tenay says that TNA is the only alternative wrestling company out their and that he knows the fans will enjoy what will be presented to them here tonight. West, who is really excited for the show, hypes up what is scheduled on the show. West mentions the tournaments to crown the NWA-TNA World and Tag Team Champions which will start tonight. However, they do not know who is involved in the tournaments. Tenay makes sure to again promote the athletes involved in NWA-TNA and is gets word that the director of authority is making his way out to the ring.
Ricky Steamboat makes his way down to the ring to a warm reception. Steamboat puts over the importance of the NWA and how he sees TNA being the “future of this business”. Steamboat mentions his duties for TNA, which includes making the fans happy with enjoyable matches and keeping order in the back. Steamboat mentions the title tournaments for the World and Tag Team Championships. Steamboat says that people have been wondering about the NWA-TNA X-Division Championship. Steamboat decides to tell everyone that next week on NWA-TNA, their will be a six man ladder match to crown the first champion. Steamboat says that Jerry Lynn, Psicosis, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Low Ki and the Amazing Red will be competing in the match. Steamboat transitions to the tag team title tournament and mentions that their will be two matches tonight. First, the young tag team of Chris Harris and James Storm will take on the Extreme Horsemen members Simon Diamond and CW Anderson. Also, the Hot Shots will square off against the Rainbow Express. Steamboat brings up the world title tournament and goes over the two matches. Buff Bagwell will take on Disco Inferno in a tournament match and Jeff Jarrett will take on a mystery opponent. As soon as that is announced, Jeff Jarrett makes his way out to the ring and says that he wants to know who he is facing tonight. Steamboat will not tell him. Jarrett brings up that he dealt with a lot of crap in WCW and that he will not deal with crap in TNA. Steamboat tells Jarrett that tonight he will face a former NWA World Champion, and that is all he telling him. Steamboat leaves the ring as Jarrett says “bring him on Steamboat, the belt is mine”.
Match #1: AJ Styles defeated David Young: The aerial style of Styles actually worked well with Young. Styles delivered a springboard reverse DDT early on along with a suicide dive to the floor. Young would get some offense in that included a tilt a whirl backbreaker and a middle rope twisting spine buster and nearly won the contest. Styles manages to block a spine buster late in the match and plants Young with a float over DDT. Styles proceed to connect with the Styles Clash to win the match in just over eight minutes.
Backstage, Goldylocks is with Jeff Jarrett as he storms into Ricky Steamboat’s office. Jarrett gets in Steamboat’s face demanding that he tell him who is facing tonight. Steamboat laughs at Jarrett saying that he likes to see Jarrett worry. Jarrett says he isn’t worried. Jarrett tells Steamboat that he should worry about Jarrett kicking his ass right here right now. Steamboat again tells Jarrett he will not tell him who he is facing. Steamboat calls for security and kicks Jarrett out of his office.
Match #2: Buff Bagwell defeated Disco Inferno to advance in the World Title Tournament: Both men decide to dance and showboat, until Inferno chop blocks the right leg of Bagwell. Inferno with a backbreaker, side Russian leg sweep and a swinging neck breaker but couldn’t put Bagwell away. Bagwell with a side slam, inverted vertical suplex and a jumping double arm DDT. Inferno would stumble around and Bagwell connects with the Blockbuster to pick up the win in eleven minutes.
Backstage, Goldylocks is with Steve Corino, Simon Diamond, CW Anderson and Johnny Swinger better known as the Extreme Horsemen. Corino tells Goldylocks that his guys Diamond and Anderson will beat up the young punks Harris and Storm tonight and end up winning the titles no matter who they have to face. Corino turns his attention to the NWA-TNA World Heavyweight Championship and says that he better be apart of the tournament. Corino puts himself over as the greatest ECW and NWA Champion in history. He also subtly mentions Ric Flair and says that his Horsemen has a better leader and is a better overall group. TNA better recognize how good they are, or suffer the consequences.
Match #3: Extreme Horsemen defeated Chris Harris/James Storm to advance in the Tag Team Title Tournament: Storm and Harris use their speed early on to control Diamond and Anderson with various hip tosses and dropkicks. Storm and Harris also take Diamond down with a double flapjack for a near fall. CW takes Harris down with a exploder suplex that would be seen as the turning point of the contest. Storm would attempt a flying cross body but was caught by Anderson who would drive Storm down with a swinging side slam. Diamond would finish Storm off with the Simonizer to advance in the tournament after four minutes of action.
Backstage, Goldylocks is with Jerry Lynn. Goldylocks brings up the ladder match next week to crown the first ever NWA-TNA X-Division Champion. Lynn says that it has been a long time since he has competed in a ladder match, but he has been hearing the boys in the back whispering about the old guy competing against younger men. Lynn looks forward to proving to everyone in TNA that he is not nearing the end of his career and that he is in his prime.
Match #4: Amazing Red defeated Jimmy Yang: A fast pace contest between two young wrestlers. Red with a impressive slingshot hurricanrana from the ring to the floor. Yang came back with a senton splash off the apron onto Red on the floor. Yang would misses a slingshot leg drop back into the ring. Red would plant Yang with a tornado DDT and almost picked up the win. Yang battled back with a twisting neck breaker and attempted a hurricanrana off the top but Red hung onto the ropes and Yang hit the mat hard. Red would connect with the Red Star Press and picked up the win after nine and half minutes.
Mike Tenay goes over several live events that the NWA is having all over the Midwest while some attractive girls dance inside a cage.
Match #5: Rainbow Express defeated the Hot Shots to advance in the Tag Team Title Tournament: Lenny and Lodi really play mind games with the Hot Shots continually touching their chests and buttocks in a manner that freaks Cassidy O’Reilly and Chase Stevens out. Stevens nails Lenny with a missile dropkick and monkey flips Lenny out of the corner. Lodi drives O’Reilly down with a death valley driver for a near fall. Late in the match, O’Reilly attempts a moonsault off the top but misses Lenny. Lenny proceeds to roll O’Reilly up to earn the win after five minutes of action. After the match, the Rainbow Express attempt to console the Hot Shots, but the Hot Shots bail from the ring.
Mike Tenay heads into the ring with a paper in hand. Tenay says that he had gotten word of the two NWA-TNA World Title tournament matches and the two NWA-TNA World Tag Team Title tournament matches to take place next week. Tenay proceeds to announce that next week, Ken Shamrock will face Steve Corino and Scott Hall will take on Malice in NWA-TNA World Heavyweight Title tournament matches. Tenay reveals the two tag team matches for next week. Ron Harris and Brian Lee will take on Joey Matthews and Christian York. In the other tag team title tournament match, the New Church (Crowbar/Slash) will be taking on the legendary tag team… the Road Warriors! The crowd erupts at the announcement.
Jeremy Borash is in the ring getting ready to reveal the mystery opponent with Jeff Jarrett in the ring waiting. After a few moments of waiting, the crowd goes wild as Dusty Rhodes makes his way through the crowd and slides into the ring behind Jeff Jarrett which leads to the main event.
Main Event: Jeff Jarrett defeated Dusty Rhodes to advance in the World Title Tournament: The match starts off with Rhodes delivering several biotic elbows and left jabs in the corner. Rhodes connects with a vertical suplex and a elbow coming off the ropes. Jarrett would stop Rhodes with a knee to the midsection and snap suplex’s Rhodes down. Jarrett delivers a double axe handle as well for a near fall. Jarrett wraps Rhodes left knee around the ring post. Jarrett works on the knee of Rhodes for several moments. Jarrett goes for the figure four but is rolled up by Rhodes for a near fall. Rhodes goes to send Jarrett into the corner and Jarrett goes right into the referee. Rhodes checks on the referee while Jarrett goes underneath the ring and gets his guitar. Rhodes turns around and is nailed with the guitar. Jarrett gets rid of the evidence and connects with the Stroke to advance in the tournament in just over ten minutes of action. After the match, Jarrett taunts the fans while proclaiming that he will win the gold.

The opening segment with Ricky Steamboat and Jeff Jarrett was good. Styles/Young isn't the best of openers considering the talent pool you have to work with here, but it was still decent. Buff Bagwell over Disco Inferno is good, especially considering it's the World Title Tournament. Not shocked at all to see Harris and Storm lose to the Extreme Horsemen. Red/Yang sounded fantastic. Nice to see Red pick up the win, especially with a Shooting Star. The Rainbow Express advancing is surprising, but the aftermath made me laugh. I could picture that actually happening. Shamrock/Corino will be amazing, purely because I'm a Shamrock mark. Dusty Rhodes? Haha, awesome. I actually really like Dusty as Jarrett's opponent. Obviously Jarrett winning was the correct decision. Good stuff all around, Bob.

Loved weekly PPV's and Jord's diary on this era was awesome so good luck. Like Jarrett talking about how this won't be like WCW. Like the idea of Styles winning the first match in promotion history to sort of set the stone. Using AMW as a team is a good call. Shamrock and Hall coming in is good. Decent main event, Hope Jarrett eventually gets the gold. Like how you're doing a tourney instead of the usual Gauntlet for the Gold. Interested to see where things go once your champions get settled and what not.

National Wrestling Alliance and Total Non-Stop Action present Weekly PPV #2 Date: 6/26/2002 From: Huntsville, Alabama Announcers: Mike Tenay, Don West and Ed Ferrera
NWA-TNA opening video
Mike Tenay, Don West and Ed Ferrera welcome everyone to the second NWA-TNA broadcast on pay per view. Tenay quickly mentions the six man ladder match to crown the first ever NWA-TNA X-Division Champion taking place tonight. Ferrera believes that AJ Styles will be walking away as champion, Don West picks Amazing Red while Mike Tenay chooses Jerry Lynn. Tenay brings up the tournaments for both the World Championship and Tag Team Championships continuing tonight. Ferrera hypes up the Malice/Scott Hall in the World Title tournament match and believes that Malice and the new Church will destroy Scott Hall. Tenay mentions the Ken Shamrock/Steve Corino match which is the main event. Ferrera had talked to Corino earlier in the night and Corino told him that Shamrock will not get the ankle lock submission on him. Tenay lastly hypes up the tag team tournament as he mentions that the Road Warriors will be in TNA taking on Slash and Vampire Warrior (Gangrel) of the New Church. Tenay sends it over to the ring to start the show.
Match #1: Low Ki won the six man ladder match to win the NWA-TNA X-Division Championship: Along with Low Ki, Psicosis, AJ Styles, Jerry Lynn, Amazing Red and Christopher Daniels were apart of the contest. A quick and wild ladder match to open up the second pay per view. Red got things going with a somersault dive off the top onto Styles who had a ladder in hand. Lynn drove Daniels back first into a ladder with a tilt a whirl slam. Psicosis got in on the action with a sick leg drop off the top onto Lynn who had the ladder on top of him. Low Ki connected with a handspring kick on Red, kicking the ladder into the face of Red in effect. Daniels connected with Angels Wings and the best moonsault ever on Ki as a high point for him in the match. Each of the contestants made several attempts to reach the belt but each were stopped. At one point, Lynn delivered a sickening cradle pile driver on Styles coming off the ladder. With two ladders set up, Psicosis and Red were battling on one ladder while Daniels was on another one. Ki managed to shove both ladders over and all three men crashed down to the floor. Ki planted Lynn with the Ki Krusher and proceeded to climb up the ladder and grabbed the championship to win the match.
Clips from the first show are shown, which included the surprise debut of Dusty Rhodes, only to lose to Jeff Jarrett.
Ed Ferrera is in the ring and introduces the “King of Old School” Steve Corino his group the Extreme Horsemen. Ferrera mentions Corino’s match against Ken Shamrock later tonight and is curious to find out what Corino is thinking. Corino tells Ferrera that he is sick and tired of being not talked about as a legitimate threat to walk away as the champion tonight. Corino says that people have called him a “bingo hall champion” or a “third rate champion”. Corino is sick of all of that. Corino doesn’t understand why Ken Shamrock gets all this hype and all this glory when all he has ever been is a mediocre UFC fighter and a mid-card champion in the WWE. Corino finds it to be a joke that people think Corino will lose to Shamrock tonight. Ferrera mentions the dangerous ankle lock and whether Corino will be able to avoid that. Corino tells Ferrera that people don’t know that he was a successful wrestler in high school and that he knows that will be able to out wrestle Shamrock. Corino says that he will not submit to Shamrock, and that he will move on in the tournament and reclaim the NWA World Championship.
Backstage, Goldylocks is with Scott Hall. Goldylocks brings up his match against Malice tonight. Hall says that he understands Jim Mitchell’s attempt to bring his demons back into his life, but Hall is a new man and is in the right state of mind. Hall says that it will feel good to beat the demon in his path, Malice and to finally achieve a goal of his to be called a World Champion.
Match #2: Brian Lee/Ron Harris defeated Joey Matthews/Christian York to advance in the tag team title tournament: Matthews and York use their speed early on to connect with dropkicks off the top to knock Lee and York down. Once order is maintained, Lee controls York with a spinning side slam. Lee also takes York down with a gut wrench slam. Matthews would get a tag, but didn’t fair any better as he was power slammed down. Lee and Harris lift Matthews up with a double spine buster to advance to the finals in under six minutes of action.
Backstage, Jeff Jarrett walks into Ricky Steamboat’s office with a grin on his face. Jarrett taunts Steamboat saying that he was able to beat his mystery opponent last week in Dusty Rhodes. Jarrett continues to tell Steamboat that he can’t prevent his destiny to be the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Steamboat tells Jarrett that he knows that Jarrett cheated but the referee’s decision is final. Steamboat wishes Jarrett luck in his second round contest. Jarrett says that he doesn’t need any luck from a slapnut.
Match #3: Malice defeated Scott Hall to advance in the world title tournament: Hall and Malice brawl on the floor for a few moments with Malice ramming Hall back first into the ring post and dropping Hall throat first across the guard railing. They get into the ring where Hall battles back with several right hands and a fall away slam. Hall manages to connect with a back suplex the top rope for a near fall. Hall attempts to go for the Edge but Malice backdrops Hall down and nails Hall with a big boot and a choke slam to pick up the win. After the match, James Mitchell gives Malice a spike and Malice begins to jab the spike into the forehead of Hall, busting him wide open. Mitchell steals a fans beer and enters the ring while Malice holds Hall. Mitchell tells Hall to embrace the demons within and throws the beer into the open wound. Mitchell and Malice laugh while Hall is left on the mat bloody.
Mike Tenay goes over various NWA shows taking place around the country.
Match #4: Kid Kash defeated Elix Skipper: Kash with a tilt a whirl head scissors to the start the match but Skipper comes back with a side belly to belly suplex. Skipper avoids a clothesline by doing the matrix and would take Kash down with a butterfly suplex. Skipper attempts a hurricanrana off the top but Kash holds onto Skipper and power bombs Skipper off the middle rope for a near fall. Kash with a impressive fireman carry backbreaker. Skipper fights back and attempts the Play of the Day, but Kash reverses and drives Skipper down with a tornado DDT. Kash finishes Skipper off with a brain buster.
Backstage, James Mitchell is with Goldylocks in a dark room. Mitchell tells the Road Warriors that they pain their face to intimidate people, but his men Slash and Crowbar do not need any paint to scare people. Mitchell tells Crowbar and Slash that he wants the blood of the Road Warriors so that his men can become stronger and better. Mitchell lastly says that the Road Warriors better get ready for bloodshed tonight.
Match #5: Road Warriors defeated New Church (Slash/Crowbar) to advance in the tag team title tournament: Slash and Crowbar attempt to attack the Road Warriors before the bell, but that doesn’t work as they are sent into the guard railing and ring steps. Hawk and Slash would start the match and was dominated by Hawk with several clotheslines and a delayed vertical suplex. Slash would get some offense in and even connected with the Slash and Burn (neck breaker) but Hawk wasn’t affected by the move. Late in the match, Animal and Crowbar went at it with Crowbar getting caught in midair while going for a springboard cross body. Animal would take Slash out of the equation with a shoulder block as the Road Warriors delivered the Doomsday Device on Crowbar to win the match. After the match, the Road Warriors celebrate the win as the New Church head to the back nursing their wounds.
Goldylocks is backstage and she says she hears a commotion in the parking lot. Goldylocks gets to the parking lot and sees Ron Killings and a few of his friends rapping and playing dice. Killings is happy to see her, but that changes when Disco Inferno comes over. Inferno asks what the heck Killings and his friends are doing. They can’t be gambling here and saying inappropriate words while there are children around. Killings mocks Inferno with a rap making fun of Inferno’s hair and outfit. Inferno comes back by saying that Killings and his friends are up to no good and that “his people” never listen to authority. Killings doesn’t like that comment and gets in Inferno’s face. Inferno tries to tell Killings he didn’t mean what he said, and bails back into the ring. Killings finishes the segment saying “white boy is going to get what is coming to him, believe that.”
Main Event: Ken Shamrock defeated Steve Corino to advance in the world title tournament: Corino gets in Shamrock’s face and tells him that he will not be tapping out to him. Corino and Shamrock trade a series of right hands until Corino nails Shamrock with a leg sweep and clothesline combo. Corino would put Shamrock across the top rope and connect with a running knee to the head that would cause Shamrock to fall to the floor where he was attacked by the Extreme Horsemen. Shamrock would get back into the ring and would be worked on again with several biotic elbows a scoop slam. Shamrock would battle back with several leg kicks and a dragon screw leg whip and almost got the ankle lock on Corino. Corino would be backed into the corner and Shamrock would take Corino down with a superplex for a near fall. Late in the match, Corino has Shamrock set up for the Old School Expulsion but Shamrock reversed connecting with a belly to belly suplex to earn the win. After the match, the Extreme Horsemen entered the ring and attacked Shamrock until the Road Warriors ran down to the ring and cleaned house. Corino would go backstage saying that the count was fast or that Shamrock held his tights. The Road Warriors and Ken Shamrock play to the crowd as the show goes off the air.

Awesome opener, should have main evented though in my opinion. Ki winning the title is fine, hope AJ eventually gets it. Glad that Corino had a promo because up until that, I did not think of him as in Shamrock's league. Ok tag match, not much to it. Malice over Hall? Not sure how I feel about Hall losing clean and then getting ambushed after, it makes him look weak. I guess it depends on how you bring him back after that. Kash/Skipper was fine. Road Warriors as tag champs would be fine if that's the way you go. Glad Shamrock won. Good show, just felt the opener should have main evented.

I'm not a big fan of introducing all the belts at the same time and doing a tourney for two of them, I don't like TNA doing a ladder match but glad Ki wins it I just hope AJ gets pushed, hope Cornio wins, Hall a changed man OMG like that your doing a storyline about it, wanted York and Matthews to win, hopefully Malice gets the monster push of TNA, glad Kash won should be good in the X Divsion, I'm hoping LOD wins the tag titles as they are such a big name, strange segment with Killings and Inferno, good main event although I would have prefered Corino to win lets hope he gets some title shots down the line, good luck and keep this up.

Malice with a leaping big boot, side slam and a backbreaker to control Shamrock. Shamrock managed to fight out of a choke slam attempt and took Malice down with a German suplex to get a near fall. Shamrock manages to continue his offense taking Malice down with a hurricanrana. Malice would attempt a power bomb late in the match, but Shamrock fought out of the move and locked in the ankle lock. After several moments, Malice submitted. After the match, Malice attacks Shamrock by planting Shamrock with a choke slam. Malice sets up a table in the ring and looks to drive Shamrock through the table, however Scott Hall runs down to the ring and clotheslines Malice over the top to the floor. Hall taunts Malice saying he wants a piece of him.
Mike Tenay goes over where NWA shows are going to taking place over the weekend.
Ricky Steamboat makes his way down to the ring with a microphone in hand. Steamboat thanks the fans for coming out to support a great wrestling and tells the fans that he is here to bring in great talent and keep everything in order. Steamboat says that he and Jeff Jarrett have been having a little bit of an issue, but he will not be intimidated and will not let Jeff Jarrett walk all over him. Steamboat continues by saying that he will do what he feels is right and that he is going to be fair to everyone. Steamboat says that he came out for another reason. He has a friend in the back who hasn’t been involved in wrestling in quite sometime. Steamboat says that his friend has one last good run in him and that he was a former partner of his back in WCW. After a few moments of teasing, Steamboat reveals this man to be … “the Franchise” Shane Douglas! Douglas comes out to a mixed reaction and once he enters the ring he embraces Ricky Steamboat. Douglas cuts a promo ripping on his former employers, Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman. Douglas says that McMahon is a corrupt business man who “ favors suck ups and pressures guys to ruin their bodies for his own gain.” Douglas rips on Bischoff saying that he “gave all the power to a fifty five year old paranoid man” and lastly rips on Paul Heyman saying he “thought it was more important to do a C level movie then to keep a revolution I started alive”. Douglas says that he has come to NWA-TNA because he has great respect for Steamboat and believes that he can still go with the best. Steamboat and Douglas shake hands as Tenay says something is going on backstage.
Backstage, Malice and Scott Hall are brawling throwing each other into walls and hitting each other with trash cans and chairs. Security finally manages to find them and breaks up the brawl.
Match #2: Extreme Horsemen defeated Rainbow Express to advance to the finals in the tag team tournament: Lenny tries to be flirtatious with CW Anderson but Anderson slaps Lenny in the face and works on Lenny in the corner before taking Lenny down with a exploder suplex. Anderson would continue his offense with a gut wrench slam and a hammerlock snap suplex. Diamond enters and takes Lenny down with a side Russian leg sweep and a standing fist drop. Lenny battles back with a float over DDT, Lodi enters and leaps off the top connecting with a leg drop off the top for a near fall. Lodi with a elevated neck breaker out of the corner for a near fall. Anderson would re-enter and plant Lodi with a spine buster for a near fall. Late in the match, Anderson plants Lenny with a spine buster to pick up the win. After the match, the Extreme Horsemen proclaim that they will be winning the tag team championships.
Backstage, Goldylocks is with Sonny Siaki. Siaki tells Goldylocks that NWA-TNA has just gotten a lot better ever since he has stepped into the building. Siaki says that he has the looks and he has the ability that is unmatched here in NWA-TNA. Siaki says that in a few moments, he will showcase what he is all about. Before he leaves he says that Goldylocks should wear a thicker shirt, as he can tell she is excited to be in his presence.
Match #3: Sonny Siaki defeated Christian York: Siaki really dominated this match from the beginning to end. Siaki nailed York with a spinning leg lariat and a pump handle overhead slam. Siaki also connected with a impressive gut wrench slam off the middle rope. Siaki would finish York off with the Money Clip. After the match, Siaki tells NWA-TNA to take notice as greatness has arrived in NWA-TNA.
Backstage, Goldylocks is standing with AJ Styles, who is holding his neck. Styles says that he thought Jerry Lynn was a professional but found out that he wasn’t. Styles says that Lynn nearly ended his career with a cradle pile driver off the ladder last week. Styles doesn’t think that should be seen as a good thing and that the fans shouldn’t appreciate that. Styles says that this is wrestling, not some backyard garbage league. Styles thinks that Lynn didn’t have to put his career in jeopardy the way he did. Jerry Lynn comes over and tells AJ Styles to stop complaining. Lynn tells Styles that he was doing what he needed to do to win the match. Lynn says he will not apologize because he would do it again. Lynn leaves the scene telling Styles that he hopes he heals soon, so that they can have a competitive match and see who is better between the two. A complainer or a fighter. Styles did not like the label of a being a complainer.
Match #4: Road Warriors defeated Brian Lee/Ron Harris to advance to the finals in the tag team tournament: This was a all out brawl that didn’t really ever get controlled by the referee. Lee nailed Animal with a impressive snap power slam while Harris connected with a fully nelson slam on Hawk, but they weren’t able to pick up the win. Hawk came back with a neck breaker on Lee while Animal took Harris down with a shoulder block off the middle rope. Lee suffered the Doomsday Device as the Road Warriors advance to the finals.
Backstage, Goldylocks is with Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett tells Goldylocks that tonight he will move to the finals and win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Jarrett tells Bagwell that he doesn’t have a partner to rely on tonight, and that Bagwell will be suffering the Stroke. “You can count on that, slap nuts!”
Disco Inferno is in the ring for the first edition of Jive Talking. The ring has been transformed to have disco balls and has couches in the middle of the ring. Disco Inferno tells everyone that last week what he said was taken the wrong way and that he would like for his guest, Ron Killings, to come down to the ring so he can explain himself. Killings makes his way down to the ring to a good reception from the crowd. Inferno tries to do a gangster handshake, but Killings just gives him a stare until Inferno gives up on the attempt. Inferno tries to apologize to Killings saying what he said last week wasn’t what he meant. Inferno says that he didn’t mean to say that Killings is like a gangster who is up to no good, but rather is a gangster who is up to no good. Inferno makes a comment about Killings outfit and says that he fit’s the description for a thug. Killings tells Inferno that he doesn’t know him and what he is all about. Killings says that just because he wears baggy clothing, doesn’t mean he is a criminal or a thug. Inferno wonders if Killings would be able to survive on the streets, because Inferno senses that Killings is nothing but talk. Killings says that he would show Inferno what he is all about. Inferno backs off and makes a gangster sign mocking Killings. Killings has had enough and clotheslines Inferno over the top to the floor Killings plays to the crowd until Inferno rolls back into the ring with a chair and nails Killings across the back and head. Inferno bails through the crowd as Killings friends run down to the ring.
Match #5: Low Ki defeated Psicosis to retain the NWA-TNA X-Division Championship: Ki controlled Psicosis with several stiff kicks and full nelson suplex and nearly won the match. Psicosis battled back with a guillotine leg drop. Psicosis also connected with a springboard cross body to the floor. Psicosis drove Ki down with a tilt a whirl backbreaker but missed a top rope leg drop. Ki connected with a handspring back elbow and planted Psicosis with the Ki Krusher 99’. Ki locks in the dragon clutch to win the match and retain the championship.
Backstage, the Rainbow Express are rather upset over losing earlier in the show and head into their locker room where the Hot Shots are playing cards. Lenny and Lodi think they are there to comfort them after their lose but the Hot Shots are not. The Hot Shots call them “queers” and demand they leave them alone. Hot Shots are not going to be associated with the Rainbow Express and leave the locker room telling Lenny and Lodi to leave them alone or suffer the consequents . After the Hot Shots leave, Lodi says “I don’t think they like us.” Lenny replied saying “No, Lodi they do they just don’t know it but they do.”
Main Event: Jeff Jarrett defeated Buff Bagwell to advance to the finals of the world title tournament: Bagwell with the early advantage on Jarrett to start the match with a back suplex and a delayed vertical suplex. Bagwell drives Jarrett down with a face buster and a scoop slam. Jarrett fought back with a double axe handle and a side Russian leg sweep. Jarrett with a side slam and a neck breaker for a near fall. Bagwell drives Jarrett down with a double arm DDT for a near fall. Jarrett drives Bagwell down to the mat face first and connects with a leaping DDT of his own. Bagwell leaps off looking for the Blockbuster but Jarrett dropped down and Bagwell crashed to the mat hard. Jarrett grabs Bagwell and connects with the Stroke to pick up the win. After the match, Jeff Jarrett taunts the fans signaling that he will be winning the championship next week.
Mike Tenay and Don West hypes up next week show which will see the Tag Team Champions and World Champions crowned.

NWA:TNA Week #1; Wednesday 19th June 2002...Alright, I changed my mind when I said I'd wait for the third show to be posted, I may as well post now. nice idea for Ricky Steamboat to come out first on the premiere show, the authority figure announcing a tournament for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship tournament is nice, very different and it's good that you're doing this instead of the Gauntlet for the Gold. I hope you have the TNA X-Division Champion determined via the Gauntlet for the Gold instead, however. Good opening contest to kick off the show with X-Division showcasing itself, AJ Styles taking on David Young. The crowd wouldn't react to a major extent, but good decision for AJ to win. I hope we see AJ's old partner from Air Raid in WCW, Frank Paris appear at some point in this. Second match was pretty good, nostalgic in WCW sense, as Buff Bagwell advanced into the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, beating Disco Inferno. Hopefully Bagwell doesn't win it, but I can't see him doing that anyway. The Extreme Horsemen in NWA:TNA? Wow, this could mean a talent exchange, or even promotion wars between Major League Wrestling and NWA:TNA. Shame that Chris Harris and James Storm were eliminated in the first round, I am personally not all too fond of having that occur. Another good match with Amazing Red taking on Jimmy Yang, but I was expecting a stronger or different match to involve more talent. I guess this is why the Gauntlet for the Gold took place. Wish that'd happen here. Rainbow Express advancing over the Hot Shots, whilst Harris and Storm sit on the sidelines and watch? Not sure how I like that. As talented as Lenny Lane and Lodi are. The Road Warriors in NWA:TNA eh? Good. Decent main event, right decision to go about with Jeff Jarrett beating Dusty Rhodes. Good show overall, but it lacked the realism of a young promotion attempting to involve all of their stars. If I could improve this, there would've been a battle royal to include unused talent at least.
NWA:TNA; Week #2: Wednesday 26th June 2002...Alright, awesome opening contest to kick off the second week of NWA:TNA on pay-per-view, but I wish that Jerry Lynn or Psicosis had won the NWA:TNA X-Division Championship, as Low-Ki, Amazing Red, Chris Daniels and AJ Styles are all amazing talent, but they were virtually unknown. I was pretty shocked that AJ got the belt even, really. You should build the younger stars up, just revolve Low-Ki feuding with Jerry Lynn and I'd be happy. If TAKA Michinoku came in to feud Low-Ki, that'd put Low-Ki over so much. Steve Corino's segment was good, promoted his upcoming match with Ken Shamrock, which should be interesting. Brian Lee and Ron Harris beating Joey Matthews and Christian York is fine, not a bad bout there, but I somewhat wish that York and Matthews got somewhere in the tournament. Malice beating Scott Hall was surprising and I personally dislike it. Malice is known from WCW, but is less popular than Scott Hall. If NWA:TNA were starting, the more popular competitor would've win. The New Church feuding Hall is interesting. Kid Kash beating Elix Skipper is fine, pretty good match these two had in 2003. Nice win for the Road Warriors against the New Church to advance. Good idea, there, but Hawk and Animal best not win the NWA World Tag Team Championships. Awesome segment with Ron Killings and Disco Inferno, followed by a heated NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament bout. Ken Shamrock winning isn't surprising me, but I wish Corino had gotten somewhere. Decent show overall, still room for improvement.

Not sure about Malice losing just like that after a brutal beatdown on Hall last week. Like the usage of Douglas, he has always been good. Like the tension building between Malice/Hall. Tag team match was fine there. Sonny Siaki push please. Like the Styles segment. Forgot about that ladder spot. Hope Road Warriors end up with the belts. Jive Talking? Love it, haha. Killings usage is good as he was an unknown at this point pretty much. X-division title defense made sense. Jarrett/Bagwell was a serviceable main event, next week should be interesting.

The Wrestling Observer - written by Dave Meltzer
- The WWE has released several talent, as they usual do, and it is being reported that TNA is interested in some of the workers. Sources have told me that NWA-TNA is interested in Justin Credible, Spike Dudley, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. However, they have only been in talks with Justin Credible and Spike Dudley.
- Former WCW wrestler Sean O’Haire was backstage at the most recent NWA-TNA weekly pay per view.
- Expect a baby face stable to be formed in the coming weeks to combat the New Church and Extreme Horsemen. Apparently, Scott Hall will be the leader of the group.
- NWA-TNA is also looking to add tag teams to their roster that would be credible contenders to the championships. TNA feels at the moment, the division is a little bit weak with talent that fans may not be all too familiar with.
- NWA-TNA is rumored to be looking at several independent workers from JAPW/ROH and others to possibly be showcased on their pay per view shows as possible tryouts. Looks like that may begin by Week 7.

National Wrestling Alliance and Total Non-Stop Action present: Weekly PPV #4 Date: 7/10/2002 From: Nashville, Tennessee Announcers: Mike Tenay, Don West and Ed Ferrera
Mike Tenay, Don West and Ed Ferrera welcome everyone to the fourth edition of NWA-TNA live on pay-per-view. Tenay quickly hypes up the show as being the biggest one to date in NWA-TNA brief existence. Tenay mentions that both the NWA-TNA World and Tag Team Championships will be determined when the Extreme Horsemen take on the Road Warriors in the finals for the NWA-TNA Tag Team Championships. Jeff Jarrett will take on Ken Shamrock in the finals to determine the NWA-TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Ferrera puts over the NWA-TNA X-Division title match which will see the impressive Low Ki taking on Amazing Red. Don West chimes in promoting Shane Douglas’s official NWA-TNA in-ring debut when he takes on Johnny Swinger of the Extreme Horsemen! Tenay, West and Ferrera give their predictions on the finals for the world and tag team championships. Ferrera picks the Extreme Horsemen and Jeff Jarrett while West and Tenay pick the Road Warriors and Ken Shamrock. Tenay sends it over to Jeremy Borash to start the show.
Match #1) Extreme Horsemen defeated Road Warriors to win the vacant NWA-TNA World Tag Team Championships: Hawk and Animal control the match early on taking Anderson and Diamond down with several power slams and shoulder blocks throughout the contest. Hawk nearly won the match following a hangman’s neck breaker on Anderson but Diamond saved his partner only to be nailed with a spine buster from Animal. Animal also took Diamond down with a gorilla press slam. The Extreme Horsemen comeback with a spine buster from Anderson onto Hawk and a pile driver from Diamond onto Hawk. Near the end of the contest, Steve Corino and Johnny Swinger came down to the ring and while Swinger distracted the referee, Corino through powder into the eyes of Hawk who was nailed with a super kick by Diamond who would then pin Hawk to win the tag team titles.
Steve Corino enters the ring to celebrate with the new champions and also has a microphone. Corino puts over Diamond and Anderson before turning his attention to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Corino says that he was robbed in his match against Ken Shamrock a few weeks ago. Corino believes that NWA officials were making sure that Shamrock would advance because they are afraid of what a ultimate fighter can do to them. Corino believes that they should be afraid of what the Extreme Horsemen will do, because he will not rest until he wins the NWA-TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Corino puts both Shamrock and Jarrett on notice, saying that whomever wins the belt, will not have the belt for long. Corino lastly promotes Johnny Swinger as he takes on the recently debuted Shane Douglas. Corino insults Douglas calling him a “sell out” and a “jealous, conceded piece of crap”. Douglas would eventually come down to the ring but didn’t have a altercation with the Extreme Horsemen.
Match #2) Shane Douglas defeated Johnny Swinger: Douglas took Swinger down with several hip tosses and a side belly to belly suplex early on but couldn’t put him away, at least at the moment. Swinger managed to showcase some offense that consisted with a swinging side slam and a backbreaker. Swinger attempted the Swing Thing but Douglas kneed out of the move and planted Swinger with a DDT. Douglas proceeded to take Swinger down with the Pittsburgh Plunge to win his in-ring debut for NWA-TNA.
Backstage, Goldylocks is with Scott Hall. Goldylocks brings up next week’s street fight against Malice. Hall says that he has been in a lot of fights or battles in his life, but Malice is nowhere near being the toughest. Hall says that he doesn’t have a problem anymore and that he has it controlled. However, he can’t control the anger and hatred he has towards the New Church. Hall says that next week he will put the demon to rest.
Match #3) Low Ki defeated Amazing Red to retain the NWA-TNA X-Division Championship: Ki nailed Red silly with a stiff kick to the midsection as Red spring boarded off the top rope looking for a cross body early on. Ki would continue to deliver several stiff kicks to the face of Red, causing Red’s nose to bleed. Red would manage to battle back connecting with a tornado DDT and the Red Star Press but Ki kicked out. Red also connected with a springboard heel kick but couldn’t put the champ away. Red missed the Red Star Press and that allowed Ki with lock in the dragon clutch to retain the title.
Backstage, Goldylocks is with a pacing Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett says that tonight is the night that he wins the most prestigious title in the wrestling industry. He isn’t in the business to collect a easy paycheck, like Ken Shamrock. He has been busting his ass for far to long to allow some overrated ultimate fighter to call himself the NWA champion. Jarrett tells Goldylocks to get ready to start calling him the NWA-TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Jarrett calls Goldylocks a “blonde bimbo” before leaving the scene.
Match #4) The Hotshots defeated Maximo Brothers: A fast pace contest here between four workers. O’Reilly and Stevens took the Maximo’s down with a double springboard missile dropkick but the Maximo’s came back with stereo hurricanrana. Joel almost pinned Stevens following a moonsault off the top. O’Reilly would drop Jose throat first across the top rope and connect with a slingshot somersault leg drop that really put the match in the Hotshots advantage. O’Reilly lifts Jose up in a vertical suplex but doesn’t drop. Instead, Stevens comes off the top and connects with a cross body as O’Reilly falls back. Stevens covers Jose to pick up the win.
Backstage, Goldylocks is with Ken Shamrock who is sitting down wrapping his fists with tape. Shamrock doesn’t allow Goldylocks to say a word. Instead, Shamrock looks right into the camera, punching his palm telling Jarrett that he should get a emergency room booked because he is going to break his face into a million pieces. Shamrock tells Jarrett that he will lock in the ankle lock and break his ankle or just twist it off and ram it up his ass. Shamrock doesn’t fail at what he puts his mind to. Tonight, he has set his mind to winning the championship, and he will do just that.
Match #5) Christopher Daniels defeated Jorge Estrada: Daniels really controls Estrada with a STO and a tilt a whirl backbreaker. Estrada did reverse the Angels Wings with a backdrop and connected with a spinning back elbow. Estrada, however missed a springboard senton splash and that allowed Daniels to connect with the Angels Wings to pick up the fairly easy win.
A video package promoting the debut of Mike Awesome. The video consists of several clips of Awesome in Japan. The video says at various points “He is not that 70’s Guy” and “He is not the Fat Chick Thriller”. The video finishes by saying “He is the Career Killer and he is coming to NWA-TNA”.
Main Event: Ken Shamrock defeated Jeff Jarrett to win the vacant NWA-TNA World Heavyweight Championship: A great main event to determine the first NWA-TNA World Champion. Shamrock took Jarrett down with several suplex’s and takedowns looking for the ankle lock but Jarrett would reach the ropes every time. Jarrett would comeback and connect with a snap suplex and a double under hook face buster. Jarrett planted Shamrock with a DDT and locked in the figure four thinking he had the match won. However, Shamrock grabbed the ankle of Jarrett and managed to lock in the ankle lock. Jarrett let go of the hold and attempted to reach the ropes, but was unable to and submitted in the middle of the ring. After the match, Shamrock celebrates his win as the announcers put him over.
Mike Tenay, Don West and Ed Ferrera go over the main event and promote next week’s show. Don West does some over the top promoting of next weeks show. West goes over some of the matches which includes the Hotshots taking on the Rainbow Express. Brian Lawler makes his debut. Disco Inferno will take on Ron Killings and Scott Hall takes on Malice in a street fight. West, Tenay and Ferrera sign off.
End of show

BIG write ups a little more than I would like, love the extreme horsemen as champs rather than LOD great job if only Corino could do well now, glad Douglas won hopefully you make him deliever some badass promos, not too over on Red at this time just keep the belt on Ki, nice Jarrett promo just like his character, meh at Hotshots/Maximo, glad Daniels won won't mind if you built him up to take the title of Ki, Mike Awesome is well awesome, main event looked steller would have prefered Jarrett as Shamrock won it in real life, next show looks allright esp the street fight, good luck and keep this up.

Glad that The Extreme Horsemen won the NWA Tag Titles instead of LOD. Helps put The Extreme Horsemen over even more considering LOD are an extremely well known tag team. A Shane Douglas push is fantastic. Keep that up! Low-Ki/Amazing Red is a stellar match. Not surprised that Ki beat Red. I'd love a Daniels/Ki feud for the strap. Ken Shamrock as World Champion? <333 I love you.

At least conflicting opinions on predictions won't spoil anything. Surprised Extreme Horsemen won, thought Road Warriors initially would be your first champs. But at least it puts a new team over. Good win for Douglas in his debut, I wouldn't mind a good push for him. Ki over Red is fine, keeps the X-Title in the thick of things. Good Jarrett promo, figure he'll win the belt. Tag match seemed like filler. Like Shamrock getting time as well, makes the title match seem important. Glad Daniels found his way on the show. Don't mind Shamrock as champ as I thought JJ would have won. Very creative finish, like him grabbing JJ's ankle while JJ had in the figure four.
