Pre-show
a. Brad Allen vs. Arik Cannon vs. Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O'Reilly vs. Lince Dorado vs. Johnny Gargano: Fun little opener that saw plenty of action and lots of great work from both Cannon and O'Reilly.
Order of elimination:
1. Jon Moxley DQ'ed after Brian Kendrick runs in and helps Moxley beat up everyone, including Bryce.
2. Johnny Gargano pins Brad Allen with a School Boy and a handful of tights.
3. Arik Cannon pins Lince Dorado following a Brainbuster and a Glimmering Warlock.
4. Arik Cannon pins Johnny Gargano following a rope-hung neckbreaker and a Glimmering Warlock.
5. Kyle O'Reilly pins Arik Cannon following a rope run Tornado DDT comboed into a Brainbuster.
b. AAW Heavyweight Championship Match: Silas Young (c) vs. Hallowicked: Silas comes out to "Don't Stop Believin'" which the crowd sings along to, even after the music stops and introductions begin. Great fun. Match was pretty short and not terrible by any means.Silas retains after hitting a top rope handstand into an Arabian Press
c. Darin Corbin vs. Jon Moxley: Moxley gets another chance to compete and ends up squashing Corbin soundly and fairly quick. Moxley finishes him off with a Glam Slam
We then get a long intermission and right as it seems we're going to start the PPV taping, Moxley & Kendrick storm the ring once again. Moxley calls out Tommy Dreamer. Kendrick says he doesn't need to prove anything to Dreamer because Dreamer sold his soul ten years ago. They eventually bail to the back. Kevin Harvey then tells us that wasn't really how they wanted to start things so they're going to have one more dark match.
d. TJP vs. Gran Akuma: Lots of stiff strikes by both men and Akuma shines in this little sprint. TJP gets the win however as he submits Akuma with what looked like a modified Indian Deathlock or Cloverleaf.
Now the taping finally begins.
1. CIMA & Super Crazy vs. Mike Quackenbush & Jigsaw: Fantastic opener. CIMA spends most of the match trying to instigate a fight with Quack who was on the apron for much of the first part of the match. Super Crazy was so damn hilarious. At one point while CIMA has Quack in a submission, Crazy enters the ring, picks up a very small piece of streamer from the mat and goes back to his corner, drawing an "OCD!" chant. Later, he grabbed a pair of thunderstix from the table and beat the hell out of Jigsaw with them, even hitting Bryce a few times when he tried to intervene. Great action mixed with boatloads of entertainment. Quackenbush gets the win, pinning Super Crazy with a grounded crucifix following an errant CIMA superkick on Super Crazy.
2. Brian Kendrick vs. Jimmy Jacobs: Kendrick gets on the mic before the match and notes the similarities in personality between he and Jimmy. Kendrick notes that he didn't watch tapes to try and get a psychological edge, instead he just called Lacey who walks out to the ring. Jimmy attacks Kendrick in a rage and the match begins. Definitely Kendrick's best outing so far but still nothing really special. Spends most of the time on offense, beating down a psyched out Jimmy. Finish comes when Jacobs has The End TIme locked in on Kendrick, Lacey enters the ring to distract Jimmy, she kisses him, Kendrick blindsides Jimmy and nails him with a Sliced Bread #2.
After the match, Jon Moxley comes out and levels Lacey with a lariat. They go to leave but Jimmy gets on the mic and mentions something about Kendrick's wife. Kendrick flips and he and Moxley start beating on Jimmy some more until Tommy Dreamer comes onto the stage. He and Moxley stare each other down long enough for Jacobs to recover and take out Kendrick. Moxley and Dreamer brawl all over the building with Dreamer getting the best of Moxley for the most part but Moxley getting the advantage at one point, only to be DDT'ed in the center of the ring. Dreamer poses for the crowd as "Man In The Box" plays.
3. FIP World Heavyweight Title: Masaaki Mochizuki (c) vs. Davey Richards: Mochizuki sporting new trunks and blonde hair making him look 10 years younger. As expected, this was a strike-fest with Mochizuki laying in some sickening kicks on Davey. Once again, Davey nearly breaks his back by landing on the concrete after a Tope Con Hilo. Davey does a great job selling the leg work Mochizuki was doing throughout the entire match. Finish comes when Davey hits a DR Driver II on Mochizuki, transitions into a Kimura when Mochizuki kicks out, transitions again into a Cross Armbreaker and finally into a Triangle Choke which Mochizuki passes out in. Another fantastic match.
Intermission
4. Elimination Tag Team Match: Naruki Doi & Masato Yoshino vs. The Young Bucks vs. Shingo & YAMATO: Another highly entertaining match with YAMATO standing out as being a total goofball. Every team gets to hit their signature spots and the pace is quick the entire way out. First elimination comes when Masato Yoshino pins Matt Jackson (I think) following a Doi 555's to Lightning Spiral combination. The match really gets good in this segment as the two remaining teams try their hardest to kill one another. Finish sees Shingo submit to Yoshino's Sol Naciente. Match Of The Night.
5. Open The Freedom Gate Championship: BxB Hulk vs. Dragon Kid (w/CIMA): BxB has dancers and dances but the girls are terrible. Very solid match that wasn't nearly on the level of the two previous matches but still very good in its own right. Crowd is red-hot for BxB Hulk throughout the match. Very back and forth contest which saw both men on the verge of defeat numerous times. BxB pins Dragon Kid following an EVOP after Kid kicked out of an Avalanche EVO, a regular EVO and an FTX.
After the match, Gran Akuma, Davey Richards & YAMATO rush the ring and start putting the boots to both BxB and Kid and CIMA when he tries to intervene. Eventually Shingo comes out and breaks it up and has a staredown with YAMATO but then the two smile at each other and Shingo levels Dragon Kid with a Lariat. Arik Cannon & Brad Allen try to intervene but they get overwhelmed relatively quickly. The CHIKARA guys then rush the ring with Quack having a staredown with YAMATO before tackling him and going to town with right hands. CIMA then returns to the ring with a broom and cleans house (pun intended), leaving him standing alone.
CIMA then gets on the microphone and thanks us for coming out and says that in Phoenix, he's bringing Gamma with him. He asks us if we'd like Dragon Gate to come back and we all enthusiastically confirm and CIMA thanks us a final time and his music plays him out.
