National Wrestling Alliance/Total Non-Stop Action presents Impact Date: 6/4/2004 From: Orlando, FL
NWA-TNA opening video
Mike Tenay and Don West welcome everyone to the first edition of Impact! Tenay tells the fans that tonight is the beginning of a new era for NWA-TNA. Tenay hypes up the show as being the best hour of wrestling that you will find anywhere! Tenay and West rundown the matches on the show which they describe as being huge matches. Tenay talks about the main event which will see Raven, Chris Harris and Abyss compete in a three way dance with the winner getting a NWA-TNA World Championship shot at their first two hour primetime show on July 25th. Also tonight their will be a NWA-TNA World Tag Team title match as the champions Kid Kash and Dallas take on Konnan and BG James of 3LK. West says that he is most anxious for the Amazing Red vs. AJ Styles match. Tenay goes to share his thoughts but is cut off by the new NWA-TNA World Champion Jeff Jarrett.
NWA-TNA World Champion Jeff Jarrett casually make his way to the ring with a huge smile on his face while showing off the championship to the crowd. Jarrett grabs a microphone and lets out a big laugh. Jarrett tells the fans that once again he has regained his championship and he continues to show the world that he is a dominate force in NWA-TNA. Jarrett says that he is so dominate that he has ran out of competition when it comes to his championship. Jarrett looks back at the King of the Mountain match that happened on June 2nd and says that of all the so called elite talent in TNA, he has beaten every single one of them. Jarrett says he is getting bored of lack of competition. Jarrett wants someone new, and fresh to step up to the plate and see their hopes and dreams of becoming the NWA-TNA World Champion shatter. Jarrett wants someone to try and reach the mountain that he is the king of and only be shoved off to suffer a painful death of their hopes and dreams. After a few moments, the lights go out and several green lights begin to flicker. All of a sudden we hear “Modest” hit and the crowd erupts as JEFF HARDY arrives at the top of the ramp way! Jarrett doesn’t know what is going on and isn’t happy to see Hardy in TNA! Hardy doesn’t say a word and instead just points and Jarrett and motions that he is coming for the championship. Jarrett shakes his head that will not be happening.

-Good promo to kick off the show with Hardy and Jarrett. Really hope you give Hardy the title. -Styles over Red is a good call to kick off the show match-wise. -Dallas/Kash over Konnan/James is the best call I think for that match. -Harris over Raven and Abyss is a fine call. Looking forward to Harris/Jarrett. -Good show; lots to look forward to as this was the part beginning I think.

I am really excited to see how this plays out. I always thought that Impact opener was so corny, but I loved it. Mike Tenay and Don West running down the show is good way to kick everything off. Wow, Jeff Hardy confronting Jeff Jarrett was brilliant – simple as that. AJ Styles defeating Amazing Red is a perfect first contest for tonight’s impact. Those two always had good chemistry in the ring. I really can’t picture Chris Harris as a serious main eventer at this point. I always despised the Three Live Kru so I am pleased to see Kid Kash and Dallas defeat them and retain the titles. Wasn’t Robert Roode Bobby Roode at this time? I am really shocked and a little disappointed to see Chris Harris defeat Raven and Abyss, but I will see how it plays out before I judge it.
