Just like I posted on my Facebook, right after the conclusion of the match:
Thank you, Shawn Michaels! Thank you for such an illustrious career, for giving everything you had each and every single time you stepped into that ring. Thank you for the childhood memories, for coming back when it was all but impossible. Thank you for everything, Shawn! God bless.
I will, no doubt, miss Shawn. He was the first one who truly made an impact on me when I was a little kid. The very first Royal Rumble game on Sega Genesis, I was always Shawn. No one else was allowed to be him, LoL. He made the first impact on me as a kid, and I was a fan from that moment on. Even the dick-ish heel in 1997-1998, I still was an HBK fan. So I will definitely miss him.

The greatest of all-time, and the guy who kept me watching from 2004-now.

I am also one of those who watched Shawn Michaels for a while and I am full of mixed emotions. One side of me will miss him on TV another thinks that he has given a lot to this company and to his loyal fans and is now where he should be a father to his kids. If this is truly his last match then I would like to thank the man who has entertained us for so long and have had so many memorable matches. If now he does not retire I honestly think that he will be less active on WWE as a performer. I loved his matches and I can honestly say I dont think there is really anything left for this man to do. He was a true "Superstar" of WWE. He entertained us for so long as a heel or face but he never gave anything than less 100% to that I think we all should owe him some respect and a debt of gratitude. Now I believe that Shawn is a man of his word meaning if he was considering retiring, he must have put a lot of thought into his decision and going to TNA would not be an option since he has was given opportunity to leave to go to WCW previously. Shawn has really been here the last few years for the fans and I honestly believe that. So I doubt he would have us lose his respect for him as to leave and jump ship to TNA just to go for a run with a company. I think HBK has been putting himself out there and has been doing a lot for the WWE and now its time for him to be family man and to be a great father to his kids. If this is really the last time we see him perform than it was really a treat to see him perform for so many years if its not than I honestly think that the career ending match seems quite unnecessary.

Leave it to WF to completely bash me. I say one ing thing and I get tons of posts making fun of me. Wasn't this site made to have fun? I never thought it was made to bash people. I don't bash people, if someone says something stupid you shouldn't make them feel bad about it. God, sometimes I ing hate this site. You're not allowed to have a contrary opinion to the masses on here. It's clearly written in the WF board rules. Now go be a good sheep

The greatest wrestler of all time is really hanging up the boots. I just can't believe it. I never thought I'd see HBK leave. I don't think he's gone for good, but I doubt we'll see him for a long time.
I never wanted to know a WWE without Shawn Michaels. Hands down my all time favorite performer. That match was just as good as last year which is all I wanted. What an ending!
On a side note, I really wish JR was there to call that match. Michael Cole just annoyed the hell out of me.

Ive got a feeling that WHEN his inducted into the 'Hall of Fame' he'll have one last match against HHH at Mania and win, it could even be next year. No way would 'Mr Wrestlemania' want to go out losing at the biggest event of them all! It just cant happen, if it has....then thank you Shawn, for the memories and entertainment that i grew up watching....LEGEND!

Wow, I was surprised by how many people besides myself quit watching after Wrestlemania 14, I did, too. Feel like I have not much reason to watch anymore, Shawn was a huge draw for me. Also guilty of shedding tears as well. Whether he comes back or not, this just guarantees that he won't have much more of a career even if he does wrestle after this. Would have liked to see that title run that so many of us have been waiting for. Sad.

How long after WMXIV did Shawn announce his first retirement? I can't remember if it was immediately after or a short while after, anyone remember?

HBK will always be the man... and he will never go to TNA, he has enough respect for himself not to even consider that... Yeah, because he'd be a moron to consider still doing what he loves, and making decent money, all the while only having to work a few days a week and only drive about an hour to work. Yep, it would be really stupid of Shawn to still be a wrestler but be able to tuck his kids in at night. Speaking of sheep....
