Ok my friend goes to ITT tech wants me to help him do a report on some wrestling. Thing is he dont really know that much about wrestling...probley watched it maybe 10xs 5 of them being recent . This is what Iv come up with so far just wanted to share it with some of you. Let you relate, hate or appreciate it for what it is and thats basically just a personal view of how wrestling has changed from the time I was born in the late 80's till now.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wrestling...Yesterday And Today. Im gonna started this off by saying. "I really hate how things in Professional Wrestling have changed SO much over the years".
Yes things change over time but from the 1980's wrestling to the current is totally different in EVERYWAY. From the way it was broadcasted and televised, the wrestling personalities and just the look of it itself. Wrestlers now days break the rule of a wrestling code often called "Kayfabe" and could meen ALOT of different things one being NOT TO SAY THAT WRESTLING IS FAKE!
In 1984 20/20 reporter John Stossel got smacked to the ground when he stated to a WWF wrestler "Dr. D (death)" David Schultz that wrestling is fake! Now days fools like the beloved paper champion John Cena would just straight tell you. Now Wrestling has took a step in the wrong direction in my opinion.
WWE fans state that from 1986 to 96 were "The Golden Years" of wrestling in the WWF. Colorful almost comic book style personalities like Macho Man Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior,Hulk Hogan,Undertaker,Bret Hart,Razor Ramon and countless others ruled the Squared Circle selling out arenas night after night and setting records for attendance that not even a SUPERBOWL could match! In 1995/96 (not sure) WWF Marked A New Era Called The New Generation which had superstars like Shawn Michaels,Triple H,Undertaker,Razor Ramon,Diesel and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the spot light still selling out arenas and putting on some damn good shows. Then I belive around 98 the Attitude Era began! Which by then WWF had seemed to have trown out their good ol' red white and blue ropes and replaced 'em with some red for RAW shows and sometimes Black. Also changing the Entrance into what was later known as "The Titaintron"! WWF took wrestling in a new direction with vulgur speach, sexy women in barley a rag, seemed like more blood and seen men like SCSA and Undertaker do what ALOT of us wish we could and thats Beat the hell out of "The Boss"! Which Ended.....ofcouse.
Then when they changed from Being on Longtime network USA to Spike tv when for some reason they decided to go into what many call a "PG Era" where the wrestlers where pretty much bitches and have no character to them what so ever seems like. So basically its just a guy in his wrestling gear and he was a "Face" or "Heel" which is Good Guy,Bad Guy...and Also boring as HELL. Now with wrestling in its "PG Era" what eles could it move on to. Its changed so much over the years. Even since i was born wrestling has done a complete change for a minute seemed like a good change but it was all over so quickly! And took a turn for the worse. Im writing this because people should know that from the 70's,80's, and 90's era that once was thought to be a sport for the toughest S.O.B around is now turning into what could be the sport for the Best Looking, Pretty Boy, Cheap Poppin' "Sports Entertainer"
