Starting a weekly top 10 column.
10. Matt Morgan. Getting his ass handed to him 2 times in one week, has lowered Morgan's status. As a man with a split personality. I have enjoyed Morgan, but I also enjoyed the team of himself and Hernandez. But lets face it, Morgan is a one man army, or in his mind, a 2 man army. Hopefully Morgan can pull himself out of a recent loss record, and show TNA fans once again, why he is the blueprint.
9. Abyss. Yes, at low number 9 is the monster Abyss. He scored a major upset over Wolfe in a monster balls match at Slammaversary. But shouldn't he be lower on the list? He should, but the man that Abyss has become is far from his former self. he needs to bring back the dark, evil Abyss, not the new re-formed superstar of Hogan's glory days. At one point he was the top of TNA, as world champion. Now, a shell of his former self, as well as Hogan's.
8. Brother Ray. Losing to his student at Slammaversary is a harsh loss for him. Being outsmarted by someone who you trained, low point in your career. Not only that, but it seems like we may be on the verge of loosing the tag team of 3D. Brother Ray needs to get it together, before he looses it all......for nothing.
7. The Band. Missing out on having a title match at the PPV has really hurt the credibility of this team, as well as the tag team titles. We all know that Hall and Nash have all the credentials in the world as a tag team, But by not show casing themselves at the PPV, they have made themselves seem that they would rather dodge a match and hang on to the titles, then issue a challenge and possible loose them to a far younger and up-coming tag team.......*cough MCMG cough*
6. AJ Styles. By loosing his roots of Mr.TNA and going down the path of Ric Flair's limo riding, jet flying lifestyle, Styles has seem to have lost the will to win. He would rather try to earn the respect of Flair than turn attention to climbing the ladder to championship glory once again. AJ, You are Mr.TNA, but aslong as you ride Flair's coat tail, you will only sink lower and lower in the rankings.
5. Hernandez. Coming back from his injured neck thanks to former tag team partner, Matt Morgan, Hernandez is better that ever. I mean that in the ring, and physicaly. Hernandez has now found that niche in his wrestling game, that may push him to the top. I wouldn't be suprised that after he ends his feud with Morgan, that we will see him chasing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
4. Sting. Although he wasn't able to capture the world title from RVD at Slammaversary, He has shown us that he can still go with the best. Giving us a great match Sunday, Sting lands himself as # 4 in the list. With his recent off-the-deep-end persona, he has taken out Jeff Jerrett, and His feud with RVD is far from over. I have a feeling that Sting will once re-invent himself and possible capture the gold in TNA one more time.
3. Kurt Angle. With his match against Kazarian, he rises in the ranking system for the TNA title. Giving us a possible Match of the Year against Kazarian, he shows us that no matter what style you have, Angle will always have one over you, and will find a way to win.
2. Jay Lethal. Yes, Jay Lethal has landed not one, but two pinfalls over TNA's former world champion AJ Styles. Coming from nowhere, possible from being done with TNA to being almost #1 in TNA. Lethal has left behind his Machismo gimmick, and brought himself to the table. Now with two wins over AJ Styles, maybe we will finally see that Lethal has the ability to be the next big break out star of TNA.
1. Rob Van Dam. Defeating Sting at the PPV has shot RVD from Huge superstar to a legend. Proving that he will go toe-to-toe with the best, and still come out on top. But with the names that make up the top 10 in TNA for The world title, How much longer will Van Dam hold on to his title before he finally meets his match?
