I'm a guy that since day 1 of Mattel getting the WWE License, sticked to Jakks. I always liked TNA more so I figured I'd get their figures more. I got mattel back in december and I didn't really like them all that great when I put them with my jakks so I sold them. I then noticed that this company was getting better as I saw toyfair pics and new faces coming out that Jakks never gave us so I was getting a bit concerned. Around May when elite 3 came out, I saw a HBK and a Cena and I had to get them even though I don't like cena. I still was trying to stick with Jakks and finally the TNA figs came out, I bought them on RSC and noticed that they are taller than my Jakks DA WWE figs and i was and still am, a bit annoyed with it. Also I noticed that L L D (Ralph) has gotten the full TNA impact Series 1 (its impact not Ruthless impact) and I couldn't help but to notice that Jakks cheaped out once again. I am starting to grow so tired of Jakks and all of their lazyness. So then I hear that there's SDCC pics up of Mattel and at first I didn't bother to look I tried staying with Jakks. I then receive from my good friend Relevation O'Deeves saying "Hell has frozen over.....we are getting a Macho Man fig" I then decide to look at the Comic Con photos and I was just BLOWN AWAY from what I saw. O' Deeves was too and we both are jakks die hards and Mattel has just IMPRESSED US SO MUCH! I am now on the hunt for some mattel figs and can't wait for the upcoming ones. As far as jakks goes, I will get ones that A. dont have and B. if they look good and arent Sasquatches.
Please do not bash this, please read this and reply in a way if you have the same feelings I do about Mattel. I am not gonna stop being Jakks Customer I will buy both but now I am leaning more to the Mattel side (Mainly Elites and Legends)

No I Used To Be Loyal To TNA Before Hogan Ran it into The Ground And The First 3 Series of Jakks Toys Are Based On The Pre-Hogan Era 2009 Ring Gear So I Would Get Them No Matter How Many Mistakes Jakks Made (Angle Missing His Mouth Piece, Sting Not Having Molded On Knee Pads, Samoa Joe Wearing Lace Up Boots, No Name Suicide, Kevin Nash The Same Size As Scott Steiner And Who Can Forget The Infamous "Robert Roude")
I Have To get Them if Only As A Tribute To What TNA Used To Be And How Tragically They Ended.....I Dont't Hate Him But............JUST BLEED HOGAN.......
However I Have Not Watched WWE Since 2000 They Ruined A Great Sport Did Much More Damage Then Hogan Could Ever Cook Up Over At TNA.....They Are The Devil I Hate Them.......I HATE THEM SO MUCH..........So Why Would I Ever Get Any of Their Figures....
Also Mattel is Like The WWE of The Toy World With Their Shady Buisness Tactics And Bullying of Toy Companys Who Are Smaller Then They Are........So I've Always Stayed Away From All Mattel Toys.........Not Worse Then Hasbro But Pretty Close....
However I Was Curious And if Only As Market Research Ended Up Getting Christian Cage, R-Truth, CM Punk And Mickie James Since They Used To Be in TNA.........I Was Not Impressed
Their Points of Articulation is The Same As Jakks Only The Figures Are Smaller Yet More Expensive....No Those Lame T-Shirts Are Not Worth An Extra $5...........Also The Arm And Leg Joints Are Kinda Stiff.......Yet The Ankles Are Like Wet Noodles......Christian Cage And R-Truth Face's Looked Like They Had Multiple Stroke's.......
Mickie And CM Punk's Faces's Were Quite Nice...
They Are in True To Life Scale Which is Impressive And The Figure Stand is A Great Idea And I'll Admit Macho Man is Epic...
But in Closing.......I've Said it Before And I'll Say it Again......

At this point and time, I think pretty much everyone is just, "Eh it." and buying from both sides. What true collector could turn down a Sting or Macho Man figure produced in the year 2010?

But in Closing.......I've Said it Before And I'll Say it Again...... "Screw You Mattel I'm Getting Me's A Suicide Doll" I can relate to how you feel about Vince. He screwed my dad outta the wrestling biz back in 96 when he changed Wrestling into Sports Entertainment and my dad's license for timekeeping in NJ/NY was deregulated. How I still am able to still watch WWE, idk, I think it's because I'm such a huge wrestling fan. I can't agree about Hogan killing TNA fully, I can say that TNA has became a cluster f*** and TNA was in great shape before the MEM concept but I love the push Anderson and Pope got and they have became 2 of my current faves now. I also know Mattel has a horrible reputation but you can't say that they aren't putting out a good effort. It's to the point where both companies are putting out great figures and Mattel is putting out the most effort and when I talk about Jakks and Mattel I discuss the wrestling fig side of things. I don't focus on the personal side of things At this point and time, I think pretty much everyone is just, "Eh it." and buying from both sides. What true collector could turn down a Sting or Macho Man figure produced in the year 2010? Agreed 100% no one even cares about having a full jakks or full mattel collection. everyone is just meshing them together which is what I'll do.

Yes Maybe Overall Mattel is Better But Remember Jakks Deluxe is $9.99 Mattel Elite is $15.99 Maybe if Jakks Charged The Extra $6 They Would Make The Most Perfect True To Life Scaled Figures Ever....However For The Price And For What You're Getting Jakks Deluxe is Clearly Superior As Far As Value is Concerned......
And Honestly Who in Their Right Mind Would Perfer A Googly Eyed, Noodle Ankle's John Cena Figure With That Goofy Smirk On His Sorry Face Over A Sweet Yet Sexy AJ Styles Sitting On Their Shelf......
So in Closing.....

It is up to you the collector what figure you like the most. I used to think just like you but I saw how what mattel has done for the comic con and I saw what jakks has done lately and as well as the past and I must say after compare the Jakks Ax and Mattel Ax, Mattel looks better. There are guys mattel made that I have the jakks versions of and jakks look better such as Jimmy Snuka and so on,

Not every collector is looking for bargain bin buys, some...it appears most are willing to shell out the extra few bucks for accurate, scaled, fully painted figures with entrance attire and accessories. And not to be rude or start an argument, but Mattel has Jakks trumped in the "figure clothing" department too. Jakks has released probably a couple dozen figures with shirts/jackets, and the material Mattel uses works 100 times better than the crap Jakks uses. It actually feels like real t-shirt material, just shrunk down for figures. And, "Maybe if Jakks Charged The Extra $6 They Would Make The Most Perfect True To Life Scaled Figures Ever" I doubt that since Jakks doesn't even have a scaling system to start with. They had a chance to try it with the Deluxe Aggression series, which ran for about $3-4 more bucks than the RA line, but ended up dropping the ball there too.

I like the elites more because of the extra articulation and accessories. Basics are more detailed but it's hard to play with them. I will never sell away my Jakks collection but I will replace the jakks guys I have that look crappy compared to the mattel versions of that character.

No. I was all in with Mattel since day 1. I am a huge fan of their Batman/DCUC lines and was excited to see what they could do with the WWE and they haven't disappointed me yet. But I still buy Jakks also. And just an FYI for everyone saying Jakks DI's are $9.99 the Jakks TNA DI are $10.99 + tax at KMart I ended up paying $11.81 or $11.91 for them the other day that's not $9.99.

Once I found out Mattel was taking over, I sold all my crappy Jakks figures because I knew Mattel's figures would be a million times better before I even saw the protos.
I was right.

Sting is good figure if sting himself was heavily on the Juice. also Where's Sting's Jacket? That figure is gonna catch a cold.

The only thing I have is the Tommy Dreamer / Christian set MOCed for my Tommy Dreamer collection and that's it. I was going to pick up any Diva that Jakks never made but I'm not liking any of the diva molds at all. So I done with Mattel..

Just started collecting wrestling figures, although I think mattel figures look more lifelike, but I don't like the material they use to make the figures, it's like rough plastic if you understand what I mean. I also like muscular body on the figure. For mattel characters like Batista, triple h etc, they seems to lose their muscularity.

I didn't like Mattel's protos before the 1st of the year at all. but as soon as I had a Cena in my hands I was sold. They just look so much better and the scale is something that always bothered me about Jakks so Mattel solving that issue did it for me. I still buy Jakk's UFC figures but thats about it.

Just because its AJ and you hate jakks shouldn't automatically make it great, i hate Cena but his Elite figure blows that AJ away completley.
