Only on the internet can a death spark an argument so stupid. I am sure Trent would have cared a lot about whether people were expecting him to die or not or whatever the hell half these posts are about. A lot of times when guys die who had a history of drugs its always said "well it was expected" or "im not surprised". However, if Trent were to get killed in a car accident or shot those type of things would never be said, even if he used drugs. ... you're detective skills are impeccable... Of course no one would say "I'm not surprised" if he was shot to death or killed in some kind of car crash because it would be something totally and completely out of left field. But the fact that his death is in all likelyhood as a result of his drug abuse it's not surprising to a lot of people that his drug use was eventually his downfall. It's sad no doubt but the way he went is not surprising.

It's a matter of simply showing respect. No matter if you didn't agree with Tren Acid's lifestyle, no matter if you aren't "surprised" or "shocked" by his death, no MATTER if you don't show much sympathy, you still need to show respect.
Difficult concept for people on this forum, I know, but still.

So we should mourn less because this was "expected?"

Yes, because a drug user/abuser dying of ( most likely ) drugs, isn't a shock. Just like if that person had a terrible car accident record, dying of a car accident wouldn't be "surprising", at all. - Triple S This. It's a matter of simply showing respect. Difficult concept for people on this forum, I know, but still. I respected the hell out of his ability in the ring, but I'm sorry that I find it hard to show as much sympathy for a guy who (likely) died of drug abuse than someone who died randomly in a car accident. So we should mourn less because this was "expected?" No one's saying you should mourn less. To each his own. But for me, if someone who takes care of themselves dies suddenly, it's a lot sadder than a drug addict who did it to himself.

Not one person has said to mourn less. A lot of the people here are stating how they respected his in ring work... what more do you expect?

You cant say your Suprised, Go yourself bunghole!!! If you cant say anything nice to a great guy who passed away. then DONT! i KNEW Trent for a long long time. He may have had personal Issues, but he was a hell of a guy and constantly entertained fans. I hope something bad happends to you, and I hope you lose someone that is close to you, so I can say. Cant Be Suprised. LOSER This is not acceptable. Do not make posts like this. It solves nothing and just causes a fight. In addition, I am going to let the debate continue. But no name calling, wishing harm on another user or any other type of petty crap. Otherwise, the thread will be locked. Onto my opinion of Trent Acid.......he will be missed. Trent was one of the biggest stars in CZW back in the day CZW was relevant and put on really good shows. Hi-V 4 Life. Acid was a phenomenal talent, that sadly was plagued by the demons of drugs. Its sad to see such a great talent wasting his life away on drugs. Pro wrestling is a grueling business, especially on the indys, and you put your body through hell. However, death is one of the consequences of drug use. If you knew Trent personally, I feel for your loss. If you were a fan of Trent, like I was, his talent will be missed. But no matter whether you were friend, fan or non fan......the responsibility still lies with Trent with his drug use and ultimately his own death. The facts and dangers of drugs are rampant and easily accessible. Doing drugs is your choice. Make that choice.....you live and die by it.

Cant Be Suprised. LOSER Look, moron. No one is saying, "I'm glad he's dead," but this is exactly why your parents tell you "Don't do drugs" when you're growing up. A 29-year-old man is dead. Why? In all likelyhood, because he couldn't get over his personal issues and battles with substance abuse. It has nothing to do with people being disrespectful. I'm sure everyone here is sad to hear about the guy's passing, but that doesn't take away from the fact that people with substance abuse problems are considerably more likely to die at a young age, thus people saying that this is "not really surprising." It's unbelievable, really, when you see so many wrestlers dying at a young age from drugs -- and yet, some of these guys just don't seem to take notice. I'm very sad to hear about Verdi's death. I considered him one of the best wrestlers on the planet. I never had a chance to meet him, but I would consider myself a fan. He was an excellent performer and from the sounds of it, a very good person. I hope his death is a wakeup sign for someone, somewhere; who might be going through the same type of substance abuse problems. I understand ur point . I think for the most part it is disrespectful on some of these peoples parts . They look down on ppl that are drug users and some ppl simply cant handle everyday life. I dont use drugs but I dont judge those who do . I just think when its all said and done the " I'm not surprised" comment can be left out . Those that knew him well enough to know of his problems aren't shocked and it can go without being said as a sign of respect IMO. We're a wrestling board not a self help forum . I loved Mike Verdi and appreciated Trent Acid not matter his personal demons. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Trent you would have remembered the day . I haven't talked to him in years since things have taken a turn for the worse and I'm sorry for that. Life is certainly too short. Can we please just turn this to a positive thread on a life lost too early, not matter how it ended ?

This is very sad to hear, he was a great performer. But like it or not, as others have said, it's hardly surprising.

I was never a fan, but the early CZW stuff with Mondo was good.

I was a fan of him when I first got into the indy scene about five or six years ago. But he fell off the radar and unfortunately had his personal demons, which messed his career and life up. I'm not surprised but it's still sad. He seemed like a good guy.

Trent was one of the most recognisable names I was familiar with because of his look and his ringname when I first discovered indy wrestling about six or seven years ago. His bouts in the IWA Mid South were quite phenomenal.

Rest in Peace. You guys arguing really need to get a new hobby. Yeah for real, omfg. Came in here to make a comment on Trent, but I won't even bother. Reminds me of that time there was a topic about somebody's friend dying, and a fight broke out, and Chase came back after being gone for years just to tell you all what pieces of trash you are.

This is a wrestling message board. If someone thinks Trent is a piece of crap b/c he was a drug user....then that is their opinion. If you think he was an awesome dude, you too have that right. I will say this. I know a lot of drug users who are great guys. I mean really great guys.....give the shirt off their back to ya. They may be great people, but they are still a drug user. And as much as you compliment them for being a great guy.......the critics have a right to belittle them for their drug use. Being a great guy and a drug user are not one in the same.
