Group A South Africa Mexico Uruguay France
Group B Argentina Nigeria Korea Republic Greece
Group C England USA Algeria Slovenia
Group D Germany Australia Serbia Ghana
Group E Netherlands Denmark Japan Cameroon
Group F Italy Paraguay New Zealand Slovakia
Group G Brazil Korea DPR Ivory Coast Portugal
Group H Spain Switzerland Honduras Chile
Those are my predictions to go through to round 2. Not sure who will win the World Cup though, it feels pretty open this year as far as the big teams go.

What games are you going to see Dan? I sold all of my Tickets two days ago back through FIFA, as flights were too expensive at around £2000. I had Tickets to Winner Group B V Runner Up Group A, Brazil V Ivory Coast, Portugal V Korea and Holland V Japan. The games were at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg and in Cape Town. But, I went in to Thomas Cook yesterday, and they are doing Cat 1 England V USA Tickets, Return Flights with BA, 5 Night Accomodation and all Transfers for £1199. Plus Tickets are still on Sale for other Games in Johannesburg and Rustenburg so I could go to a couple of other Games whilst I'm out there. They basically screwed themselves over, by putting there prices too high in the first place. That same Package was in there for £2999 around a month ago, such a joke. Now they are struggling to get rid of them all. I'm gutted that I was forced to sell up all my Tickets only for them to go and lower all the flights to about £350 each way. Just waiting to see if my mate can get hold of a loan to do the England Package now though, but if not then the dreams over.

Damn, that sucks mate, hopefully your mate sorts himself out and you can go. If you do go now, at least now you will get to see England play.
BTW, anyone got their world cup charts on the wall yet, my bro got a giant one from work, looks great.

This advert has grown on me, and it had to be on the first page of this thread at least.

I can see Spain winning or as a bit of an outsider (odds are 7/1) Argentina, mayve if I was to pick a major outsider I'd go Cameroon at 110/1 ha ha

I don't think Ivory Coast will do as well as everyone is thinking, not sure Sven will do them any good at all. Hiddink would of been such a better option for them.
Brazil have left out far too many key players IMO, the likes of Ronaldinho, Pato, Diego, Marcelo etc. Dunga making them a more defensive minded team could work well for them though when it comes to facing European Competition.
Spain should really be the hot favourites, but you never know with them. They could go and draw someone they'd expect to beat e.g. France, and go out. I can see Denmark being decent dark horses to get to the Semis.
With England, it will go really well or go badly wrong. We could win the Group, and have an easy Second Round Game and even Quarter Final which would set us up nicely. But, we could quite easily draw to the US, then both beat Slovenia and Algeria and come second on Goal Difference, then go out to the Germans in the Second Round.
The Teams everyone's talking about: Spain Brazil Argentina England Ivory Coast
The Teams nobody's talking about or expecting to win it, that should do really well: Germany Italy Denmark South Africa
I can see these being the Second Round Ties: France V Korea Republic Argentina V South Africa England V Australia Germany V USA Denmark V Paraguay Italy V Holland Brazil V Switzerland Portugal V Spain
I think the Germans will get to the Final. I really don't know about the Team from the other side of the table, it all depends on who goes through the second round.

I too think Germany will reach the finals, even perhaps win it. They'd better anyway 'cos I'm following them for the tournament. At first I thought Brazil v Germany final.

This will be the first one I have ever seen and it sure does sound great. Was there any reason (perhaps you just weren't into it then) that you missed the last few? Now that I think about it, I was too young to remember '90, vaguely recall '94 but did follow completely '98, '02 and '06. So This will be the 6th in my lifetime.

I was born the day after England were eliminated from 1990, I remember little bits of '94, I mostly seem to remember my brothers World Cup '94 wall chart , I remember parts of '98, I didn't bother with '02 because Holland didn't qualify and I watched most of '06. I'm really up for this one!

I can remember Euro 96, and then the 98 world cup, damn Simeone.
I think Ivory Coast will get out of the group, leaving Brazil behind, got a funny feeling they will not make it far at all.

I really don't know about the Team from the other side of the table, it all depends on who goes through the second round. Ronaldinho wasn't picked because he'd want to be the star of the team, Dunga would rather have the team work as a unit. (hence the use some lesser-players) Pato missed most of the season and just came back. I honestly doubt he would have started anyway, the attack is firmly based around Luis Fabiano. He picked Grafite over Pato fair enough really he's had a decent season and hasn't missed a large part of it. And like I said he'll hardly feature much. Diego, crap season better players in that position in current form. Marcello should have been called up at least his natural position is a left-back, Bastos is an attacking winger and Gilberto is 34 and probably past it. He's on the back-up list too. Noticed you have Australia going through in their group too. Honestly I can't see it Serbia and Ghana I think will be too strong for them. Agree with what you say about the Ivory Coast. The team is decent but the defense is poor. Toure isn't what he used to be. Eboue is more of a winger. The other center-back whoever that will be (Bamba?) isn't really fantastic. Left-back I'm not too sure who it is - I'm guessing someone not very good. I don't get all the talk about Argentina. The team is far, far too un-balanced. Too many attacking players with a weak midfield/defense. I think the Germans are real dark horses, too. They've got a good young team. Although they aren't without their problem areas. left back and right back, namely. unless they play Lahm at right back and Jansen or Badstuber and left back they really don't have a proper right back. I don't think Friedrich is really a right back, more of a centre back to me. I also think Lahm is a bit over-rated. They don't have a set goalkeeper too.
