Then, you have no idea what it is to be a collector.

It's 1,000 per series, at least what I thought. Not 1,000 per figure. I don't think they'd do 6,000 per series. I've never seen the same number on 2 different figures. You thought wrong then.

For me, it's the thrill of the in-store hunt. I could pay an absurd amount of money for the belted figures online, or take my chances running around town a few times a week/month and see who's out there.
I've found 7 in store so far, and in a few days, I'll make the rounds again. If I find some, great, if I don't, at least I got out of the house! lol

it's just a fun little thing Mattel did,to commemorate the inception of the Mattel line....in essence, making chase figures...i would never pay a ton of money for one,but i'd be willing to drop $20 or so for one i really wanted...
the belts themselves are nice, made of a fake leather and felt strap, with die-cast gold plates...
figure they make about 20,000 or so of each figure, and that's estimating LOW....so that would leave only 1000 out of those 20,000 with a belt...those are low odds to finding one....hence the collectability of these...
is anyone going to get rich off these? no...but i do kind of like the feeling of having them..."Hey,i found one!" ....personally,if i could find an Undertaker and HHH,i'd be done actively searching for them....
only ones that WILL be worth some money, because someone WILL want them for their collection, will be Austin - #0316 , Undertaker - #0666 , Mysterio- #0619, Kane - #0666 ,plus the #0001 ,and possibly #1000 of some of the figures...

Then, you have no idea what it is to be a collector. I do, i have a 1/100 Toyfair Eddie which is actually worth something, this is something basically mass produced since each guy has 1000 of them and the only "collectors" are the scalpers having a field day on ebay.

Collecting involves seeking, displaying, and maintaining items of interest to individuals. It has little to do with value.

I've got #122/1000 Orton, which I found at K-Mart on New Year's Day. I'll only buy them if I can find them at stores, aside from the extremely unlikely shot of finding someone on here or eBay with a #1/1000 Sheamus whenever we get one. Which pretty much has no chance of happening.

Because people like the thrill of finding them and chasing the numbers down and seeing what they get. With 1/500s they were just all generic but its cool that these are numbered. Sure they are going for average prices at the moment but they may go up a bit when the abundance of them decreases. The really special numbers though like superstar specific ones and #1s and such will obviously hold value.
The 1/1000 is like any other promotion, its something fun and exciting for people to join in on and try and find a limited item. To say they arent worth anything isnt a fair call though because plenty of people seem to be able to double there money or at least increase it by 50% but as i said over time these prices will get better.
I know some people on here get a bit excited by them as you said but its because of the thrill of getting a limited item. 1,000 isnt really that much, the normal IE under jakks was 1/3,000 so theres less of these most IEs.

i have #16 undertaker which is cool because the figure is based on the WM which he became 16 and 0.
and i have #13 kane which i think is also pretty cool.
I want all my belts to be at least #500 and under because i feel im am continuing my 1 of 500 collection over from jakks

Well damn.....I thought it was 1000 per series. I'll probably pass on them now, knowing they are anywhere from 1/1000 to 1/6000 per series. Keeping the 3 I have MOC though.

I've actually passed on some. The only one I got was Mark Henry and that's only because my wife bought it for me & didn't realize the difference. If it comes with someone I want then I'll get it, but I won't buy any extra to keep MOC.
Except Triple H #888. That would be cool because H is the 8th letter in the alphabet.

They are really no big deal since each figure in each set has 1000.
Even on ebay, each go for US$20-25. And they are ugly to boot.
The only reason i bought a few from Ebay is cos they have low numbers not like 564 or 782.
Jakks' 1/500 belts were so much better but rarer. I remember forking out RA Morrision 1/500 for US$60 or US$65 before shipping.
At least, it was a belt they actually used in the ring.

Its not that much of an issue. Depending on hows the lineups are, in a few sets time we could be seeing sets with not a single belt in it. Once a superstar appears, they are done. i have #16 undertaker which is cool because the figure is based on the WM which he became 16 and 0. and i have #13 kane which i think is also pretty cool. The taker at number 16 is a really lucky find though, one of the best numbers for Taker.

At least, it was a belt they actually used in the ring. they are only for the first single release of each wrestler in the basic/heritage line. so there might be series down the line with 0 belts depending on the line up. either way they are kind of a cool display piece, i got bournes and its displayed on him and a few of my buddies have already asked about it, so it catches the eye cause its so odd.
