What audio file types can be ripped to an xbox 360 hard drive using an audio cd? I read on the xbox website that MP3 and WMA files cannot be ripped. So what audiuo files can be ripped?

You have to just burn an audio disc in order to rip. Basically, if you can't play it in an old CD player, you won't be able to rip it.

It doesn't matter what you put on the disc if you burn it the right way. What do you use to burn discs?

The cd im using is a CD-R cd. I read on the microsoft website that WMA and MP3 files cannot be ripped to the xbox 360 hard drive using a CD.

That's because if you burn the CD-R as a data CD then you're not able to rip it in the typical sense because it's not an audio CD and the 360 only supports ripping from audio CDs.
Pretty much, if you can only put about 16-20 songs on the CD, then you'll be able to rip. If you're able to put way more songs on a single CD, then you won't be able to rip.

Any music files should work provided that you burn it as an audio CD and not a data CD. If it's a data CD, no files will work. I really don't know how to explain this more clearly. I would assume you made the post because you have tried and it didn't work. If you haven't tried it, just burn a disc and try it. If you are able to put more than around 20 files (it does not matter what type) on the disc, then you won't be able to rip it.
