So, I am gonna get $500 for my birthday next month, and I am thinking of going all in on these Mattel Legends. Honestly, I am/was so heartbroken by the switch from Jakks & the signing of Steamboat and Savage, and the Von Erich's for goodness sakes right after the Jakks contract was done despite Jakks lack of effort towards the end of the run.
I was thinking of just taking the entire 500 and catching up with what I have missed so far. What I was hoping u guys could help me with is letting me know exactly what I have missed and maybe what is upcoming. Anything that would fit the definition of a classic or legend.
Thank you

Legends 1 & 2 are ins stores. Legends 3 is in stock at RSC. Legends 1 2-packs are available at TRU. Legends 1 & 2 are in Targets mostly. Series 1 in TRU and Walmart. Legends 3 on online stores like RSC. Or you can wait a couple more weeks for them to be in stores. Legends 2-Packs series 1 only at TRU (as mentioned above). Undertaker (ministry of Darkness) was available at Mattycollector.com but is now sold out. Best bet is online (either online stores or ebay). Pretty much all the figures released so far have been legends (no C list characters have been made yet). With Jakks pretty much giving up on their Legends line, and Mattel signing top names like Macho Man, I would recommed collecting them. Mattel's detail and scale accuracy really is good and you won't have to do much "fixing" up on them compared to Jakks' figures.

What about these entrance greats? Piper, Michaels, etc.? Anyone else of note in those lines?

You're not that far behind. Target & Walmart are a great place to start. TRU has the two packs. You can even try K-mart for the HOF line which is just repacked legend figures. Some EG like Piper, Jericho, & Dibiase can be hard to find, but they are out there still.
Good luck.

What about these entrance greats? Piper, Michaels, etc.? Anyone else of note in those lines? Ahh yes, forgot about those. Series 1 has Michaels in his WM 12 attire (the other 2 aren't legends era). Series 2 has Jericho in his WWE debut (don't know if you consider that legends) and Piper with removable shirt, kilt, bagpipes & better headscan IMO (the legends 2-pack with Piper only comes with kilt so you may want to buy the entrance greats Piper and parts swap). Series 3 has Million $ Man with removable suit. The Entrance Greats are Basic style but if you don't mind mixing the Basic & Elite lines they are another series to get. Or you can do what I do and buy the entrance greats for the removable attire. Entrance Greats are available in Targets and K-Marts mostly.

If you really like Classic or Legends figures like I do, Mattel is the place to be. JAKKS has pretty much given up completely on the idea.
Mattel's Legends line is truly a very good line for you if you like Legends figures. You are not that far behind at all. This is a good time to start, because of all the really nice figures that are being released right now. Truly, an amazing line to collect.

I guess the flood gates are offically open. . . bought Kamala for starters since he seems to be the most rare around these parts. Gonna get the Road Warriors later today.

Basically right now, to catch up it would take about 500.00
Series 1 - 90.00 Series 2 - 90.00 Series 3 - 90.00 Legends 2 packs - 90.00 Hall Of Fame - 90.00 (You really only need these if you are MOC collector)
Thats 450 so far.
Then of course, you have the others Undertaker Comic Con and the 6 Entrance Greats (which Piper and Dibiase only have the Legends logo)
I consider HMK WM12 a classic as well though.

Besides the actual Legends line I'd say the EG Piper, HBK, M$M, Jericho and dedut Taker (when released) are also Legends figures

There's a couple pegs in the back of the pads (2 on each side) that pop out. you can see where the seem of the 2 pieces are by following the strap to the back of the pads.
