So, watching the countdown to Smackdown got me thinking. What happened to our ppv pre-shows? 30 min. of solid Match Promos well, just suck. I'd love to have either Micheal Cole and Matt Striker or Jack Corepela and Josh Matthews stand in the Skybox or wherever and give a preview of the ppv, a review of the past few weeks, have a few interviews and segments, maybe a match, and even ask a few fans for predictions. It just make the ppv seem that much more important.

What the hell? There's a countdown to SmackDown? Yes. It's been on for the past 1/2 hour. Live.

I think they got thrown out when they stopped doing Heat... which is unfortunate because I loved Heat. I mean when I saw Backlash in Edmonton the Heat match was Val Venis Vs. Matt Hardy... good stuff.

Live Sunday Night Heat broadcasts before all the PPV's in 1998-1999 were the ****. you'd get like 4 extra matches and to me it really made the PPV's feel like extended editions if you taped both shows back-to-back. i never understood why WWE made that move to stop Live Sunday Night Heat before the PPV's with extra matches to get the crowd hyped the actual PPV itself. plus it gave talent that were'nt going to be used on the PPV something to do. totally agree with you about the pre-show thing.

Yeah I'd be cool with that. It always added to the anticipation of the show to start.

I also loved the live sunday night heat and pre shows from the past. The new pre PPV shows are so bad I wish they would just show the dark match that they usually have before the ppv and maybe a segment of somebody going around interviewing fans or wrestlers. They also need to do better hype videos for the ppv's. If they did something different before every ppv like show the crew getting the arena ready, interviewing wrestlers and fans, etc.

I liked them.
And I didn't get to see the SD preview but it sounded great.
I mean one more hour is always cool.

That Countdown to Smackdown was horrendical. They may as well have just replayed NXT, because that's all it was. Hell, the show even ended with the NXT legalese in the lower left-hand corner.
