The thing annoying me about the Orton V DiBiase Fued, is that the WWE are gaining nothing from it, except a pointless Orton face turn.
Surely it would make more sense to have DiBiase become the face instead of Orton? With DiBiase as the Heel in this, it only means he'll loose to Orton at Wrestlemania, and eventually fade away as an average heel that nobody really cares for. This is their chance to produce a new face for the Company in Ted DiBiase, and launch his Singles Career. He will not become a Star otherwise, and to me it just seems a bit pointless to have the whole of Legacy come to an end just for an Orton face turn.
The Pros for Orton becomming face I suppose is that it could be a fresh change and there will be a lack of face Main Eventers on Raw once HBK leaves in April. He wont be half as over as a face as he is a heel. His gimmick is perfect and shouldn't be touched.
The Pros for DiBiase going face, would mean he could get a massive win over Orton at Wrestlemania, launching his Singles Career into stardom. Not that I rate DiBiase much anyway, for his own benefit he needs to go face.
I understand the problem being that the majority of fans would still rather cheer for Orton even if he was the heel, but that's just because he's simply better than DiBiase anyway.

Also, Orton face means some fresh main event feuds.

Theres really no faces left for Orton to feud with on Raw anyway so as much as I too hate to see him go face at least it'll be newer matches for him.

Because Orton is over and DiBiase isn't. I know this is the reason Orton's getting cheered for at the moment, but it's there chance to get DiBiase over. |

I think a reason for it is, Orton has been the one being screwed over by Legacy, therefore, he is garnering sympathy. If they did it differently from day one, it could've been the other way around. But, Orton took them under his wing, now they're betraying him. Good guys wouldn't do that, so, for the time being, Orton has to be the face. I don't think it'll last long though. Nor do I think he will ever be fully over as a face... The little kids probably won't cheer the guy any time soon.

im pretty sure the plan was always to have dibiase as the heel, but i think wwe have had their decision swayed by the reactions orton has been getting as of late.

Orton already gets cheered. It would be hard for Ted to be the face when Orton - the heel - gets more cheers than him.

He really hasn't changed anything about him and the fans just started turning him face. I wouldn't mind Ted getting his father to manage him and be the voice and help get him over. Then Ted co uld turn on his father setting up a bigger heel turn.

orton is leaps and bounds more over than ted. I don't care who austin passed the beer to orton is our austin..and hes only just getting started. Besides if ted was face hed be pretty similar to cena I think minus the actual gimmick.

Orton already bombed at being a face once, I don't see why he's not going to fail again. He's just not likable enough to ever be a face.

Orton is definitely headed down the rebellious face path. I still think they have turned DiBiase face and shoved him down our throats (ala Cena), regardless of if he was getting over or not. Now he will be left to squander in the midcard with Rhodes. |

Because the fans, right now, give absolutely 0% care for Dibiase and he is one of the least over guys on the roster. It is MUCH harder to get over as a face than it is as a heel. He needs to establish a really good heel character and get the crowd to you know...actually care about him...before he turns face...
If he had turned face these last few weeks, it may have very well ended his career.

Very well written and makes total sense. Nice to see someone on WFigs making sense. I agree. I think DiBiase could have easily been the face in this... but there were a few mistakes made. Firstly, DiBiase pinned Orton in the chamber... in Orton's hometown. Then, it was Ted and Cody planning to attack Orton after that 6-man tag team match on RAW, and then it was Orton who was one step ahead. Add to that that Orton was already beginning to get cheered again, and that it was Legacy costing him match after match, they looked like the heels, and looking back they were probably meant to be. But the problem for me is, Orton treated them both like crap for a year and a half, and so it should have been one of them (DiBiase) standing up to him, and one of them (Rhodes) sucking up to him, making DiBiase a face. |

The Rock already bombed at being a face once, I don't see why he's not going to fail again. He's just not likable enough to ever be a face despite being a heel that is getting cheered like crazy by the audience. |

I think Cody turns on Dibiase to keep Orton as a heel and push Dibiase as a face. The only way Dibiase would get any heat turning face is if he's left as a fool. Rhodes turning on Dibiase and costing him a match against Orton would be a good way to get Dibiase over - granted not completely over but they have to start somewhere. Having Dibiase be in complete control and about to win would gain sympathy by having Rhodes double cross him. Look at the reaction Dibiase got when he pinned Orton at the Elimination Chamber? It's okay, I think this has been done great because Rhodes is the x-factor in this group and where ever he goes the face will be on the opposite end. And methinks Rhodes goes with Orton.
And you need not to worry about where to go with the new Orton-Rhodes pairing because you can always have them teaming with each other (or at least aligned with each other) until the Draft. You send Rhodes to Smackdown and finally ends the Legacy breakup. Dibiase would be face (obviously putting him with strong faces like Cena or DX or Christian even to get a good rub for him) and have them face Orton-Rhodes up until the draft. Heck, you can even give Dibiase the US championship by beating The Miz - even beating Miz at this point in Miz's career would be seen as an upset, especially if it'll be for the US Championship.
All is not lost on Dibiase's face turn.

What if DiBiase wins? I think DiBiase could get cheers if he wins. They could have Orton attempt to punt Dibiase and then he can win. I'm pretty sure he'd get cheered for.

it's pointless orton can't be a face. he will suck at it. he's an amazing heel and turning him face will put the company at a defict
