Hey guys I was just wondering if Jakks, for their LOTR line, would be able to make figures of guys from their older days before they went to TNA.
For example, would Jakks be able to make a figure of Kurt Angle from his early days, around the year 2000 w/ his hair and attire, or figures of Booker T and Scott Steiner from their WCW days? Obviously they couldn't put the WWF or WCW logos on the box, but would they be able to make figures of them that represent them from their WWF and WCW days?

here's some of my insight into the subject which i wrote for another topic:
as for your question more specifically, I'm really not sure if the attires of those superstars are WWE copyrighted or not. the facial looks/hair/beard style would be fair game i think. but i'm not sure about the exact attires.

Thanks for the reply man. I always prefered Steriners white wrestling singlet attire from when he first started out as "Big Pappa Pump" in WCW than to his current, 2003-present, look. His short tights from his WCW Champ run was a cool look to w/ the Superman logos. Would love either attire in DI format.

no problem. personally I'd love a Big Poppa Pump in the black glossy short tights with red superman logos on the side. in RA form of course. and a NEW and DECENT headscan. Straight-faced. Not screaming. I know the old RA one was straight-faced but that wasnt a very good likeness IMO. And NOT an oversized balloon head please Jakks...

Steiner and Booker both can be created in either WCW or TNA attires. They also can be used as Big Poppa Pump and Harlem Heat attires as WWE doesnt own the name or likeness to either.

Glad to hear that. Even though Steiner left TNA, I'm hoping in the future we get a classic Big Pappa Pump look.
I don't think the Cross the Line 2 pack Steiner head is that bad. I agree that they should do a Steiner w/ a straight face, but Steiner is known for yelling randomly during matches so it doesn't bother me much. I also feel that Jakks did a good job of making good sized heads for the figures.

I hope to see a Harlem heat 2-pack or at least Harlem Heat Booker T.

Steiners classic/legends figure will be in the 2nd wave of the series on a NWA standpoint!!! i think they need a new Rick STeiner, the other one is a bit to fat!

Yeah I know about the Steiner coming out in wave 2, but am not a big fan of that look. I loved the Steiner Brothers tag team but they always seemed to look bland to me. We've never really gotten an "old school" Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner, so I'm hoping they make that in the future.
Harlem Heat would be an amazing 2 pack, but if they don't get Stevie Ray, I think they should do Booker's look from his WCW championship run w/ the short hair and short tights. Save Harlem Heat for when they can get them both.
