Well the Phillies project #2 and #3 starters in Spring Training ain't there either, but I am not complaining. Halladay should be good in game 1 unless he chokes in the playoffs. He doesn't strike me as the type who can't handle playoff pressure though. Oswalt is 4-0, 3.66 in the playoffs so I'm not worried about him. Hamels sucked balls last year and was lights out the year before. I'm a little worried about which Hamels shows up. The schedule is set up so Halladay can go on full rest in Game 4 if necessary. I can't see the Reds beating Halladay twice which means they'll have to beat Oswalt twice and Hamels once. I can't see that either. If Halladay wins, and they beat Hamels or Oswalt then the Reds are down 2-1 with Halladay scheduled to start game 4. You have to like the Phillies odds there. Even if the Phils are down 1-2 (if the Reds beat both Hamels and Oswalt), then Halladay evens up the series most likely and you've got game 5 with Oswalt on the mound on full rest. Roy Halladay and Roy Oswalt have to be like Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson in 2001 in order for the Phillies to win it all. If they dont win a championship after trading away 3/4 of their farm system, it wouldnt be a failure, but it would be a real waste of an opportunity. I disagree. Halladay and Oswalt have to be good, but they don't need to carry the team. Hamels sucked in 2009, but was very good in 2008. They've got Blanton as a 4th starter and he's got 8 post season games and 5 of them are starts so he's got a lot of post season experience. Blanton's not a great pitcher, but he's the type of guy who keeps you in a game generally and lets you hang around long enough for the other guy's starter (hopefully) to screw up.

Halladay is batting 1.000 w/a RBI in the playoffs. Can we play him in RF on his off days?

I am rooting for the Twins or the Rays to win the World Series. I love what both teams have done and with the Mets not even close to contention, I would love for one of these two to win it all.

Congrats to Halladay. What an incredible pitching performance. What a way to kick off your postseason career.

Halladay is incredible. Easily the best pitcher of the last decade into this. This is a guy who hadn't thrown a no-no in his career, then in the span of 1 season + postseason he's thrown a perfect AND a no-no.....amazing.
Nice to see the Rays go down today too. They still are the biggest thread to the Yankees in the AL postseason IMO

Wow, simply amazing is all I can say. Congrats to him.
As for the Rays, we keep playing like we did today and we will have as many wins in the playoffs as Cincy had hits.
