*Yes, it is short, but I only needed to do this to finish the build up for the PPV*
Jim Ross: Welcome to the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Tonight we have an 8 man over the top battle royal featuring The Freebirds, The Horsemen and Terry Funk.
Bobby Heenan: What great action that will be, I'm really looking forward to it. Also this is the last show before Superbrawl
Vince and Nash started off and everything was looking good for Nash as he dominated McMahon until he threw Vince into the corner and he ducked running to tag in Luger. He tagged in Luger and stayed out for the rest of the match. Luger tried working over Nash, but quickly became frustrated and demanded Orndorff be tagged in. Nash obliged and tagged in Orndorff. The two men ready to battle for the US title at Superbrawl hooked up and Orndorff got the advantage. Near the end, Luger picked up Orndorff for the torture rack, but Nash came in and delivered a big boot to Luger. Orndorff picked Luger up and hit a devastating piledriver and pinned Luger. McMahon didn't bother coming to his rescue and Orndorff and Nash picked up the the victory. Post match, Nash tried getting McMahon into the ring, but he just ran off. Orndorff delivered another piledriver to Luger and said that Sunday he was going to win the US title.
The main event of the evening was the 8 man battle royal. All men entered the ring and waited for the bell to ring to begin the action. As soon as the bell rang, Dean Malenko low blowed Arn Anderson and threw him out of the ring, shouting I accept your challenge. The Horsemen one man short as they will be after this Sunday's PPV, tried to stop the onslaught of attack by the Freebirds and Terry Funk. Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy ganged up on Tully Blanchard and after a few minutes of working him over threw him over the top. Hayes then joined up with Funk attacking Flair and Gordy joined up with Roberts attacking Malenko. In a scene we saw earlier in the match, Flair dropped to his knees and low blowed Funk and Hayes. He slid under the ropes and went to get a chair. After getting the chair he went back in the ring and started using it on Funk and Hayes. After a few shots, Flair grabbed Hayes and threw him out of the ring. Gordy and Roberts were too much for Malenko and they ended up throwing him out. It was down to Flair, his chair, Funk, Gordy and Roberts. Gordy and Roberts approached Flair, but he came out swinging nailing both men in the head with the chair. He then used the chair to hit at his opponent's legs. Funk stumbles to his feet and starts throwing punches in Flair's direction, but Flair swats at him with a chair. Funk takes a chair shot but remains standing. Flair swings the chair at Funk, Funk ducks, the chair hits the ropes and comes back and hits Flair in the head and he falls to the ground. Gordy and Roberts get up, but Funk tells them to leave so he can have Flair all to himself. He says if they don't go, he will eliminate them. They laugh and start attacking Funk. Flair eventually regains consciousness and helps Funk with Gordy and Roberts. They get Gordy and Roberts to the ropes, they run to the other side of the ring and back and clothesline them over the top rope. It is now down to Funk and Flair. Flair tries grabbing Funk and eliminating him, but it does not work Funk fights Flair off. After 5 minutes of fighting and elimination attempts, Arn Anderson runs into the ring, grabs the chair and nails Terry Funk with the chair. He falls to the ground, but Anderson and Flair get him right up and throw him over the top rope giving Flair the victory.
Heenan: What an impressive victory.
JR: He cheated to win, that's not impressive. I doubt he would have been able to do that if Arn Anderson hadn't interfered.
Heenan: Bah, you're just doubting the world champion and his powers. He's the greatest in the company and could have thrown everybody out of the ring if he wanted to.
JR: I really don't want to get into this with you. We will get to see those two battle it out again at Superbrawl, so we'll see who the real winner is, until then, good night.
