I highly recommend this one I have one and its great it upscales your DVDs into 1080p if you have a hd TV. Its pretty small and compact as well. It also plays movies of a usb stick and SD card. I bought 2 one for up and downstairs and I have never had a problem with either. Just a warning though it does not come with a HDMI cable but they can be picked up cheap enough anyway. cgi.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED.uk/PHOENIX-PREMIUM-1080P-DVD-PLAYER-MULTI-REGION-HDMI-HD-/200468221479?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_DVDPlayers_Recorders&hash=item2eacd64e27

The one suggested by hbkjason seems great at a very good price, since it's hard to find them. There was a site a few years back which I used to convert my normal DVD player into a multi-region one. You just had to look up your make and model and there'd be a series of buttons you'd have to press on your remote which ended up modifying the settings somehow. Can't remember what site it was though.

In a way, yes. A HDMI cable is the best cable available at the moment for getting a High Definition source onto your TV screen. It can support the bigger data capacity that HD requires, without much, if any, loss in the quality. In your experiance, is there any difference between a cheap HDMI cable and an expensive one?

Thanks. Also, on Watchdog, they said they would release a 3D Avatar blu ray later this year, how do you think the quality would be like on a non 3D HD TV?

I could not care less about the "special edition" that would no doubt be released by Cameron, then a directors edition etc. Do you have any plans to get a 3D TV, after spending £1500 on a TV a couple of years ago I don't.

Could sound like a very dumb question but would that Sumvision Phoenix DVD player with a HDMI cable improve the picture quality on normal DVD's or does it just mean it can play actual HD DVD's? I used to have a multi region DVD player but it was only a cheap one and it broke about a year ago now then in my rush to replace it I bought a cheap DVD player, like £10 I think, assuming I could get a code to change the region but it's a year on and there still isn't a code so I'm tempted by that Sumvision player.
