Am I the only one who didn't care for how the ring looked?

God, that trailer was AWESOME!
Everything that a Green Lantern movie SHOULD be. I'm not the slightest bit worried about any of the performances, everybody looked and seemed spot on.
Kilowog and Tomar looked BAD ASS! Sinestro looked absolutely perfect. The CG still needs some touching up, but I have no doubts that it'll sparkle by release.
2011 is gonna be a GREAT year to be a comic book fan!

Should've just done a straight live-action translation of First Flight. Oh yeah, and with a different lead.

That CGI suit looks ridiculous.

Not enough seriousness. But then again, we can't really judge an entire movie based on a small preview...

Well that was ing awful. This went from one of my most anticipated movies of 2011, to one I'm hardly even interested in seeing. Just crap. Eh, atleast it has the magnificant Mark Strong in it.

atleast it has the magnificant Mark Strong in it. I honestly can't believe he's in this film. I mean, that was the first tidbit of information I'd heard about this film and it kind of got me interested... Mark Strong as Sinestro, perfect casting right there. At the same time they've given Ryan Reynolds the role of Hal Jordan? And I don't know how he was in 'Buried' or 'Amityville Horror' (Two examples his fans use of his serious acting) but it's obvious from the clips that he was chosen for his comic delivery. That's fine for a teen comedy movie but not for the Green Lantern. As for the trailer, yet more awfulness. It's clear they're going for the same comical tone of the Iron Man films but it simply doesn't work for a Green Lantern movie. As much as I disliked his Watchmen movie, I think the filming style of Zack Snyder would have been much better suited to a film set (for the most part) in space. The style seen in the trailer just doesn't cut it in terms of aesthetic; way too much of a contrast between CGI and non-CGI. Snyder's Watchmen and 300 both captured the distinct look of the comic books, but blended the artificial well with the environment... And don't get me started on the dialogue.

It's good to see he's finally getting the big break he deserves. I quite like Ryan Reynolds, and he was good in 'Buried', however, he royally looks like he's ed this up. I totally agree (other than the bit about Watchmen being crap). It needs to be edgier and more dark, as opposed to the 'action comedy' style of Iron Man.

I actually think it looks great, and will deffo be seeing it, sure, theres a little too much humor in the teaser, but still, looks quite good, not every Comic film needs to be serious like TDK

I'm a big GL fan and I actually liked it. The Hal Jordan GL is not a dark, tortured hero. I know that's what people want, but that's not what GL is.

After seeing the trailer, I feel a little bit better...but I still don't like how the suit looks.

I think films like The Dark Knight have drummed in theories that superhero films must be dark now, but I still have faith in this being a top grade superhero movie with elements of comedy/goofiness.

have any of you read the early GL comics? the humor is exactly what was present back then.
leave it to the internet to complain and make full judgement based on a 2 minute clip. everything they have done makes sense, including the cg suit. the suit, like anything else a GL creates, is imaginary.

I liked the trailer. Looks like they are going the route of Iron Man, in mixing humor with action. I think it'll work. Not everything needs to be dark and gritty in a comic book movie.

What movies of his are you watching moron? Read a Green Lantern comic before you decide to go with the herd so you fit in, THAT'S the humor it's supposed to have. He's doing it RIGHT. For the rest of you complaining about the humor; The Dark Knight is NOT the be all and end all of comic flicks, not every single one from now on needs to be dark and brooding. Green Lantern HAS humor mixed in with the seriousness. Get used to it.

If you want a dark, brooding, GL, go with John Stewart, not Hal Jordan. Personally, I think Guy Gardner GL would be a fun movie but would be ridiculously politically incorrect.

Is Ryan Reynolds on a quest to play every single comic book character? If I were DC/Warner Bros, I wouldnt want some guy who played a Marvel character to be playing one of DC's major characters. I hope the sequel will feature Hal Jordan as White Lantern.
