08/21/10 - "Reign of the Insane"
1) Originally billed as Scotty Vortekz v. Dave Davidson, the Former Champions match saw the surprise returns of several former IPW champions: Joey "Kidd" Owens, PT Hustla, James Avery (formerly Carlton Kaz), and Clifton Crunk.
The last two men standing were PT Hustla and Clifton Crunk, with PT Hustla winning.
2) Joseph Schwartz beat Sean Tyler by DQ, retaining the Mid-American Title.
3) The H3rd beat The Nobel Bloods.
4) Mena Libra beat Nevaeh.
5) Jesse Emerson beat Chrisjen Hayme in a Last Man Standing Match.
6) Ricochet beat Camron Sky & Dustin Rayz to retain the IPW Jr. Heavyweight Championship.
After the match Ricochet attacked Dustin Rayz with a ladder. IPW Commishioner Brandon Prophet set up a Jr. Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match for Oct 2.
7) Kevin Thorn beat Billy Roc.
8) Irish Airborne beat DNA to retain the Tag Team Champions.
9) Jon Moxley beat Jimmy Jacobs to retain the IPW World Championship.
10) Drake Younger beat Bryan Danielson after the match went to a time limit draw and was restarted.
-------------------------------------------
I was at this show, and I have to say that it was a great one. A lot of first time attendees (myself included) due to Danielson. The Last Man Standing match earned a standing ovation from the crowd. The Jr. Title 3-way dance was fun and the ladder match announcement for the next show was set up well. Irish Airborne looked as good as they ever have. How they haven't been picked up by some of the bigger independent promotions on a more regular basis floors me.
Moxley vs. Jacobs was a wild war where Jimmy jumped Moxley as he was making his entrance, they brawled outside the building, Moxley was made a bloody mess, and that was just the opening moments of the match! Lost of back and forth between the two before Mox got the win. Finish came after Jimmy produced a pair of scissors, ran after Moxley, and got them stuck in the turnbuckle. As Jimmy was trying to get the scissors free Moxley rolled up Jimmy with a school boy. Afterwards Jimmy continued to attack Moxley with scissors finally nailing him in the head with them and then trying to slice him with the blades. However, before Jimmy could go that far the locker room cleared to run off Jimmy and then they held back Moxley as he tried to get to Jimmy. Obviously the feud isn't over.
Danielson vs. Younger blew me away. Those two went balls out for 20 minutes to a time limit draw. After that Younger issued the challenge to keep going, Danielson agreed, and they went at it all out again! Younger wasn't carried here, he held his own with one of the best in the world and then he pinned him! I was shocked when Drake got the 3 count after a moonsault. Drake was very emotional after the match. Tears freely flowing. He had just had the match of his life against one of the biggest names in indy wrestling and now a WWE star, and HE went over.
Younger needs to hold his head high and be proud, as should the entire IPW locker room. Danielson drew the crowd, and everyone else won them over. The building was packed and hopefully when they run their next show in October just as many show up. One of the best independent shows I have been to in some time.
