January 11th 1993Vince McMahon, Rob Bartlett and Randy Savage welcome us to the first ever broadcast of Monday Night Raw, broadcasting on the USA Network and emanating from the Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Central Studios. Tonight is set to be a great night with the likes of Razor Ramon, The Steiner Brothers and The Undertaker all in action, plus a very special main event featuring Shawn Michaels defending his Intercontinental Championship against former friend Marty Jannetty. The Undertaker w/ Paul Bearer Defeated Repo Man. In the first ever match on Monday Night Raw The Undertaker came out on top against the Repo Man. Despite Repo’s underhanded techniques The Undertaker could not be phased and eventually put Repo Man away with the Tombstone. We are taken backstage where Sean Mooney is standing by with the Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels to get his thoughts on facing his ex partner Marty Jannetty tonight. Michaels laughs off any threat that Jannetty poses, saying that he was always the better wrestler when they were a team and that nothing has changed now. He says that everybody better be watching and paying attention to tonight’s main event, because you’ll be watching the winner of the 1993 Royal Rumble successfully defending his Championship against a “lesser wrestler”. The Steiner Brothers Defeated Duane Gill & Barry Hardy. Featured an inset promo featuring The Steiner Brothers challenging Money Inc for the Tag Titles. This is what you’d call a complete squash. The Steiner Brothers controlled this match from start to finish, eventually putting them to bed with a Steiner-Line/ German Suplex combination.Jack Tunney is inside the ring when Monday Night Raw comes back. He thanks everyone for being part of television history and watching the first ever edition of WWF Monday Night Raw. He promises us a lengthy future of exciting action. We are treated to a promo package for the ‘Headlock on Hunger’ campaign featuring Tatanka. Razor Ramon Defeated Glen Ruth. Another squash match ensuring that Razor Ramon was built up as a credible main event threat ahead of his WWF Championship match at the Royal Rumble. An impressive performance from Razor was topped off by the Razor’s Edge for the victory.Following the match Razor Ramon grabbed a microphone and announced his intention to take the World Wrestling Federation Championship from Bret Hart at the Royal Rumble. Ramon states that somebody like Hart doesn’t deserve to hold the title, calling him and his family “A family of pathetic underachievers.” Razor says the WWF needs a champion who doesn’t worry about what the fans think, and that sometime soon, the Bad Guy will be World Champion. A graphic shows that our main event will be up next! Shawn Michaels Defeated Marty Jannetty to RETAIN the WWF Intercontinental Champion. A big main event to top off the first ever edition of Monday Night Raw. These two have had big problems ever since Shawn Michaels threw his ex tag team partner through a window so this one was vicious and brutal. Both had plenty of opportunities to get the victory but Jannetty seemed more focused on hurting Michaels than pinning him and that allowed Michaels to capitalise and connect with a low blow out of the sight of the referee, followed by the Teardrop Suplex to get the victory and retain his title. This should be good. Interesting that you went with the HBK/Jannetty match for the main event. Might have been better to hold it off until the Rumble. Maybe we'll see a rematch.

Ah, the first night of Monday Night RAW. Should be great. -Undertaker over Repo Man as the first match on RAW is solid. Taker winning was the right call. -The Steiners over Gill and Hardy was the right call too. Nothing wrong there. -Ramon over Ruth is fine hype for his WWE Championship Match at the Rumble. -Figured that Michaels would go over Jannetty. I hope we see a rematch too. -Pretty good first RAW. Nothing to complain about here.

WWF Superstars January 16th 1993
Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler welcome us to the show. They hype the main event of Ric Flair vs. Tito Santana, plus appearances from Yokozua, High Energy and Bob Backlund.
Bob Backlund Defeated Bobby Who. A short squash match to put Backlund over. A lot of the fans still aren’t overly interested in him, but Backlund still got the victory with the Crossface Chickenwing.
A recap clip is shown highlighting the events of last week’s Superstars where Kamala turned on Harvey Wippleman and Kimchee and joined up with ‘Reverand’ Slick.
Kamala w/ Slick Defeated The Brooklyn Brawler. Featured an inset promo featuring Slick talking about how he will humanise Kamala and lead him to the top in the process. Kamala looked impressive here and picked up the win following the Air Africa.
Bobby Heenan is shown backstage. He complains that somebody forgot to send a car to bring him to Monday Night Raw but he has something to say. Heenan hypes that he has found the perfect weapon to take the WWF by storm and with ‘The Brain’ in his corner he’ll be WWF Champion in no time. Heenan announces that Lex Luger will make his debut at the Royal Rumble.
High Energy Defeated The Headshrinkers w/ Afa. A decent tag team match here as both teams attempt to ascend up the tag team rankings. Owen Hart looked very impressive and the crowd are really into the characters of High Energy, giving a good pop when Owen pinned Fatu following a Missile Dropkick.
Doink the Clown then joins Vince McMahon inside the ring. Vince asks Doink about Crush’s warnings about going around and scaring kids. Doink says that there’s no reason to be scared of a clown, but that Crush clearly has some fears of his own. Doink challenged Crush to come and meet him face to face on next week’s Monday Night Raw and see exactly how nice of a clown he really is. While leaving Doink squirted a little kid in the face with water from a fake flower, making the kid cry. Doink starts laughing crazily as he walks backstage.
Yokozuna w/ Mr. Fuji Defeated Jason Knight. A simple squash match to put Yokozuna over as a major threat leading into the Royal Rumble. Yoko put Knight away with a big Splash.
We cut to Sean Mooney with the WWF Event Centre. Mooney runs over the current card for the Royal Rumble which features WWF Championship Match between champion Bret Hart and Razor Ramon and, by order of WWF President Jack Tunney, Shawn Michaels defending his Intercontinental Championship against Marty Jannetty. He also announces some competitors for the Royal Rumble match including Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels, Tag Team Champions Money Inc., Big Bossman, Ric Martel and Bam Bam Bigelow with more expected to be announced prior to the event. He then runs down upcoming live shows.
Ric Flair Defeated Tito Santana. Featuring an inset promo featuring Ric Flair insulting Mr. Perfect, calling his former executive consultant a waste of space and a nobody. Flair and Tito put in a good match with some nice back and forth action. Tito just couldn’t find a chance to put Ric Flair away and eventually Ric locked in the Figure Four Leglock for the victory.

Bob Backlund over Bobby Who is the right call considering Backlund is better. -Kamala is more fierce and big than the Brooklyn Brawler. So I kind of figured he'd win. -High Energy over the Headshrinkers is the best call possible there. -Yokozuna over Knight was predictable since he's heading into the Rumble. -Great main event with Flair and Santana. You might wanna replace Santana with Santino. But good call. -Good Superstars; looks like you really enjoy this diary. Keep it up.
