I've been accused of being a hypocrite for saying that I am looking for somebody new to headline WWE shows, but disliking Sheamus for his recent push.
I like Sheamus, for a start.
But I really hate that he's getting a title shot, but whenever I tell somebody this, they accuse me of not liking somebody new, and they call me a hypocrite for saying I want somebody new...yes, his look is original, but good god that guy skipped a lot, going from killing barely used superstars to challenging for the WWE Championship.
It's like Vladimir Kozlov last year, look where he is now; ECW. He's gone up and down again. I know WWE are testing the waters, but regardless of win or lose, he won't have a long reign, and will fall back down the card.
Sheamus could've been built up alternatively, he could've stuck his nose into the United States Championship division, and WWE could've tested how his character goes as US Champ.
But as good as this experiment is, it will not end well for Sheamus in my eyes.
Your thoughts?

Agreed, the big fast push rarely works for anyone. If they're going to push new blood for the WWE Championship, it should be someone like MVP, Christian, Morrison who have atleast been there for a few years and held some midcard titles. I could definitely see Sheamus as a main eventer, but he will go the route of Kozlov this way.

I agree, I like Sheamus but despite coming off to a loss to Evan Bourne the week or two before, Jack Swagger would of made a lot more sense to get the shot. None the less, I'm sure the Sheamus push will be forgoten by new year and he'll probably be left of the Wrestlemania card.

Did I mention anything about their abilities? Swagger has been around since 2008 as an on screen character and has already wrestled Cena in what was an above average match. Sheamus has had a solid feud with Goldust, a rather lame feud with Shelton and thrown straight to Raw where he "retired" Jamie Noble.

Well you never really know what will happen to Sheamus. Maybe he will be a main eventer for years to come. I like him. He's good in the ring, respectable on the mic, and his look is somewhat unique.

I like Sheamus, but I really don't like the....for lack of better terminology, the Brock Lesnar push. What has Sheamus really done outside of the said feuds with Goldust and Shelton Benjamin? Nothing. I'm all for new matches that we've not seen before, but give him a match against Cena, non-title, before instantly pushing him to a title match.

I do think he's amazing, and he's right person for WWE Champion title shot, instead use some one like as Kofi Kingston.
But I think it was too soon for him to have a title shot. I can't see he win tomorrow night.
SO Give Ted DiBiase a title shot :-(

I think it will be like Koslov at SS 08 in the main event.
Someone will interupt and be added to the match and win.

I agree. I want to see new superstars get title shots. BUT, I wasn't expecting Kofi, Christian, Morrison, Carlito, MVP, Bourne, Swagger etc. to have to wait in line while Sheamus gets one.
He's been here a month or two. He's beaten Jamie Noble and Santino Marella. He's beaten up announcers. He's done the same jumping kick two or three times a show for the last fortnight or more. How the hell is he getting a WWE Title shot?
Mental.

Location: Holywood, Northern Ireland shocking. Two different countries. its the same thing, its just the northern part of ireland you live in, considering a football player born in NI can play for ROI. the unique position in Northern Ireland, whereby citizenship of the Republic of Ireland is the "birthright" of every person born on the island of Ireland if they so wish, sounds like the same place to me.

NI follows leadership of UK, ROI doesn't. That's essentially the only big difference. ROI/Sinn Fein holds a seat in Parliament, but they never bother to even show up. There's a difference. It's just Ireland as a whole knows they can make more money if they get along.

If you want to bring Football in to this... There are two seperate teams, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, there isn't a Northern Scotland and Southern Scotland team is there? no, because they're the same country. There isn't a Nothern England and Southern England football team is there? No, because they are the same country. Nothern Ireland and Republic of Ireland of seperate countries.

I don't think it's his time...but who knows? I mean, Lesnar won the WWE Title in a matter of months in 2002
