Meh, simple but I like it. I know the background ain't anything special, but I just can't seem to create a background, I don't know, I just can't seem to get how to actually use anything other than a Gradient, of course pics could be used, but making a unique background, now if anyone could help, I'd be greatly appreciative.

There isn't a whole lot to say about it. It's 3 PSDs/PNGs with a simple background and a logo. I don't like the glow effect on the Superman logo, but I tend to not like glows in general. It would look better if the 3 images you got had similar lighting situations, or you edited them to look that way so they look like they belong together, whereas your current layout looks like you just grabbed 3 pictures.
In regards to your background woes, a simple technique to make visually interesting backgrounds is to take your focal image (this obviously works best if you have just 1 main image) at its original size (assuming it's larger than your sig), and go crazy on it with the smudge tool with a interesting-looking brush. You don't want it to be recognizable as the original image, but a textured background with colors used by the focal point. It will add a bit of color-unity to the image, as well.
