…and he played a fiddle of gold.
Arc I: Act II
It had been a month since he had been home. Jason must have returned quietly the night before, it seemed that he had made no attempt to make it to our room either. He laid on the couch, he looked different now. His hair was well done though it was a bit messy due to where his head had rested on the cushion. His face seemed cold and firm, where as I knew it as gentle and kind. I felt as though a stranger had wandered in and claimed a stake as my boyfriend.
I made breakfast and eventually I found him making his way into the kitchen. He never looked me directly in the eyes and would not allow me to touch him. His clothes were of pure white and the his hair covered his eyes completely now. I couldn’t take it anymore and I broke the silence that had been in our house for the last month. “May I ask where you have been?” I tried to come off gentle but I could tell that he was in no mood no matter how gentle I may have been on the wording.
He glanced into my eyes with a dead stare and I felt nothing was there. I had only seen it once before when my father passed. I now saw that same grave look from my significant other it I will admit that I now knew pure apathy. He grinned menacingly, “You may know if you think it relevant?”
“RELEVANT,” I felt my face heating up and my heart began to pump faster and faster. “Relevant, you want to talk like that fine! I don’t have to know anything and I don’t have to care about you or what you do!” I huffed a bit before I started to feel my eyes well up with tears and I ran towards the bathroom and locked the door. It only took a few moments and I could tell that the person now at the door was the man I loved.
“Silas? Silas, I’m sorry. I have been doing things that I have put behind me in hopes I could abandon what all had happened. I know now I cant do that and next week I will have to leave again and find myself in the war of my choosing.” I quickly opened the door and embraced him.
He cuddled me softly as he use to when we first met. Then he pulled my face away and kissed me, gently resting his hand on my face. As we pulled away I asked my next and final question for I was given no more. “Jason, who are you going up against, at least tell me that?”
“Someone who is maybe no different then I. Someone who has a past and a future and some who is looking for that something that seem to have been lost. His name is Sanchez, the name rings a bell but the man doesn’t matter. Only the beginning of a new Reverend Shadow matters.” His eyes began as fire as the last line left his lips. He embraced me violently and shook me about with lust in his eyes.
“No wealth, no ruin, no silver, no gold
Nothing satisfies me but your soul”
Death
