I had recently seen the new wwe legends figures from mattel and saw that they made nwa versions of the road warriors which I did pre-order already and before I go on I just wanna say that yes I do undertsand that this is the section for jakks figures and mattel should only be mentioned in their respective section but heres why I write this here and it may have been mentioned but I have yet to see a post about it so here it goes.
now that jakks has acquired the entire nwa liscence, does that mean we could see an nwa version of the road warriors made by jakks also? it just made me wonder, anybody else think of this too?

It would be nice. The more Road Warriors the better...but it'll depend on how Animal and Hawk's estate (wife) had their merchadise contracts written up. If they signed something exclusive with Mattel then no we won't.

i doubt it TBH, but you never know. I always wanted to see a snarling headscan Hawk and a different Animal headscan wouldn't hurt either.

mabey i dont think either company owned the attires, i dont think its possible to own an attire... It doesn't have to do with the attire as I'm pretty sure they were owned by the Road Warriors...but if they signed an exclusive contract with Mattel then Jakks can't make them. So it all depends on what kind of contract they signed. Of course with that being said I think they are still under contract with Jakks so it looks like both companies should be able to make them. The reason I think they are still under contract with Jakks is because they just re-released the CS6 Road Warriors. And I would think if they weren't still under contract they wouldn't have been re-released (Like the CS1 Warrior who didn't get re-released)

They had to be still under their license agreement or Jakks couldn't release them. I think the license ended on Dec 31, but they had until May or June to release everything they had already produced prior to Jan 1st. Still I think the Road Warriors would have left themselves open to both companies. I guess we'll know in a few months.

Still it was my favorite Hawk facepaint from Jakks. Even if they didn't have the "taller kicker" boot mold back then they did have the "Kane boot mold" which would have been better than LACED boots. Would it have killed Jakks to do this - CS 9 Hawk Fixup -(red lettering) CS 9 Hawk Fixup - (yellow lettering)

If ever Jakks gets to make classic Road Warriors, hope they give them new scans and not just re-use their old Jakks/WWE heads. They probably have to custom a different Hawk head for that since they can scan him anymore. Or maybe they had old facial expressions from previous scanning back in the Jakks/WWE days. Or maybe unique face paints?

Or maybe unique face paints? They can scan his photos. That's what they did for others who weren't around anymore. At least that's what they said. And as much as I liked the tougne out scan when Hawk was released in CSTT1 I always wanted a scan of Hawk without his tounge hanging out. (I love the Mattel scan)

Animal owns all rights, likeness and indicia of the Road Warriors and Legion Of Doom.outright.he has to pay Hawks widow 50% of any profit he makes.from DVDs,merchadise etc etc I dont think Animal signed an exclusive contract with Mattel because he is a very savvy business man.he knows Jakks are planning an NWA line and honestly The Road Warriors are intregal to that line.crucial actually.so he has either extended his deal with Jakks or is open to resigning.in all honesty Jakks have been good to Animal he has no reason to burn them. as for Mattel its not like they can say"sign an exclusive deal or theres no deal"because they too are aware of the selling power of The Road Warriors and the plusses of signing them. in closing Jakks are no fools where Hawk and Animal are concerned-they know they sell like hot cakes......and I think theres a reason we didnt get NWA or Deluxe RWs from Jakks......the deluxe especially was a glaring omission considering all their other multi relases got a deluxe.I think they didnt make them then because they didnt have to

who even cares, no offense, we've already seen NWA style road warriors by jakks in RA. nope not even close man. Jakks "attempt" at CS9 Hawk was neither AWA or NWA-just good for customs.and to make it worse they just abandoned the concept and never did Animal in this style.

Yes Road Warriors would be nice. But Jakks better come up with some new scans and they need to correct those terrible looking shoulder pads. "Another" company had a better job on those pads (hate to admit it about them but it is true).
