With many of the WWE's top in-ring performers either in their 40's or approaching. Along with a crop of oft-injured guys like Edge, Batista & Mysterio. What is in store for WWE's future?
I'm not going to be foolish and predict doom and gloom for the WWE, since they are obviously financially secure for decades to come, but what will happen to the in-ring quality when many of the WWE's top stars are gone. I don't see anyone stepping up into the roles of Triple H, Undertaker & HBK.
John Cena, Randy Orton & CM Punk are not in the same league as the trio I listed above, but the burden to carry the WWE will fall on them, and to be honest I don't see that as compelling TV.
I mentioned the injury plagued trio of Tista, Rey, & Edge whom are also getting older. Not a good combo.
With Finlay in his 50's and Regal in his 40's, and the rest of WWE's top workers all over 35 or approaching 40 (Matt Hardy, Christian, Mark Henry, Jericho & Big Show. I can not help but wonder what is going to happen in 5 years when all of these guys are gone.
The younger stars that people on here cream themselves over (Swagger, Kofi, Bourne, McIntyre, Morrison, Hart Dynasty & Miz) do nothing for me. I do however see good things in store for Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase & Sheamus, but I doubt any of those 3 will make as big an impact in the business as the trio of Taker, Trips & HBK.
What do you guys see happening in 5 years?

Triple H will definitely still be around in five years...dunno about HBK and taker, though.
Cena, Orton, and Punk are all very talented and in Orton and Cena's case, already ARE carrying the company and have been for a while.
Batista and Mysterio aren't needed to carry the company in my opinion, and WWE will be fine when they are gone...Edge hopefully comes back soon and stays injuy prone for a while.
Finlay and Regal aren't huge names as it is, so that's not a big deal.
Christian I see still having several years left, and even Jericho...Henry and Show aren't necessities (though I like both), so it's hit or miss there.
I love Kofi, and to me he's like an RVD...doesn't do much on the mic, but explosive in the ring for it not to matter.
Swagger will stay for a while, but I dunno if he'll ever really revolutionize anything.
McIntyre isn't bad, and he'll keep improving, same with Morrison, Hart Dynasty, and definitely Miz and MVP.
Rhodes I don't see ever becoming much, and DiBiase may, if they give him more time on the microphone.
I dunno what to even think of Sheamus, he's the WWE Champion and yet never even talks...so we'll see what happens with him in future months/years, it's unknown right now.

It's a tough call right now. Looking at Triple H as a blue blood, or even in WCW, it was nearly impossible to predict he would become as big as he is now.
Right now, guys like Miz, Morrison, McIntyre, Kofi, and Swagger all have enough potential to be main event draws. It just depends on how well WWE will build them up, because none of them are really being treated as main eventers YET. Miz and Kofi had a taste but they still have a ways to go. DiBiase is a future star too, mainly because it seems they're intent on making him one. He's got it in his blood and he's getting better on the mic. Even on top of that, I prefer Cody to Ted and wouldn't be surprised to see him break through.
In terms of guys like Hunter, Shawn, and 'Taker who are legends...it's really hard to tell. I know people make comparisons with Morrison and Shawn, but man, they REALLY are on point. Both men got their big break in a tag team. Early Shawn and Morrison both rely on flashy moves, but Morrison has learned a great deal on psychology in the past year too, and his high-spot moves are becoming more connected. His selling has improved ten-fold, as well. I'm not saying he'll be as good as Shawn Michaels is...that's damn near impossible...but I definitely see him as a future star.
Also, Swagger is pure money. On the mic, in the ring, aggressiveness, talent, I love Swagger. He's gold.

I think Miz has potential to be biggest star of all of them.

No good. Have you seen the quality of guys they have in FCW now? It is mostly cleanshaven, bodybuilding prettyboys given fake, generic names that sound like they were plucked from a phone book. There are plenty of guys the WWE shouldve never fired and consider bringing back soon.

There are plenty of guys the WWE shouldve never fired and consider bringing back soon. I wanted to mention this, but I felt my 1st post was too long. The FCW roster looks like the binders that porn movie casting agents thumb through to find performers for their next production. It's a tough call right now. Looking at Triple H as a blue blood, or even in WCW, it was nearly impossible to predict he would become as big as he is now. I saw potential in him the moment he debuted in the WWF. He did something that none of the young guys on the roster do, and that is connect and interact with the crowd. He put himself over from the moment he walked out the curtain, by snubbing his nose to them and playing up his blue blood gimmick. During his matches he continued to interact with them as well as after the bell rang and he made his way backstage. Triple H has always been great. I see nobody matching him, or even coming close. As for the Morrison - HBK comparisons, those are like comparing paradise to hell. HBK is one of the top 3 modern era wrestlers to ever step foot in a ring. Morrison is all look and no substance.
