I'm with you.
I honestly don't understand why people say Jakks is better than Mattel. A few head scans are better, and the body sizes are the same size as UFC DA. So what's with the hate? Mattel is wayyy better.

Wow it seems like you need to calm down and stop stressing about something as trivial as action figures. There's kids starving out there, people getting raped, innocent people being murdered, the list goes on.
To get a headache over an inanimate object? oh common now

I was one of Jakks biggest supporters from day one in 1996. I have bought BCA,TTL,RA<CS, the only thing i didn't buy was DA since they were more then RA and it was getting to be to much money to collect everything. WE basically saw them and the toy industry evolve before our eyes with new technology coming out to make the figures bigger and better. Then They lost the liscense and skimped out on details and other things. This is when i started losing faith in the Jakks product. I still gave them the benefit of the doubt saying hey if i lost the contract i wouldn't be giving the WWE my best work either, then i see the TNA lines. They are terrible. I don't know why or what Jakks is thinking with these. The legends line is a complete joke so far. Are they really going to release Scott Steiner with that tattoo on his chest? That is FAR from classic. Jakks now has competition with their product and it seems like they can care less. Jeremy has slapped us collectors in the face more then enough times weather it be getting people signed for the classic line then not producing them, giving us lame excuses why details are not there (chinese new year), rereleasing figures that had a good resale value, i mean no one collects figures to make money down the road but if something is worth 50$ and you pay 10$ for it, you should be abe to get that for it not have the company rerelease them basically and selling them for 10$ decreasing the original value.
I am really fed up with Jakks and will not collect any TNA. I may buy one or 2 if that and it would have to be someone i really like or personally know.Enless Jakks really steps up and decides to redo their lines and put scale and accuracy into their product or they will be sitting on shelves for a long time just like their last WWE stuff is.

After reading his reply to what I said, his message was more clear to me. But I didn't see any input, I saw someone saying action figures are causing him distress, which is just unhealthy.

Why would we talk about kids starving in the "JAKKS Wrestling Figure Talk" discussion thread?

I agree. This is a typical example of "suits" not paying attention but second guessing things and assuming they know what they are doing. DA figures NEVER sold as well as RA figures in any store that I shopped in. I would go back and find the same DA figures week after week where the RA figures would sell really quickly. Kids that I have talked to dislike the size and flimsiness of the DA figures....
I am not surprised but I am dissappointed that my collecting ends before it needed to end.

Nah you guys don't get it. I was saying that they're figures. It's a hobby, something to do for fun. Why are you going to let it emotionally get to you like that when there's alot bigger problems in the world?
It's something to do for fun or display, not to stress over. It's not the end of the world if a figure isn't released. Do you get where I was coming from now?

Lol, I mean I agree wholeheartedly but I CAN undertaker people's frustration here. I mean Jakks announced that they picked up the TNA contract 02/13/2008. That's TWO years to get their **** together for this line. Even with the WWE figures still going, I know they could have at least been putting a little more effort into this line, and it looks like a they threw their big display for their TNA section together Friday night at the last minute, rather than bang out stuff the way Mattel has.
Hell Jakks showed us some AMAZING UFC stuff that I'm dying to get my hands on, but as for TNA...damn...I just don't know anymore. I guess Mattel has spoiled me with all their great effort(scale, removeable entrance gear, etc)

I'm with you. Now that I know RA is officially dead, I'm done with Jakks. They were great once. Not so much now. I'll buy the Micro Aggression stuff, but only to customize as it's a great way to have a huge collection while I'm living at school.

Mattel heh... I do not know what to tell you buddy. there will always be something better. If Jakks does not improve, oh well. I am not going to switch to Mattel, cause Jakks released all the superstars I liked.
More to that if Jakks continue with this stupid DA or what ever this crap is called DI I will just buy them to get a couple of head scans that I am missing for my customs he he.
Mattel is a joke, open your eyes. Stop wasting all your money go to the gym, start lifting weights, take a class in Kick Boxing and Greco-Roman wrestling. What ever you do hold on to you money do not spend them all in one place.
Remember - Mattel will fall sooner than Jakks and then there will be someone better... you would have to start from the scratch bro, do not let plastic printing vampires suck you dry...

Yeah, it is a shame, and after reading the replies, realise more than ever that we all collect in different ways, and yet it's still something which is disappointing, considering how wanted RA is as a style.
Not knocking the other styles Jakks makes, but to me, RA is perfect and something they should have been proud of...either way, hearing of how Jakks wanted to go out with a bang for WWE and now this TNA ToyFair stuff lends me to believe that I also will be done collecting before I actually want to stop.

i can't truthfully say that i didn't expect this coming we saw it with wwe, now we get tna and we were hoping for a fresh new start and then, just like expected, jakks goes back to their old ways and leaves us collecters with nothing but low quality mediocre figures jakks has produced some great figures, i can't deny that, but you would think that with the tna line they would actually try to satisfy the customers i guess i'll have to pass on the tna line, and in something worth my money, like mattel

And 85% of the people who swear to never buy another Jakks product will do so anyway. Jakks had heard the same bitching and moaning everytime the evolved into the next line. Trust, I was a bitcher. I was a moaner. I swore to never buy again......twice.

How many figures has Jakks half assed and people say Oh i'll get it anyway and paint w/e or i'll do w/e to it and make it right. Jakks loves it since they make money regardless, actually they make more. I stand by my decision to not support Jakks TNA lines at all. I said from Day 1 if its half ass im not. I said the same about WWE DA and have 0 in my collection.

i've bought the good mattel's but im not that impressed i think people like mattel just because they like to bitch about jakks, so mattel have individual scans? no they dont, they have MORE scans, as the mattel line goes on, we'll see the same scans over and over again. the accessories, the t-shirts in the elite series look awful, the seams look like they haven't been finnished properly, compared to jakks t-shirt, which looked great. plastic - the quality of material used for the figures is poor, we've seen this many people have said that when opening their ------ figure a foot/arm/leg has fallen off. arms - the shoulder joint is too big, making the arm look miniscule on the joint. chest - the chest seems to have imploded inwards, where as most real wrestlers have bolder wider chests. Price! way OTT £17 for a two pack is laughable
mattel do have a few ups though the fact that they include the t-shirts is nice, even if they are a little shoddy enterance greats look great, something jakks never attempted some scans are great like Kane, Hornswoggle.

it's a shame how we were die hard collectors and now Jakks just crushes our dreams. I myself have a RAGING headache day in and day out because I really enjoy the mattel figures but I have to just buy more and more to REALLY enjoy them. If collection toys is making you sick then you should really take a sit down and have a thought about it. Cause its wrong at so many levels. Jakks dont have Barbie pumping their budgets. I dont believe they look at their products and say "Okay, lets see how we can turn this into a piece of garbage and then sell it." They do what they can. I saw TNA protos. I like TNA protos. I will buy TNA figures. Almost everything in fact. You dont like it.... yeah its a fair thing. You even have an alternative now! Just let it go man... and stop making a drama out of it.
