Just started rewatching Season 1 on dvd and my god was that show awesome. One of the most talked about TV shows in the world Then Season 1 finale happened then it went down hill from there and it became one of the worst shows on tv I read last night that the 2 hour wrap up tv movie is still up in the air, which sucks because even near the end, i still liked heroes, sylar and HRG were my favourites, i want the wrap up movie to get the green light so the show can have closure. Anyway so yeah, in your opinion where/what did heroes go/do wrong to end up getting cancelled

Yea my ex was into this show. When I was dating her I checked out Season 1 and kind of dug it. Then as I got into Season 2 I felt like I was getting dumber every episode I watched. The fact that she still watches it to this day is mindblowing.

I think one of the big things that initially hurt it was the Writer's Strike, which cut the second season by a little more than half, and in it's wake caused a whole drastic shift in the show's future plans, canceling of story arcs, reshoots, etc.

It was definitely Season 2. Everything just became downright confusing, and it took ages for any sort of payoff. Season 3 was the "damage control" season and suffered for it. Season 4 managed to bring back a bit of the quality, but still had a bunch of stumbling blocks.
However, I would say that I'd really like to see the TV movie, just so I can get closure. I really, really liked the first season of Heroes.

I would say it went wrong after Bryan Fuller left because the first season was great and it all went downhill after that.

I started this show last week. I'm halfway through season two, and I gotta say, I don't see what's so bad about it so far.

Wait until S3, it starts off interesting then that goes quickly, then the 2nd volume in s3 has an amazing start but after a few eps it dies, but i liked the s3 finale
btw what are you thinking of Kensei?
He is one of my favourite characters from any tv show.

I thought it was great until the last episode of Season 1. That really sucked. And it just never seemed to hit it's stride again. I didn't think it was as bad as all the ranters and ravers made it out to be, but I did lose interest during Season 3 and didn't watch any of Season 4. I just didn't care any more.

Season 1, awesome start to finish. Season 2, great with a few dull bits but not bad, Monroe kicked ass as the main bad guy - the reveal of him in the future killing Sulu was awesome. Season 3, trainwreck with a few eps of good tv in amongst it. Season 4 was good to great, nowhere near as exciting as Season 1 though.
My issues with the show was they took too much time up dithering around with Angela Petrelli like she knows the big picture when she knew jack crap and just stirred things up with the big characters which screwed them over.
The hearts of the characters were destroyed somewhere in Season 3, they basically all became egomaniacals desperate to keep any power. Nathan Petrelli's loyalties were all out of whack, not consistent. Ali Larter would not go away. Killed any new powers off that came about by giving it to Sylar or just killing the characters off.
It should have been easy to get the group to band together to fight a team of big bads but that took 4 years and it was a bit anticlimatic, T-Bag didn't stand a chance on his own with one power.
Very frustrating.
In a perfect world I hope they leave it for a few years and see about a reboot bringing some old cast back to mix with some new and just restart.

There was no continuity and was just overall confusing. It's like they had a different person write each episode. I watched up until season 4 episode 12 then couldn't take it anymore. The show became a chore to watch.

Season four is when it started to suck in my opinion. Loved seasons 1 and 3, and season two was decent Kensei was awesome.
SPOILERS
Then season four with the whole Nathans death, Sylar face turn, and every single thing involving Claire (hate that bitch). It was just forced and complete s***

Writers' strike.
And the part where Claire's blood could bring back dead people.

When they just left Peter's hot Scottish chick in that alternate future and never told you what happened to her.
Stupid writers strike.
