The U.S. price for DM will be somewhere between 21.99-24.99.

I am sure part of that price is for the package itself, that thing is HUGE. I will admit it looks nice for MOC collector's, but if you are a loose collector, it doesn't matter.
I do think the EG line is over priced, as is the Legends 2 packs. Both of those are clogging the TRU in my area. I think other than Savage, the DM line will not sell well either. I am not a fan of those music based stands that they include with the EG line. Some people might like them, but I am sure that is where a lot of the cost is on those. I am not sure if the DM line will have the music based stands or not, but if they do, that is probably where some of that high price is as well.
I think the EG, should be $16.99-$17.99, and I think the Legends 2 packs should be $24.99. The DM line, I think a good price on those would be $19.99 at the most. Of course, this is just my opinion.
With all of that said, I think everything else, including the Legends line is priced very fairly. With the amount of quality you get with the Mattel figures. I have no complants on any of the other lines. I think Mattel is doing a great job with the WWE license. They actually come on here and listen, answer questions, and try to get involved with the collector community.

Not really surprised. Someone with basic customer relation skills answered some questions and said DM would be similarly priced with EG which I took to mean they would be their higher-end priced item. Around $30 here sounds right to me.

Cool. Retail should provide plenty of opportunities then.

I'd never pay that much for a figure, ever.

I thought I heard somewhere it was going to be around $25 USD similar to the Undertaker Comic Con figure. You did, twice from Mattel. Now someone innocently reports a price that is in a Canadian TRU computer and everyone thinks we are going to charged $40 for a DM figure. It's so funny people love to get worked up over things that haven't even happened yet.

That doesn't mean that other retailers here in Canada won't be carrying DM figures, and possibly for cheaper prices, it just means that I won't be buying my DM figures from TRU unless they're on sale or get put on clearance. However it should be noted that in my area, TRU is the only retailer that keeps up to date (sort of) with Mattel anyway, so I don't really have a choice where to buy DM's.

That would be crossing the line for me. How much is the ESR? Isn't it $50 in Canada? Having one single figure, no matter who it is, priced at $40 is WAY too much even with full acurate designs, entrance attire and a big box. I hate how the US gets everything so damn cheaper than us.

I haven't found out the retail price for the ESR yet, but that's what I'm actually going to do today. I'll post in this topic with any information I get from TRU later tonight when I get home from work. $39.99 for a figure basically means that Mattel is appealing to collectors, that's it. They'll put a little extra work into making a terrific looking figure, which is something I've never knocked Mattel on. However, there's no reason why these figures couldn't retail for the same price as Entrance Greats which were $29.99 here. Still insane, but slightly more tolerable especially if I'd only be buying one figure every few months.

DM here are supposed to cost as much as EG. They will cost more than EG. That's what the Mattel guy in the interview said. I thought he said the price point would be the same.

From Mattel: The Defining Moments Macho Man Randy Savage and Shawn Michaels look great. We noticed that the packaging is similar to that of the Entrance Greats. Will they be priced similarly? Are Entrance Greats continuing in 2011?
Yes, this SKU will be a similar price point.
Take from that what you will. They didn't say the same price. Similar could mean $20-$25 or it could mean higher-end pricing for collectors since that is what EG figures were.

WHAT?! Anything over $22, NO. EG are awesome, but why should Defining Moments be more than them?! No, thanks. I don't care of it is Savage. Once people start paying over that much for the line, Mattel will just keep the line going, and I'm sorry, that's not worth it.

They should be more than EG because they are incorporating deluxe articulation (so costs for molds and parts go up) plus they are using more life-like goods like leather. Dont see why people seem to think EG and DM must be the exact same because they arent.

If the price is $22 or less, I will pick it up - otherwise I will wait for a sale on the Savage figure before I get this one. He will definitely be in the Legends line sooner or later - this isn't the only Savage figure we will see - ideally we would get a TRU 2-pack with Miss Elizabeth
